David was our guide and he was fantastic! Told us so much about Uganda.
5/5

We celebrated our 25th wedding anniversary and had an amazing time. The wild life herds are huge, more than we've seen growing up in Zimbabwe or South Africa. We saw more leopards than we've seen in our entire life. We just walked calmly alongside the gorillas, watching them live and enjoy life. The food was amazing! So fresh and full of taste. The people were friendly and welcoming. It truly was a wonderful whirlwind of a holiday. Due to COVID checks and all that back then, Speke had someone come from the clinic to do our COVID test at our hotel before we flew out. Little things like that, they took care of the details so we could relax and enjoy Uganda.

Fantastic visit, unforgettable experience
5/5

We had a very short trip to Uganda to visit the mountain gorillas as part of a bigger trip to Africa. The experience was truly magical and unforgettable. Our driver and guide Warren was excellent. He had plentiful knowledge about the area and was happy to answer our questions and spoke very good English. He was always punctual and managed well on the chaotic Ugandan roads. We thought the gorilla trek in Bwindi Impenetrable Forest felt like very sustainable tourism. The gorillas and our safety were top priority. We found the gorillas fairly quickly and got to spend an hour watching their behaviours and saw many gorillas. It was absolutely amazing!! Communication with Speke Uganda prior to the trip was a little slow and not a lot of information was given except from a basic itinerary, but this didn't phase us as everything worked out well and there was Warren holding a sign with out name when we landed at the airport! Although the trip was expensive for 5 days, a big chunk of this was for the gorilla permit which gets redirected into the surrounding community and to the trackers/rangers helping to protect the gorilla populations. We would definitely use the company again.

Thank you Speke.

The Kigali city tour and Rwanda gorilla trek were well organised and incredible! Julius our guide was very informative and friendly. He was also very helpful - he went out of his way to help when I was unwell. Totally recommend Julius and Speke. Thank you!

An absolutely reliable and highly recommended tour operator
5/5

We have just returned from our wonderful trip to Uganda with Speke and we are deeply impressed by this country with its incredible friendly people, diverse experiences and especially our tour operator Speke Uganda.
Before booking we had some concerns about whether a non German operator would actually implement everything reliable and according to our wishes.
We can now confirm this 100 %!
The Safari was professional planned and all our questions were promptly and kindly answered in advance.
Above all this is thanks to our driver VINCENT, who tried to fulfill every wish for us. He safely navigated us through every traffic chaos and African massage roads, showed us beautiful spots and answered all our questions. We left him as a friend and miss him.
We liked all the accommodations of our mid range tour. Each accommodation was unique. We also liked the car because of its size and the roof which could be opened. The price performance ratio of the Safari was absolutely reasonable.
We can only recommend Speke highly!

Stress-free, amazing experience!
5/5

Traveling with Speke and our guide, Afrikano, was wonderful. From the start Speke and Tony were responsive, thorough, and excited for us to visit Uganda - our first trip to Africa. The team asked our preferences and created a wonderful trip throughout much of the country. Our lodgings and food were great. The entire trip was stress-free and easy. Afrikano is a wealth of knowledge about the country and its animals. There was not a question we asked him he did not know the answer to. He is also an excellent wildlife spotter! We were in great hands from start to finish and I could not recommend Speke more. We will definitely be back.

Uganda birding and wildlife tour – SUPER guide, varied habitat for animals, friendly people
5/5

Our small group of four spent 11 days touring Uganda primarily to see birds and other wildlife. Our guide, Nelson, was the best guide I’ve ever had. He was so knowledgeable, and interested in, birds particularly, but was also very knowledgeable about other animals. His prior experience as a national park ranger was also invaluable when it came to navigating the roads in the parks and finding animals. Not only was Nelson super knowledgeable, he had a great sense of humor and was always kind and considerate.

Our accommodations were very pleasant. Our provided Landcruiser also worked well for our group.

Uganda has so much to offer with its varied habitat, culture, abundance and concentration of birds and friendly people. I can’t wait to go back.

Wonderful trip and more than we expected
5/5

We just arrived back at home after great two weeks in Uganda and want to thank Speke Uganda Holidays (partner of our German agency Diamir Erlebnisreisen) for a great vacation. We experienced so much more than we expected, that we really can't name only one highlight of the trip. As we booked the tour, we thought Uganda ist special because of the Gorillatracking in Bwindi Impenetrable Nationalpark and Mgahinga Nationalpark and because of the Chimpanzeetracking in Kibale Nationalpark. But Uganda showed us so much more: for example the Murchison Falls Nationalpark with its impressive waterfall and wildlife we saw on a game drive and by boat. Just as special the crater landscape of the Queen-Elizabeth Nationalpark besides a interesting meeting with some hippos next to the road enjoying their mud bath. We also loved our stay at Lake Mutanda and Lake Mburo, where we faced some giraffes on a walking safari three meters away.
But our vacation wouldn't have been so special if our guide Robert hadn't taught us so much about his country. Because of that, we have to thank him a lot. He showed us pineapple-, banana- and teaplantations, explained us much about the agriculture, people and wildlife in Uganda and teached us some words in Swahili and Luganda. But we will certainly need more help with that. :-)
Asante sana Robert and Speke Uganda Holidays!

