A Perfect Choice for Our First Safari Adventure
At this moment, I am back home with a joyful heart, ready to pen down this heartfelt review.
Before our trip, we compared several tour companies on Safaribookings and finally chose Meru Slope. Looking back, selecting Meru Slope as our guide for our first African safari was the best decision we could have made.
From the beginning, Manager Almachius made us feel at ease with his timely responses on WhatsApp, answering all our questions. Upon our arrival, he personally greeted us at the hotel, thoroughly explaining the itinerary. On the last day of our journey, Almachius came to the hotel to see us off, which deeply touched us. This personal warmth made us feel like we had a true friend in Tanzania, not just a service provider.
Our safari guide, Mr. Florian, was incredibly patient, professional, and friendly. With his extensive knowledge of safari wildlife and excellent driving skills, he accompanied us on our four-day safari. Thanks to his experience, we spotted the Big Five on the vast plains of the Serengeti and captured many breathtaking moments. By the way, Florian has an amazing Samsung phone that takes much clearer photos than iPhones—so much so that I borrowed it to take some pictures! Florian also answered all our questions about the safari with great expertise. Moreover, he was thoughtful enough to remember our favorite vegetables, ensuring that every picnic was filled with fresh and delicious meals.
A special shout-out goes to the warm, friendly, and energetic Victor, who waited two hours to pick us up at the airport on the first day. Despite the delay, he greeted us with a big smile, played great music in the car, and kept us entertained with his fun questions. His enthusiasm for his work was contagious. On the last day, Victor took us to Moshi Town, where we admired the pristine beauty of Kilimanjaro’s snow-capped peak. He also introduced us to Tanzania’s hidden treasure—a dreamy natural blue forest pool. There, we even enjoyed a unique fish massage, which truly made our day!
Every day, the accommodations and meals were excellent. We especially loved Arusha Planet Lodge and Embalakai Ngorongoro Camp. The former felt like a garden retreat in Bali, while the latter, situated between a Maasai village and an acacia forest, offered both cultural richness and breathtaking wildlife views. We spotted groups of giraffes surrounding the campground and that was a legit Alice wonderland. The staff were incredibly friendly, the rooms were spotless, and the location was simply magical. We wish we could have stayed there longer!
Finally, a huge thank you to Victor, Florian, and Almachius for making our Tanzanian journey unforgettable. Meru Slope provided us with not just a safari, but a once-in-a-lifetime adventure filled with memories to cherish forever. We wholeheartedly recommend Meru Slope to anyone considering a trip to Tanzania. Best wishes for your continued success!

One of the most incredible experiences of my life.
One of the most incredible experiences of my life. We spent one day in Tarangire, three days between Serengeti and Ndutu to witness the Great Migration, and one day in Ngorongoro, and everything was perfect. Our guide, Salehe, was extremely knowledgeable, answered all our questions, and made us feel in excellent hands—much of this amazing experience is thanks to him. The locations were stunning, and even in the tented lodges within the parks, the services and staff were top-notch. The organization was flawless, and everyone was very accommodating, even to needs that went beyond the safari itself.

Amazing!
We were taken care of from A to Z.
From the arrival at Arusha airport, until the departure from it. They organized everything. Everything was very well done. The food was very good, to drink, to eat at will.
The parks were great, we were very lucky to see 4/5 big five and many others! Taken on board the vehicle. Everything was great.

Extremely knowledgeable, so likable, very patient, cheerful and helpful.
Best adventure ever! Our guide Douglas was outstanding and filled each day with amazing views of zebras, wildebeests, giraffes, elephants, buffalo, antelopes, and birds. And lions, cheetahs and even elusive leopards were spotted.
We really enjoyed the easy-going banter that our guide had with his colleagues. It made the trip so pleasant and stress free.

Friendly and competent
A very nice Tour with great experiences, friendly staff. Everyone worked very hard. A car break down in the Serengeti was managed competently and solutions were quickly found.

Meru Slopes was easy to work with and gave us exactly what we wanted in a private tour.
I can highly recommend Meru Slopes Tours and especially our guide/driver Nuru, who really made the trip memorable for my family. He is knowledgeable and easygoing, and showed great expertise both in finding the wildlife, telling us about them and driving in very challenging conditions. We arranged this private tour online and were able to get exactly what we wanted on the dates we chose. The accommodations and food were good and Nuru really fit well with my family.

A very well organized Company you can trust and count on if you have any problems.
We cannot thank enough Gift for being so nice with us all the time, always accomodating our extra requests. When we've arrived to Dar Es Salaam our luggage was lost and we had our safari booked for the day after. Meru Slope helped us in buying last minute the most important items we were missing and off we went. We had a time of our lives, our driver and guide Robert was super as we have seen so many beatiful animals (all the big 5 and we completed the 9 and ugly 5 too) Everything was way behind our expectations , nothing was feeling budget. The food was always delicious too and our chef Gideon even managed in improvizing a birthday party for me on the first night ! Last but not least they even helped us in contacting the lost&found office, and finally retrieved our luggage and took us to Arusha Airport to collect it.
Definitely we highly recommend Meru Slope for your experience in Tanzania.

Safari and Kilimanjaro
Meru slopes is a great choice for budget experience as nothing felt budget. Almacius was very responsive and answered all our questions before the trip and customised our trip according to our wishes.
Safari:
Safari experience was amazing. Our driver/guide Andrew is a real professional! Great attitude, very organised, knows so much about animals and local vegetation. His eyesight is insane, he spored animals so far away and animals that very hiding very well. Our chef Gidion always prepared something new and so delicious. Also he has amazing attitude and created always fun and light atmosphere. Guys took amazing care of us. The best!
Kilimanjaro:
Well it was just simply dream come true. During hard times our guides Kennedy and Julius made sure not just for us to stay safe but also keep us in the best mood possible. They adjusted hiking speed according to out capabilities. They kept good company as well! Every evening we had briefings that made sure we prepared for the next day. Also wow, Kennedy knows so much about Kilimanjaro wild life and vegetation. Was super interesting to learn about this wonderful place! Also our chef cooked epic meals and every dish was different. What strikes me the most, that we were worried about the amount of food that will be available to us, so we took lots of protein bars, but wow, there was so much food we had to ask to cook less as we simply cannot eat that much. Did not touch my protein bars at all. Thanks guys!
Some negatives:
Although experience was really good, I think its important to note few things.
In our offer it was said that local sim car is included so we could have internet and etc. We did not get them. When we asked for it, there was always something - oh do you really need it for Kilimanjaro. Oh well sim card guy is somewhere, so if you want you can wait for an hour or more till he is back, but will go to Safari later in this case. However in these days its super easy and cheap to get e-sim, so just get one and there will be no problem.
Another thing to note, be aware of the tipping! Even tho the offer mentions it, the description is not accurate at all. So just read on it, there is a lot of information on how much and to whom.
