Couldn’t recommend more!
Couldn’t recommend more!
The whole process has been smooth and easy. The booking was very well explained and the person that took care of our booking, Tabitha would take maximum 1h to reply back to my queries.
Our guide Kevin was amazing , very helpful and knowledgeable!! We managed to see the big 5!
Our hotels were amazing, we picked the option 4, that was more expensive, but worth every penny!!! Specially the Lake Nakuru Lodge and Lake Naivasha Sopa!

Amazing Safari experience
We had an amazing experience on the 4 Night/5 Day Safari trip. Our guide, Kevin, was absolutely fantastic throughout the entire trip. It was very clear he had a passion for showing people all the amazing beauties of Kenya. During game drives he was communicating extensively with other guides and rangers to get us access to the best animal sightings. He also seemed to have a strong intuition for the movements and behaviors of the animals (especially the big cats), which let him position the safari vehicle in the best spots. There were multiple times when we parked a bit away from the other vehicles only to have the cats come right up to our car.
Axis safaris provided a great itinerary and were really glad we did the full 5 days as biking through hells gate was also a major highlight. If I had to change anything I would make the cost options available per night so you could splurge on a night at Lake Naivasha while also staying in more budget friendly accommodations elsewhere. Some of the days were long drives without many activities, partnering with hotels to provide more optional evening activities could also go a long way while also making sure the guides have plenty of rest. Overall this was truly an unforgettable trip with an amazing group of people and a fabulous guide additionally seeing the big 5 and all the big cats was a big plus. I would highly recommend joining an Axis tour to anyone coming to Kenya.
An unforgettable experience, made even more perfect by friendly and knowledgable guide Steve
We booked the “slightly upgraded” budget Kenya safari option which included Masai Mara, Lake Nakuru & Amboseli.
Our guide Steve, took us on the Masai Mara and Lake Nakuru parts of the tour and was absolutely excellent. He went above and beyond to ensure we had the best time possible. From the get go our entire group was made very comfortable, and his friendly and extremely knowledgable nature was perfect for the trip. He did everything within his power to make sure we experienced the parks to their fullest and truly made the experience!
Communications throughout booking were clear, Axis Africa gave us a booking voucher after we completed the booking which detailed the itinerary - which was kept completely the same during the trip. We were fully briefed when arriving to their offices in Nairobi on the first day of the trip and then our guide Steve made sure we all knew the plan after each drive, and ensured we made the most out of every moment of each day! Everything was meticulously organised.
The “budget” accommodation was much better than I had hoped for and was comfortable, clean and perfect for our purposes of rest before a big day of driving.
In terms of value for money, I believe it’s great considering the experience and everything included. We were kept very well fed throughout - with all meals and bottled water provided each day.
Overall I would highly reccomend a tour with Axis Africa, especially with guide Steve. Thank you for an incredible experience!

Highly recommend Axis Africa
We had an absolutely wonderful experience with Axis Africa Safaris while planning a special family trip to Kenya for my husband's 40th birthday.
From the very beginning, Cynthia and her team were extremely helpful, responsive, and accommodating. She patiently answered all our questions and gave valuable suggestions to make the trip comfortable, especially since we were traveling with our 6-year-old daughter. Our itinerary included Masai Mara, Lake Naivasha, and Amboseli, and everything was planned seamlessly.
The entire trip was smooth and well organized. When we faced a small issue at our hotel in Nairobi, Cynthia personally stepped in and resolved it immediately, which we truly appreciated.
Our safari guide, Peter Kapino, was exceptional. He was always punctual, friendly, and made sure our family was comfortable throughout the journey. His knowledge, tracking skills, and ability to spot wildlife were incredible. Thanks to him, we completed the Big Five and enjoyed some unforgettable sightings.
A special thank you to the Axis Africa team for arranging a lovely birthday celebration for my husband at the lodge, which made the trip even more memorable.
This was our first safari with Axis Africa, but certainly not the last. We highly recommend them to anyone planning a safari in Kenya. Just tell them what you want, and they'll take care of the rest!

An unforgettable safari experience with incredible wildlife sightings, delicious Kenyan food, comfor
The drive from Nairobi was long (around six hours), but we stopped regularly for restroom breaks, making the journey much more comfortable than I expected. Along the way, our guide Steve shared interesting insights about Kenyan culture and the Maasai people. One fact that stayed with me was that wealth is traditionally measured by the number of cattle and sheep a person owns rather than by money.
One of the biggest reasons this tour was so enjoyable was our guide, Steve. He was knowledgeable, friendly, and incredibly skilled at spotting wildlife. He also made sure everyone had a good experience, even recommending the best seats in the vehicle for viewing animals.
We were lucky enough to see an impressive variety of wildlife. On our very first game drive, we spotted gazelles, wildebeests, giraffes, buffaloes, and even lions. One of the most memorable moments was when Steve excitedly told us he had found something special and drove through rough, muddy terrain to get us there. Thanks to his efforts, we were able to see a magnificent male lion up close on our first day.
The second day brought even more unforgettable encounters, including cheetahs and large herds of elephants. I learned that the black lines under a cheetah’s eyes help reduce glare, much like the eye black used by baseball players. We also learned about elephant social structures, where experienced older females lead the herd. The safari was not only exciting but also educational.
The accommodations were comfortable and exceeded my expectations. Hot water was available, and spending evenings surrounded by nature made the experience feel truly unique. The food was another pleasant surprise. I especially enjoyed the local Kenyan dishes, including stewed meats, beans, rice, and ugali. Every meal was flavorful and satisfying.
The long drives and bumpy safari roads can be physically demanding, but the incredible wildlife encounters make every moment worthwhile. Seeing lions, cheetahs, elephants, giraffes, buffaloes, and many other animals in their natural habitat was an unforgettable experience.
Overall, this safari exceeded all of my expectations. Great wildlife, excellent food, comfortable accommodations, and an outstanding guide made this one of the best travel experiences I have ever had. I would highly recommend this tour to anyone visiting Kenya.
