From the first communication with Rachel to the flexibility of the options offered and to the last day with Rono - everything organised was meticulous, well thought through and extremely flexible to our needs.

Splendid Vacations delivered an excellent safari experience in Kenya! The trip was well organised and full of incredible wildlife sightings throughout. Our drive guide, Masila, was the best, knowledgeable, friendly, and amazing at spotting animals. Highly recommend for anyone planning a safari!

An Unforgettable Tanzanian Safari on Our Honeymoon

We had the most incredible safari experience again! Last year we travelled with this company in Kenya, so when we booked our flights to Tanzania it felt natural to contact our planner James to help us plan and coordinate another safari. James was, as always, quick to send us a detailed quote and followed up consistently. He was always available if we had questions, and we felt safe, taken care of, and well informed from the very first message.

Our guide Jackson was truly exceptional. He is incredibly knowledgeable and made sure we were comfortable at all times. On every drive he shared insights about plants, trees, climate, culture and of course animals, always with a big smile. When it came to the game drives, he was absolutely phenomenal. Jackson was always early to the best spots, positioned the car perfectly for viewing and communicated efficiently with other guides in the parks. We also noticed that many guides stopped to ask him for updates because he always knew exactly where the animals were. Thanks to him, we saw incredibly rare sightings including lions under our car, baby leopards, countless lions and lion cubs, lions mating, cheetahs and cheetah babies, and of course the entire Big Five. Every time we thought we had seen it all, Jackson surprised us with something even more amazing.

We were on our honeymoon this time, and James made sure to let the accommodations know. Because of that, we had a surprise waiting for us every time we checked in at a new place which added such a beautiful touch to our stays.

The accommodations were very good, and the car was spotless every day. We always had cold water, soft drinks and snacks that Jackson provided for us.

Towards the end of our trip we had to make some unexpected changes due to our cancelled and rescheduled flight back home which meant staying an extra day. James handled everything for us and managed to rebook our domestic flight and take care of the necessary hotel adjustments. It turned a potentially stressful situation into something completely hassle-free.

Overall, it was an amazing 10 out of 10 experience.

Our dream and unforgettable honey moon in Kenya

We booked our honeymoon trip to Kenya with Splendid Vacations, and we could not have chosen a better agency. We only planned everything about 4 weeks before traveling, but the entire process was incredibly smooth. Maryann Lucky, who handled all our arrangements, was amazing, super responsive, fast, and always ready to accommodate every change or request we had. Even when we decided to extend our stay last-minute, she organised everything immediately and without any stress for us.

Our safari started with one night in Lake Nakuru, staying at Sarova Lion Hill Game Lodge. The lodge was beautiful, and that’s where our adventure truly began.

Our guide (and now our friend) Alex made this experience unforgettable. He was so patient, friendly, and kind from the very first moment. He took care of absolutely everything, and we always felt safe, comfortable, and in great hands. His driving is excellent, and his knowledge of the parks is incredible. He knows every path, every shortcut, and truly has an instinct for where to find the animals.

From Nakuru we headed to the Maasai Mara, staying at Entim Private Wing, which was an amazing camp with exceptional service. And in the Mara… Alex worked his magic.

We saw the Big Five — and so much more.
In total, we saw over 40 lions and lionesses, including tiny baby cubs! We saw lions resting, walking, drinking water, eating, even mating (nature at its finest 🤣). We saw a leopard, which made me cry from the sheer beauty and luck of the moment. The baby lions… honestly, I cried twice because of how special the whole experience was.

Our picnic breakfasts, the sunrises and sundowns in the savannah were another highlight: peaceful, beautiful, and so surreal. Alex always found the perfect spots.

We even decided spontaneously to stay one extra night in the Mara because we couldn’t get enough, and Maryann once again organized everything extremely fast, even though it was already late in the evening.

This trip was beyond anything we ever imagined. Because of Maryann’s perfect planning and Alex’s exceptional guiding, we had the honeymoon of our dreams.

We cannot recommend Splendid Vacations enough, and if you can request Alex as your guide, do it. He turned this safari into one of the most beautiful and emotional experiences of our lives.