Speke Uganda Holidays was wonderful in making my trip to stunning Uganda just perfect!
5/5

If anyone has thought about visiting Uganda, I say, Go, the first chance you have! It is a truly breathtaking Country, with unrivalled topographical beauty, lovely and warm culture and peoples, and magnificent wildlife and nature preserves and sustainable initiatives.
I took a 3-week trip to Africa last November and December, and Uganda was a last minute addition as the final leg of my larger trip. As such, I was only in the country for three days. My Trip was booked through an American travel company Timbuktu Travel, who employed Partner Tour Companies in each Country that I visited. Speke Uganda was my partner there. I cannot say enough about their excellent care of me.

My Primary guide, Africano, was really friendly, knowledgeable and took great care in making plans for me, based on my input of the things in which I'd expressed interest. He was really great for the entirety of my visit.

I did a life-changing Gorilla trek tracking the Rushegura Gorillas at the Blind Impenetrable National Park. The trackers, trek guides and trekking porter were all top! Excellent and really fun and helpful in capturing pictures and videos and sharing useful information. It was breathtaking.

I then did a cultural tour of the area, going around with another excellent guide, who showed me many of the specific groups working to educate travellers to Ugandan cultural and life, and work for the betterment of women and children, and all Ugandans. Again, spectacular.

My hotel was lovely and the staff there was great, and Africano checked in with me regularly across my trip to ensure I was happy and ok.

Tony called me personally one day to help me navigate some currency confusion I was having, and the team at Speke rectified everything for me graciously so that I could finish my trip with no stress. I'm really grateful for that part particularly as it really was a stressful moment, made better by their care.

On my final day, I had a very long Layover in Entebbe, and so, Speke made me a day reservation at yet another beautiful hotel, so that I could relax in peace and see a bit more of Uganda before leaving.

All in all, the only thing I can say is that I wish that I had had at least another week in the Country to explore all of the other things that I hadn't had time to see. Africano gave me a host of recommendations of different regions of Uganda so that I can plan for my next trip. I am already back, in my mind, and will absolutely contact Speke Uganda to help me with my plans! Thank you ever so much for your kind care of me!

SIMPLY THE BEST, BETTER THAN ALL THE REST !!!
5/5

My holiday in Uganda far exceeded all my expectations and I'm very happy to post this review to say thank you to all at Speke Uganda holidays for making it happen. I spent a long time researching all the operators and trip reviews to find a company with an itinerary and ethos that best suited my wishes. Speke came out tops with the 14-Day Gorilla Adventure Tour. Isabella in the office was ever patient with me in through the booking and enquiry stage. There were issues with international transfers from France but I believe this to be a Uganda 'problem' not Speke's. Julius was our guide and he was amazing! His knowledge and obvious passion and pride in his work and for his country made every day an adventure and a new learning opportunity. Part of the joy of booking group travel is just this, having the local knowledge to hand. Julius was a excellent guide, good company to us 4 Brits (one couple and 2 singles). He was ever attentive to our needs, stopping for endless photos en route and making sure we were well briefed each evening for the following days activities. He kept the truck clean with large bottles of water in the cooler for us to fill our own metal Speke Uganda refillable bottles. These were gifted from Tony (Speke MD) along with some Ugandan coffee and a Uganda Rwanda road/NP map in a beautiful recycled paper Speke folder. Tony called me personally whilst I was on the trip to check everything was ok and to get some 'on the road' feedback. A nice touch and shows the responsibility to client satisfaction that I felt throughout. We also had a surprise sundowner drinks set up on our evening drive in Ishasha Park which was very special. I celebrated my birthday the day of the Gorilla trek in Bwindi and this magical day was made even more memorable by being greeted with song and a cake from the team at the wonderful BirdNest Resort. The highlights of the trip were undoubtedly the chimp and gorilla treks where we had amazing experiences but also the unexpected majesty and force of the Murchison River Falls and the multitude of wildlife and sheer delight of the boat trip through the Kazinga Channel. So much more to Uganda than I ever expected - the ever changing landscapes, the green, it's so green! The wildlife, the primates, the birds! The people; warm, friendly and always smiling. The fact that you never felt you were on a conveyor belt of tourism (as you can do in other safari destinations). And not forgetting the food especially the range and availability of delicious vegetables (again something missing from other African destinations). Without question I will return to see more and I'll definitely choose to travel again with Speke.
