Great curated list of options, better than ones found self-searching
We used Safari.com because they provided a brilliant list of safari options, including the 'just-right' option that balanced budget and luxury for our needs. When we went to book, they ensured the price matched direct and supported with transfers and internal flights making this part of the holiday seamless and stress-free. Our contact, Sara was lovely, helpful, and responsive.

Leigh-Ann organised a fantastic itinerary for my wife and I, that included transfers to airports and safari lodge and back, as well as a hotel stay prior to flying back home. Excellent communication both by email and Whatsapp kept me informed. Due to the flooding in the Kruger we were unable to go to the originally planned lodge. However, Leigh-Ann had organised an alternative arrangement and kept in contavt with me about the changed arrangements. I can't thank her enough for all her work, at I am sure, short notice to reorganise everything. The whole experience from being picked up at the cruise terminal, transfers to the airports, the flights out and back, as well as the overnight stay in a hotel prior to flying home was seamless and stress-free. The lodge location chosen was like that out of a film. Absolutely fantastic, as was our accommodation, the staff and their service and the food. We had a wonderful safari guide who was very knowledgeable of the location, as well as the flora and fauna and contributed to help make it a memorable trip. Given the quality of the lodge and its accommodation, the food and drink, as well as all the transfers and post-safari hotel stay, the overall cost was very reasonable and represents good value for money.
Based on my recent experince of using Safar.Com, I would thoroughly recommend them to family and friends to plan their safari in South Africa.

Responsive and Helpful
Our safari experience was quite wondrous. The Shamwari Reserve is a marvelous place. Other than some relatively minor issues regarding transportation, our experience was quite satisfying. We would happily and certainly use and/or recommend Safari.com again.

Professional responsive and efficient
It was my first Safari experience and the company and our contact were professional and efficient throughout. Having looked at other options it seemed good value for money given the items included such as the internal flights and esims.
The actual safari was amazing. The guides were brilliant and clearly experienced in their work. We had 2 trips a day and saw all the big 5 at least once during our time. We had some unpleasant weather in 2 of the days but keeps were equipped with all the necessary gear.
Unfortunately we did not get to do the bush walks due to the bad weather. I'm pleased to say that our timing did not mean we were stranded, as days after we were there the whole area flooded!
Kapama River Lodge was well run and beautiful and had great facilities. The food and drinks offered were excellent my only negative was that it would have been nice to have some lighter options for lunch, maybe buffet, deli sandwiches instead of a full lunch menu.
I would definitely recommend the company to friends.

Top Quality Tour Operator - Top Quality Advice
Safari.com were recommended by a good friend who has used them several times - I was a little sceptical, having booked most trips personally, but I needn’t have worried.
Zené Devine was my contact throughout and she was excellent. Very professional, great communication, great patience! And very clear information on pricing and all details and options available.
The safari was the stand out for us and it was reassuring to know that Zené had actually visited our selected lodge - from the minute we arrived at Kapama River Lodge, we were so welcome and everyone seemed to care that we had a great time, which we did.
We received a room upgrade on our arrival at Shandrani, in Mauritius and I don’t doubt that this was as a result of using Safari.com too.
Zené also reached out while we were there, to see how we were doing and it was very reassuring to know there was support if needed.
Going back to my scepticism, I was also surprised and delighted to note that the price of the holiday was no more expensive than had I selected venues and flights myself.
We have already recommended Zené and Safari.com to a friend and there is only one person we will contact when we next decide to head to South Africa.

Fabulous
Truly the best holiday I’ve had. Two nights at Mont Rochelle, this place has breath taking views, great friendly service and a free shuttle in to the village. Our suite was amazing too. 100% recommend. Then on to two nights at Sanbona wildlife reserve. All I can say is wow!! Fabulous tented accomodation, food, atmosphere, game drives were unreal. Great experience. Lastly Queen Victoria hotel on the water front. Lovely hotel in the heart of everything. This was a wonderful trip, ran so smoothly. Safari.com took care of everything and were always on hand. Highly recommend.

Very, Very Pleased
I contacted Safari.com by email in April. I had a response from Cayla Urtel within 12 hours and a trip planned within a week.
I told her my dates and price range and she sent me a few options. After I picked the lodge I wished to book ( Pondoro Game Lodge.. loved it) she booked my flights round trip flight to the area from Cape Town. She answered all questions I had regarding transportation to game lodge etc..
In November I reached out regarding trip insurance and she answered my email very promptly.
I couldn’t of been happier with my entire experience start to finish and wouldn’t hesitate to recommend her and Safari.com

Well knowledged and always responsive
I think the service provided was well organized but by researching the cost of the actual itinerary it was definitely over priced and doing on own would cost about 3k less but only I'm to blame cause I didn't do my research due to time constraints Basically paying for transportation which once you are there is cheap and hotels which even in supposedly high season were plenty. If this package came with 3-4 excursions prepayed then it would be easier to justify the cost. Safari.com did an excellent job getting it organized quick and professionally and were very receptive to any questions

Terrible experience
Keep away from booking with safari.com. Absolutely no flexibility in terms of making changes. Lost$3500 with them and communication is so delayed. I had to make schedule changes due to a medical situation (3 months ahead of scheduled dates) and was even ok to get credit for a future trip - they were absolutely not flexible. I would absolutely not recommend them - you are better off with other agencies!!

We are truly sorry for the family medical situation that caused you to cancel. We understand this was a difficult time.
Regarding your review, we feel it is important to clarify the context. You requested to cancel your booking within 60 days of travel. At this stage, lodges and operators have already been paid and strict penalties apply.
Our team advocated on your behalf to secure a postponement or credit option, but because rooms had been held for months, third-party fees were unavoidable. You advised us that you would only accept a solution that resulted in zero financial loss (100% refund or 100% credit). While we wish we could have offered that, we cannot override the costs incurred by the lodges on such short notice.
We worked hard to recover the majority of your funds, and the timeline for the refund was dictated solely by the international suppliers returning those funds to us.
