Excellent, dependable, and accommodating safari tour company
Meru Slopes gave us an amazing and unforgettable safari experience. From initial contact our dealings with expert coordinator, Gift Tempo were wonderful. Gift expertly and kindly answered our multitude of questions and continued to transform our private safari until it was exactly as we had envisioned. Gift Tempo even dealt superbly with a last minute change on the 9th day. Gift was extremely accommodating and continually making sure we had an awesome, memorable safari experience. Jacob was our remarkable tour guide and driver! Jacob drove the Safari jeep, spotted so many different animals, taught us about Tanzania and the wildlife, taught us some Swahili words and phrases, took extremely great care of us, and felt like a wonderful, close friend by the end of our safari! It was because of Jacob that we saw the Mara River crossing twice! We also saw the great migration (herds of wildebeest and zebras, sometimes passing right in front of our jeep.) Jacob showed us a lion kill and a leopard kill. We saw cheetahs, lots of lions, elephants, buffalos, giraffes, hippos, rhinos, and many different antelopes. Jacob also pointed out many rare birds and had a bird book with him to show us their names. We saw many other jeeps broken down, but never a Meru Slopes jeep. We stayed at the hotels, lodges, and tented camps that Meru Slopes recommended and we liked them all. It is so true that the company (Meru Slopes) and the people (Gift Tempo and Jacob) make or break your African Safari experience. We had the BEST (along with the other Meru Slopes employees that supported them.) We are recommending Meru Slopes Tours, Gift Tempo, and Jacob to everyone! Thank you for an amazing “Once-in-a-lifetime” safari experience!

An unforgettable safari with Meru Slopes and our amazing guide Ombeni
We had a wonderful safari with Meru Slopes! 🐾 From the itinerary planning to the accommodation arrangements, everything was thoughtfully organised. The team was professional, responsive, and always happy to help. The pricing was reasonable, and the entire trip ran smoothly from start to finish.
🌟 A special thank you to our guide, Ombeni, who truly made this trip unforgettable. With over 10 years of guiding experience, he was incredibly knowledgeable and had an amazing eye for spotting wildlife. He could spot even tiny animals far in the distance that we would never have noticed ourselves! Whenever we casually mentioned an animal we hoped to see, he remembered and kept an eye out for it.
📸 Ombeni also knew exactly where to position the vehicle, giving us fantastic views and wonderful photo opportunities. One of the biggest highlights was witnessing the wildebeest river crossing just five minutes after arriving that morning. We felt incredibly lucky! 🦓
🌿 His knowledge of the animals, their behaviour, and the local plants was impressive. Whatever we asked, he always had an insightful answer. Each day’s route was thoughtfully planned, and his kind, friendly personality made spending time with him a real pleasure.
We came home with amazing photos and even better memories. Highly recommend Meru Slopes, and especially Ombeni, to anyone planning a safari! ❤️

A Trip of a Lifetime with Meru Slopes
We had an absolutely wonderful experience with Meru Slopes Tours & Safaris.
From the booking process to the end of our trip, everything was very well organized. Gift Tembo, who assisted us with our booking was responsible, responsive, and he took care of all our needs. All the logistics went smoothly, and several of our lodges had prepared special decorations for our honeymoon. These thoughtful touches made our trip even more memorable and personal.
A special thank-you to our driver-guide Rashid, who was excellent throughout the safari. He was highly experienced, knowledgeable, and professional. We worked really well together as a team, so that we were able to make the most of every day. Besides his expertise and understanding of the wildlife, he is also a very kind-hearted person, who's always ready to help anyone in need. Thanks to the wonderful teamwork, we were fortunate enough to witness a wildebeest river crossing, see all of the Big Five, and enjoy so many other incredible wildlife encounters.
Also a thank-you to Edson, who showed us great hospitality when we first arrived in Arusha, and planned for us a nice trip around Chemka and Matertuni Waterfalls.
I was a bit worried before leaving for the trip, cuz all the contact I had was with Gift. It was a relief to see Edson waiting for us at the aiport when we arrive, but it could be better if this information is provided beforehand. Luckily, everything turned out better than our expectations.
This was truly a trip of a lifetime, and Meru Slopes played a big part in making it so special. We would happily recommend them to anyone planning a safari in Tanzania.

