Good safari and excellent driver, but we lost trust in the operator
We did a private safari tour in Tanzania in June 2026 and, in terms of the safari itself, it was a good experience. The lodges were comfortable, the locations matched the program, and before the trip the operator was very responsive and answered all our questions in detail.
Our driver‑guide was excellent: safe driving, very good knowledge of the parks and animal behavior, he really tried to show us as much as possible and adjusted to our wishes. We would gladly recommend him personally.
Unfortunately, our overall impression of the operator is very negative because of what happened with the airport transfer that was included in our package. On the last day nobody came to pick us up for the airport, the operator did not answer our messages, and we had to order a taxi ourselves, wait for about an hour and almost missed our flight (we were only saved by a schedule change).
After the trip I wrote to the operator and explained the situation with the missed transfer in detail, but we never received any reply or apology.
Before this incident we had already recommended this company to several friends, but after such a serious failure and complete lack of reaction we no longer trust this operator and cannot recommend the company to others, even though the safari itself and the driver were very good.

Posted on Jun 23, 2026Dear Olya
trust this email finds you well. I'm Amos Lufumbilo, the managing Director of Migration Venture Africa. On behalf of the company, I would like to apologise for all what happened with your drop off on the last day. I was not informed by Francis until I saw your review; that's when I asked the logistics team what happened with your drop-off. The appointed driver for the drop was late and failed to communicate with the office which was unfair and unprofessional. We have taken measures, but I know any apologies won't make the difference since you had a very bad experience with the airport drop-off. We are fine with paying an amount to cover your airport transfer. I have also notified the logistics team about the late response to your email regarding this matter and take measures to them to the late response.
Once again, I apologize for what happened. Also, rest assured that all the clients you recommended will have the best experience; it's the first time we've come across this kind of experience
With Kind Regards
Amos

Tour company was ok with changes and not descriptive itinerary but their driver Israel was amazing
Tour company is ok. We had a Lodging cancellation for Ndutu during the migration season and had to recommend staying closer to Ngorongoro created to even have the opportunity to see it on our last day (it was in the itinerary for the last day but because of permit times we would not have been able to see it otherwise). So we had to sacrifice time in Ndutu or crater when both were in itinerary for day 6 and 7. With that being said our driver Israel was amazing and loves and respects the animals in their habitat. Even when others were breaking the rules in Serengeti he maintained the respect of the land and animals. It is nature so there are no guarantees but we saw so much, the big 5 and cheetahs. I give 3 stars because our driver and that side was perfect but company can use improvement in itinerary, permit knowledge to clients (because sometimes we had to leave first thing in morning to be out of parks in time), and responding to clients on changes when they said they would even if they are already on safari.

The safari was mega nice, the tour operator I would not recommend
We agreed at the time of booking that we would receive a German-speaking guide. As I thought something might go wrong in advance, I reminded them the day before the safari that we wanted a German-speaking guide (as agreed). Unfortunately, an English-speaking guide arrived the next day. When I said that a German-speaking guide had been agreed and I wrote a message again the day before, they tried to organize a German-speaking guide at short notice. However, we waited in the car for 45 minutes. Then we drove towards the parks and picked up the German-speaking guide on the way. We also waited there for almost another hour. We also had a real jalopy. The driver drove the whole time at around 30-40km/h (in and out of town) and we were overtaken by all the cars, even trucks, which of course meant we lost a lot of time on the long drive to the parks and on the intermediate journeys. Then the car also went out several times and we had to wait about 30-45 minutes twice until it started again. The guides (both the English-speaking and the German-speaking ones) didn't really try to tell us anything about the parks, but talked to each other in Suaeli the whole time, which was quite annoying.
When we asked something, we got an answer, but we would have liked to have been told something from time to time. Even at dinner in the evening, while other guides were talking to their guests, our guides preferred to be on their cell phones.
The cars are equipped with walkie-talkies so that all the guides (including those from other providers) can inform each other if an animal is spotted. Our guide's walkie-talkie was broken, so we didn't hear anything. Other guides also all had binoculars with them, but our guide's were broken, he said. Then at the end they weren't happy with the tip as it was split between two people (it's not our fault that we ended up with two guides), then she wanted more, then we got some more (although we weren't happy) and then they didn't even thank us for the tip.
The safari and the parks (Ngorongoro, Serengeti, Lake Manyara and Tarangire) are definitely worth seeing and an experience and we also saw a lot (but so did others from other tour operator too). However, there are a lot of providers, which is why I would recommend another provider (Leo, Tanzanica Specialist, etc.).

Needs quite a lot of improvement.
I did the 4-Day Unforgettable Tanzania Safari with 3 friends in August 2023. Communication with the operator was sporadic at times and it was hard to get answers to the questions I asked. However, we were collected on time from our hotel in Moshi and out guide Christian was very good. The vehicle however left a lot to be desired. It was an older 4-seater land cruiser which was very cramped for 4 adults and had small windows which made spotting animals and taking photos difficult as not all 4 of us could stand at once and get a clear line of sight. There were some long driving times particularly from Mkomazi NP to Tarangire NP which left us with only a couple of hours in Tarangire. As a result, we ended up doing a slow drive around a small circuit which gave us limited game viewing opportunities (we did see a leopard in a tree, but it was a long way away - not a fault of Chirstian). We did have a good interaction with a black rhino in Mkomazi and same good viewing in the Ngorongoro Crater.

It was great to read your review of your Tanzania safari Tour with Migration Venture Africa team proper and well arranged trip . Our very big apologies for not meeting your expectations, you ware 4 people and the car that we provided was having 5 seats , but we take your comment very positive when we have such a number of people in one vehicle
When you have a knowledgeable guide who has wonderful skills, this can really enhance your Tanzania experience.
Thank you for your kind comments and hope you will be our ambassador and one day you will return to again Tanzania and travel with Migration Venture Africa
Asante sanaa

Good safari, average company.
We chose migration venture based on a limited budget, as it was one of the more reasonably priced company’s. We had a great time on Safari and made lasting memories. We will say our experience with the company was not as good as we experienced with other company’s on our trip to Tanzania. Communication when arranging the safari was difficult and slow. Replies often did not answer the questions asked, and the details were missing! They tried to charge for airport collection, when it turned out the guides were coming from Moshi all along, this was disappointing. They also tried to charge a 5% surcharge to the over all bill until challenged. We were told a very high tipping rate for the guide also. They did not ask about dietary requirements before the trip and then had to sort on the morning. If these details could be improved the experience would be better! Thanks to our guide Octavian we still had an amazing Safari seeing lots of animals in the parks! (It may be worth considering generally especially for shorter trips like ours that Lake Manyara is sadly experiencing flooding and therefore the wildlife is effected in the area).

a very professional team but lacking enthusiasm
The supervisor of the compagny took into account all of our requests but communication could sometimes be difficult. The food was good but the lunches were not very varied. During the game drives, our guide didn't give much explanation or commentary but he willingly answered our questions.
