My time on safari in the Serengeti was nothing short of magical—an unforgettable journey into the heart of Africa’s wildest wilderness. From the moment we set out at dawn, the vast plains stretched endlessly before us, alive with the drama of nature. Witnessing a pride of lions lazing under acacia trees, tracking a herd of wildebeest during their great migration, and even catching a rare glimpse of a leopard in the golden light of sunset—each moment filled me with awe.
What struck me most was the raw beauty and balance of the ecosystem. The early morning game drives, with the cool air and distant birdcalls, felt like stepping into a documentary come to life.
The Serengeti is more than just a safari destination—it’s a place where time slows down, and you truly connect with nature. Hearing the roar of a distant lion at night, sleeping under a blanket of stars, and feeling the thrill of spotting the Big Five in their natural habitat is an experience that stays with you forever. Our recent safari adventure in Tanzania, followed by a week in Zanzibar, was truly the experience of a lifetime for my wife and me. Having traveled to over 100 countries, we can confidently say that Tanzania now ranks among our absolute favorites. This journey surpassed all our expectations, thanks in large part to our outstanding safari guide, Aloise, and our meticulous tour planner, Edward, who orchestrated every detail flawlessly.
Our game drives through the Serengeti, Ngorongoro Crater, and Tarangire National Park brought us incredibly close to the wildlife. Aloise’s expert knowledge of the parks and animal behavior allowed us to witness unforgettable scenes: several lion prides, cheetahs feasting on an antelope, elusive leopards, hyenas scavenging a Cape buffalo, as well as hippos, elephants, and so much more. His passion for wildlife and keen eye ensured we never missed a moment, making every encounter truly special.
Beyond his expertise, Aloise was warm, friendly, and attentive to every aspect of our comfort. His dedication and customer focus made us feel genuinely cared for, and he consistently went above and beyond to make each day memorable.
Our stays at Kubu Kubu Tented Safari Lodge and Lake Manyara Serena Safari Lodge were exceptional combining comfort with breathtaking views of the surrounding wilderness. The hot air balloon ride over the Serengeti at sunrise was a magical highlight, offering a perspective of the plains that we will never forget.
Visiting a Maasai village added a rich cultural dimension to our trip, deepening our appreciation for the people and traditions of this remarkable region.

I participated in the 8-day 7-night animal migration. The guide Aloyce was friendly, polite, and patient, and introduced the living habits of animals very clearly. Amazing Trip
I participated in the 8-day tour. The tour fee was reasonable and the tour guide was friendly. He always paid attention to observe and find animals for us to watch. In addition, the accommodation was good. I appreciated living in the grassland tent the most. The environment was quiet and pleasant, and it had a unique flavor.

Best Tour Guide Ever
As someone who’s fairly well-traveled and usually plans every detail of my trips myself, coming to Africa and relying on a local operator was a bit outside my comfort zone. The sheer number of tour options available is both incredible and overwhelming when you’re just getting started.
Ultimately, I narrowed it down to three operators who responded to my inquiry quickly and thoughtfully. Of those, Amshar (Edward) stood out immediately—he was incredibly responsive, patient, and easy to work with from day one.
Even after booking, I was still unsure about what to expect since I wasn’t in control of every reservation like I usually am—but once I arrived, I was absolutely blown away. From the moment I was picked up at the airport to every hotel check-in and everything in between, the logistics were seamless and so well organized.
The accommodations were fantastic, and our guide, Loth, was hands down the best tour guide I’ve ever had. He was kind, flexible, and always ready to accommodate whatever we needed. The vehicle was stocked with cold water, sodas, and snacks at all times. The music was always up for requests—or full takeovers—and Loth’s insights and information made every moment more enriching.
And all of this was before the actual safari, which was truly a once-in-a-lifetime, life-changing experience. Loth played a huge part in making it so memorable. We chatted, we laughed, we jammed to music—and we saw all the animals. I can’t recommend this experience enough.

We had no idea what we were getting ourselves into, but our guide and now friend, Loth made the experience so memorable. He really knows his stuff- the roads, the different habitats, and how to keep the vibes high! It would not have been the same without him! Whatever they’re paying him isn’t enough! They provided the tour that they promised with care and integrity.
I chose Amshar Serengeti tours from the safari bookings.com. The site recommends that you choose at least 3 tour companies and I chose 5, based on what I wanted, how long I wanted to stay and how much I wanted to spend. All of the companies responded. Initially I was looking at aniother tour company, but I asked them a few questions and the answers were evasive so I sent the same questions to Edward at Amshar. The answers were clear and reasonable. I emailed a number of times with additional questions and requests and always received a prompt and clear answer.
I arrived a couple of days early and Leoni messaged me to make sure that everything had gone as expected and that I was well. The driver, Kevin, picked me up at the airport and drove me to the hotel, providing valuable information about the country along the way. The Tulsa Boutique Hotel and Spa was ready to serve me dinner as soon as I was ready. A lovely start to my safari.
Alouis, my driver, met me at the hotel on the morning we started to Tarangire National Park. He was very pleasant and accommodating. He was determined that I would have the best safari possible. He was always willing to stop if I wanted to take a picture and ever-vigilant to point out animals that I had missed. It was an amazing adventure. Please note that I am 70 years old and was travelling on my own. I felt safe yet adventurous throughout the entire trip. Thank you Alouis and Amshar Serengeti adventures.