Everything you can experience on safari with an experienced ranger
It’s been a month since our honeymoon in the Serengeti, but the memories are still as vivid as ever.
Andrew, who has 26 years of experience as a ranger, spent a whole week exploring the Serengeti with us, showing us incredible things and sharing his extensive knowledge along the way.
Since we booked a private safari, Andrew was both our guide and driver. His driving skills were excellent, but his guiding skills were simply beyond words. He never hesitated to answer any of our questions and always did his best to give us a thoughtful and informative answer. His ability to spot wildlife was absolutely incredible, and we often ended up returning to our lodge later than planned because there were just so many amazing animals to see!
What made the experience even more special was that Andrew never treated us as just clients. He always put our comfort and needs first, and his warm personality and entertaining stories kept us engaged even during long drives.
Andrew genuinely loves both animals and people, and he may well be the most wonderful person I met during my time in Tanzania — or perhaps even during all my travels.
I sometimes wonder if the animals could sense what a special person he is, too! We had the extraordinary experience of a young leopard crawling right underneath our vehicle, and we managed to spot all of the Big Five as well as the Ugly Five.
Our itinerary was quite tight, but Andrew did an amazing job of accommodating our schedule. On our last day, he even suggested changing the itinerary to a better option. Had we stuck to our original plan, we might not have made our flight on time. His judgment and consideration made all the difference.
Our safari was as safe, seamless, and unforgettable as it was because we had Andrew with us.
If you’re considering booking with Meru Slopes, don’t hesitate — just go for it! You’ll be in excellent hands. We couldn’t recommend them more highly!

Responsible and trustworthy.
The communication is smooth and efficient. Meru slopes did deliver what was promised and the reply was always in time. The guides are professional and most of the staffs we encountered during the trip were helpful. The tipping part at the trekking was different from what we learned from internet and others' experience; though we do hope that the tips were distributed to those who deserve it.

The Perfect Safari Experience
We had an amazing experience with Meru Slopes and I would definitely recommend them!
From the very beginning, Gift was helping us through WhatsApp and was always very kind and patient, answering all of our questions and helping us organize everything before the trip. It made us feel very safe and well taken care of.
Our guide, Joel, was absolutely amazing! He was very knowledgeable, attentive and, most importantly, really wanted us to have the best experience possible. He was always looking for animals and explaining everything to us. We saw so many incredible things during the safari, and I honestly think having a good guide makes a huge difference — and Joel was definitely a great one!
Our cook, Buga, also deserves a special mention. The food was much better than we expected for a camping safari! Every meal was delicious and he always prepared everything with so much care.
Another thing we really appreciated was that our time in Arusha before and after the safari was included in the package. They picked us up at the airport, took us back after the trip, and everything was very well organized. We also had a guide take us around Arusha and show us a little bit of the city, which was a really nice extra.
Overall, we felt very well taken care of from the moment we arrived until the moment we left. The whole experience was much more than just the safari itself. It was organized, safe, fun and full of amazing memories.

An incredible experience we’ll never forget
We had an amazing safari experience with Meru Slopes Tours. Everything was very well organized from start to finish and communication was excellent throughout.
The team was friendly, professional and always willing to help. We felt completely taken care of during the entire experience. Our safari days in Tarangire and the Ngorongoro Crater were absolutely unforgettable, with so many incredible wildlife sightings and beautiful landscapes.
The whole trip ran smoothly, including transportation, accommodation and meals. A special thank you to Ignas for his kindness, great communication and for making sure everything was arranged for us.

An Amazing Safari Experience – Highly Recommended
I had an amazing experience on this safari. Everything was very well organized from beginning to end, and I was lucky enough to see all of the Big Five, as well as many other incredible animals.
The accommodations were good and the food was also very good throughout the trip.
I would especially like to mention the team. Gift Tembo was my sales advisor and was very helpful throughout the booking process. Evans was my guide, and he was excellent — very attentive, knowledgeable, and always making sure I got to see the animals I was hoping for. Thanks to him, I was able to see everything I wanted, including all of the Big Five.
Dulla, the chef, was also wonderful. He was very attentive to my needs and always made sure I was happy with the food, especially regarding my dietary needs and any allergies.
I was traveling alone, and throughout the entire safari I always felt very safe and well taken care of. The whole team was incredibly kind and attentive, which made the experience even better.
Overall, everything went perfectly and I would definitely recommend this safari experience!

Unforgettable experience with customized plan
Fantastic end-to-end experience with this company! Wilfred supported me from the begining, organizing a customized safari tour, sharing all the details in advance and providing a constant support until the end, logistic from and to the airport included. And we enjoyed a fantastic experience with our driver Daniel, who showed us amazing landscapes and helped us during the full journey. We also delighted the good meals preparared by the chef.
