An unforgettable safari experience with Savannah Woods Safaris
Our experience with Savannah Woods Safaris was incredible and exceeded our expectations. From the beginning, Lucy was extremely responsive, patient and helpful, answering all our questions quickly and understanding exactly what we were looking for.
Our guide, Sam, was absolutely fantastic. He is extremely knowledgeable about wildlife and the parks, and we learned so much from him, not only about the animals, but also about Kenyan culture and the different communities. He clearly loves what he does and made a huge effort to understand our priorities in each park and adapt to our wishes.
The game drives were unforgettable. We visited Maasai Mara, Lake Nakuru, Lake Naivasha and Amboseli, and had incredible sightings, including a leopard and a black rhino in Maasai Mara, as well as both white and black rhinos in Lake Nakuru. Sam’s knowledge of the parks and animals was impressive, and he always knew where to go while keeping our preferences in mind.
The 4x4 Land Cruiser was comfortable and in very good condition, and everything was perfectly organized and punctual throughout the safari.
We would 100% recommend Savannah Woods Safaris to anyone looking for a safari in Kenya, whether it’s your first safari, a couple’s trip, or a safari combined with other activities. We would absolutely book with them again.

Organising a trip to a country you don’t know, in a language you don’t fully master, can be quite stressful. But Lucy was always available, attentive and full of great advice. I really appreciated being able to communicate with someone so dedicated, who took the time to answer all my questions and take all my expectations into account. Thanks to her, we were able to have a completely tailor-made safari, exactly as we had imagined it.
A huge thank you as well to Nicholas, our guide and driver throughout this week travelling through Kenya’s national parks. He gave his all every single day to help us discover as many animals as possible and make sure we had the best experience. Always cheerful, passionate and attentive, it was a real pleasure to see him every morning and set off on another adventure together. I will have wonderful memories of this week spent with him.
Amboseli, Tsavo West, Tsavo East… incredible landscapes, animals I never thought I would be able to see so close, and above all, memories that I will cherish for the rest of my life.

Excellent organisation and experience
The safari we booked with Savanah Woods was very well organized from the very beginning. First, we received a detailed itinerary, so we knew exactly what to expect and when.
Communication was smooth, quick, and very friendly. Everything was carried out exactly as described in the itinerary.
In particular, I would like to highlight our guide, Mr. Alex, who was always friendly, warm, and dedicated to making sure we had the best possible safari experience. Thanks to him, we were able to see not only the Big Five, but even the Big Nine!
The only thing that could be improved would be a little more direct communication about what happens on the day itself (driving times, duration of stops, etc.).
Overall, it was an unforgettable safari experience, and we would definitely book here again!

The Right Partner for your Safari needs in Kenya!
We were recommended by a dear friend in Nairobi to Josphat of Savannah Woods Safaris. Right from the beginning during the time of booking, the communication was superlative, polite, professional and emphatic to our needs. That service carried on when we landed in Nairobi at 5.45am on Sep 2 where we were first warmly welcomed by our guide Moses and then Josphat himself came over to wish us a great safari ahead.
Moses then took over an exhilarating 4 and half day trip for us, starting with Nakuru and then 3 days in Masai Mara. All the days were different, brilliant and once in a lifetime experience. Moses is funny, knowledgeable about animals and the right way to reach them. He made our trip extremely special by ensuring being present at the right time to capture the best moment for us on every occasion.
There are so many highlights to mention…flamingoes and rhinos in Nakuru…
lions, leopards, cheetahs, elephants, hippos ….all basking in their elements.
A bush picnic lunch provided by our excellent hotel Zebra Valley.
A morning hot air balloon experience followed by champagne and an elaborate bush breakfast.
Ah…the list could go on.
Suffice it to say that you are in good hands with Josphat, Moses and the team at Savannah Woods Safaris. Will highly recommend them to anyone wishing to experience their once-in-lifetime Kenya trip!!

Excellent service and communication
We really enjoyed our overnight to Amboseli with our guide, Ken. Communication was super easy before and during booking. Ken was a great guide and driver. We stayed at Amboseli Serena for one night and it was perfect and welcoming. Would recommend!

Lucy was my correspondence via email and arranged for a perfect itinerary for me. She was patient and explained every step of the itinerary before finalising it.
In Kenya, Joseph took me around Nairobi and showed me very interesting sights and places to try local cuisine.
For Amboseli and Naivasha, Mr. Jackson was a very knowledgeable guide who went out of his way to show me all species of birds and animals.

Great first safari!
My teenaged son and I traveled to Kenya for our first ever safari, and it was a wonderful experience! I did a ton of research beforehand, and Savannah Woods was one of the few operators that was able to give me everything that I was looking for and also fit our budget. They replied promptly and made any requested changes.
We did a three-day safari in the Maasai Mara with Kenneth as our guide. Ken was amazing and had 14 years of experience guiding all over Kenya. He had a great sense of humor and was happy to answer all of our questions, plus he was impressive at spotting animals and was a safe and considerate driver. We were able to see lions, a cheetah, a dozen elephants, and more zebras and wildebeest than you can count. A great first safari experience!

Best Safari!
Our first safari and visit to Kenya/Africa was an amazing and unforgettable experience. We contacted several safari companies and chose Savannah Woods Safari because we felt we could rely on Lucy, who very kindly responded to all of our questions and requests with great care and professionalism. Lucy and Josphat gave us safari souvenirs the day before our trip began, which already made the trip special.
Henry, our safari guide, made the experience truly exceptional. He constantly communicated with other guides and helped us find the animals we most wanted to see. Thanks to him, we were able to witness incredible wildlife, including lions—a family feeding on a buffalo and a mating couple—leopards emerging from the bush and walking toward us, as well as cheetahs, elephants, rhinos, and beautiful sunrise and sunset. The bush lunch under Henry’s favorite tree was one of the highlights of our trip!
We had a 5-day safari, starting from Maasai Mara and continuing to Lake Nakuru and Lake Naivasha. Lucy arranged everything and it became our lifetime experience!
