Our one-week safari with Axis Africa Safaris exceeded every expectation we had. Having already been on several safaris before, we know what makes a truly exceptional safari experience. Because of that, we can confidently say that Peter Kapino is, without a doubt, the best safari driver and guide we have ever had.
From the very first day until the last, Peter was with us every step of the way, making sure we had the best possible experience. He always listened to our wishes, adapted the game drives to our interests, and went above and beyond to ensure every day was special. We never felt like just another group of tourists—he genuinely cared about giving us the safari of a lifetime.
During our journey through the Masai Mara, Lake Naivasha, and Amboseli National Park, Peter’s knowledge, experience, and incredible instincts made all the difference. Thanks to him, we were lucky enough to see not only the Big Five, but also cheetahs, rhinos, and many other rare and fascinating animals. Every single game drive was filled with unforgettable wildlife encounters because Peter always seemed to know exactly where to go and when to be there.
One of the things that impressed us the most was how well connected Peter is with other guides. He constantly exchanged information about wildlife sightings, which gave us a huge advantage throughout the safari. A very good tour operator for Kenya safaris.
We had an incredibly wonderful safari with Axis Safaris and would book them again in a heartbeat! Our route took us through the Masai Mara, Lake Nakuru, Lake Naivasha, and Amboseli National Park – each and every park was simply breathtaking, and we experienced so many unforgettable moments.
The biggest highlight, however, was definitely our guide, Peter Kapino. He was absolutely amazing! Thanks to him, we saw so many incredible animals. He always knew exactly where we needed to go and went to great lengths to ensure we got the best spot and the best view of the animals. This allowed us to really observe the animals and take incredibly beautiful photos.
Peter was also super funny, incredibly warm, and always in a great mood. You could immediately tell how much experience he had and how passionate he was about his job. No matter how long we were out, he was always motivated and gave his all to ensure we had the best safari ever.

Responsive and reliable
Axis worked with us to create a custom family trip that included walking and biking safaris, half- and fullday game drives, and a visit to a Masai village. Our guide Richard Nkoile was incredibly apt at finding and predicting where all the animal action was going to be, providing incredible photo opportunities, and keeping us away from the crowds. Axis provided a comfortable landcruiser with pop up roof. Richard was a very skilled driver, and attentive and knowledgeable guide. We saw the big 5, thousands of wildebeest and zebra, many species of antelope and birds, and learned a lot about the land and its culture.

When it came time for the safari itself, Khalifa was the best guide we could have asked for. He took the time to understand what we were most excited to see and genuinely went above and beyond to make our week unforgettable. Along the way, he taught us so much, not just about the wildlife, but about Kenyan culture, Swahili, and his own life and experiences.
He always knew the best places to be and the best times to be there. Time and time again, our Land Cruiser ended up in the perfect position for incredible wildlife encounters, from zebras giving birth and elephants crossing the road to lions feasting at dawn and thousands of wildebeests during the Great Migration.
The mid-range luxury accommodations met our expectations, and the included meals were great throughout the trip.
I can’t recommend Axis enough. If you can, ask for Khalifa. You won’t regret it!
