Excellently planned and executed to fit your individual preferences
From the start I was very impressed by how responsive and efficient Frank the owner of Golden Rwanda Safaris was in engaging and replying all my queries via email after I had submitted my enquiry via safaribookings.com. His responses were reassuring and the most thorough amongst all the other agencies that had responded following my general enquiry on the website. He was able to make the proper suggestions and cater to my need to focus on history as well as nature and animals when coming up with my itinerary and was very accomodating to make inclusions according to my preferences. I left the accommodation selection up to his recommendation and I was not disappointed. It was a good mix of varying types of accomodations from high end hotels and resorts to rustic lodges in the forest, by lake Ihema and the Karenge bush tent lodge overlooking the expansive plains of Akagera National park. All the accomodations were very comfortable and beautiful with friendly and helpful staff and excellent service.
My guide and driver Dady was an absolute gem. He was very knowledgeable, reliable and knew the best way to plan the day and the sequence in which activities of the day could best be done. He was essential at making sure that this was a memorable first, but definitely not the last, time I visit Africa. He was able to advise me on what to expect for the different activities and what were the key essential things to learn from each place visited. He did an excellent job at driving long distances safely with appropriate breaks and was very good at spotting wild life and explaining interesting and important facts about the animals during the Akagera Safari Drives. Dady was able to explain about the history of Rwanda and other activities of daily life and the Rwandan Culture which was interesting and good for discussion.
I was also very glad that we could add the night drive at Karenge Lodge at the last minute because it was a truly different experience, and it was great to observe the difference in the behaviours of the animals during the day and night. Gorilla Trekking as a highlight was truly magical and so were the other treks from Chimpanzees in Nyungwe national park, Colobus and golden monkey trekking and the Dian Fossey Memorial trek. It was great to see that these conservation efforts were also able to support the local community and in turn encourage them to care for and protect the animals around them.
The itinerary was well planned and I did appreciate the 2 nights of rest and relaxation on opposite shores of Lake Kivu as well as the boat ride across it. This was before the slightly more intensive treks at Volcanoes National Park so I was well rested and ready to fully immerse myself in the experiences at Volcanoes national park. I did request to see the UNESCO heritage genocide memorials and I appreciated the 4 different ones that I managed to visit that were close to each of the key regions we were headed to over this 13 day trip. Each were well curated and unique in their own way and all had powerful messages to share.
Rwanda and Golden Rwanda Safaris has definitely made this a superb bucket list travel destination for me. Thank you Frank and team!

Outstanding experience
Top, top trip. Outstanding Gorilla safari experience. Something special to trek in steep and dense terrain for 2 hrs and then being immersed by a gorilla family and see them thrive in their natural habitat. We were very well taken care of. Everything worked as per plan. Great communication follow up. Mr T (our driver/guide) was simply excellent. Highly recommended

Fantastic trip to Rwanda

A magnificent adventure through Rwanda extremely well organized
We were advised by locals to select Golden Rwanda Safaris, and we do absolutely not regret this advice.
From designing the trip to our wishes to delivering a premium service all along the trip. Being able to adapt to events (for example rain) or to suggest improvements to the trip itself.
We had with Taufique a young, energetic, and very knowledgeable guide, driving us through the country during seven days. He is very nice and knows everybody in the country, so can be of help anytime.
The experience of discovering Rwanda is in itself something exceptional. And Golden Rwanda Safaris made it even stronger than expected.
We recommend them fully.

Taufique was an exeptional guide and even more so, an exeptional person. We left Rwanda and Golden Rwanda Safaris with wonderful memories that we will carry with us for life now. Beyond extraordinary amazing
I’ve searched a lot for a tour company to go for the gorilla trekking tour and finally found Golden Rwanda Safaris that meets my budget, good reviews and decided to book.
I’ve went the tour with Taufique who’s extremely amazing guide, very knowledgeable, and very respectful. My overall experience is extremely satisfied, and would definitely recommend it to anyone looking to enjoy such experience in Rwanda!

Flexible
Sufiane was timely and flexible as we did the safari with our 3 year old and 1 year old child. He communicated well and was knowledgeable about the animals. Great! value! My only suggestion for improvement is for him to stay longer at some notable sitings, such as more rare animals (rhino) or large groups of animals (like a herd of elephants).

Great vacation in Rwanda
Very progressive country. View of the countryside is eye pleasing, very clean and roads are mostly all well paved. Chimpanzee and gorilla trekking are a bit a challenge, exciting but also satisfying when successful. Our tour company guides took care of us very well. 100% reliable. Thank you
