I had an EXQUISITE time. Working with Tony at Friendly Tour Guide Madagascar made everything possible. I highly recommend working with Tony and his team.

I wanted to travel solo for part of my trip, so I carefully researched travel guides and locations. Once I contacted Tony--who has a very good record and reputation for customer service and reliability--he immediately offered to talk in real time on WhatsApp. Our conversation helped me gather a lot more relevant information and narrow my options. From there, we crafted a week-long itinerary.

Importantly: At all times, I felt safe. This includes going into different areas of the country, meeting new people, and traveling by car across some rough terrain. The driver Tony hired was very professional and practiced safe driving habits, even when other drivers did otherwise.

My general advice in planning a trip to Madagascar is to really narrow your priorities because every region of the country is different and unique in its own ways. I would ask Tony a lot of clarifying questions to make sure you understand the type of experience you would be getting. And remember that it often takes longer than you think to travel by road in Madagascar so build in lots of extra time!

I visited Madagascar in September and had the most amazing 16 days with this company.

Everything was simple and straightforward, from communication before arriving, through to meeting the various guides, going on tours and airport drop-off. They were flexible and accommodating to my requests, even last minute changes were possible without any real issues.

I was fortunate enough to travel for most of my trip with Tony who runs the company - he always looked after me and kept me entertained with his stories! Meeting him was one of the trip highlights in itself!

Special mention also to driver Lova who is a fantastic, reliable person with an infectious laugh!!

Overall I highly recommend booking a trip with Friendly Tour Guide Madagascar - you will be in great hands!

Perfectly organised tour to the rain forests east in Madgascar.

Our guide Koleg and his driver took the three of us by car from the capital Antananarivo to Andasibe-Mantadia National Park and back. The trip was perfectly organised, with a comforting hotel and lots of exciting walks in the rain forests, where we saw pleny of lemurs.
Koleg speaks fluently English, French, Malagasy and Japanese. He is very well organised, well informed and has lots of good humour. We recommend Safari bookings.

The communication with the operator was easy and very responsive. The car we got was as described, arrived on time with a very professional driver (which proved himself as super driver on the road to Mantadia Park ) our English speaking guide was very smart with vest knowledge and explained a lot about everything from history through geography botanics and wildlife, and spared us no details. They were also very responsive to special requests for stops and such.

We had a wonderful time on our 4 night 5 day tour. Our trip started with a half day tour in Antananarivo before flying to Morondava for 2 nights. While in Morondava we did a night and day walk at Kirindy forest and spent ample time at Allée des Baobabs. We then flew back to Antananarivo and drove to Andasibe for night and day walks in the forests and wildlife parks. Everything about our trip was seamless and easy. All of our guides were knowledgeable and on time. It was also very easy to modify our itinerary to fit our exact interests. We especially appreciated that this tour included the cost of domestic flights and everything was booked for us. We’d definitely recommend booking with Friendly Tour Guides!
