Beyond our expectations
We chose the "Taste of Kenya" trip, which was a bit of an expensive adventure, but worth every penny!
What we received was a safe car, amazing accommodations and an excellent guide.
We were aware of and informed about the places of our accommodation, but in real life, those places turned out to be spectacular! The level of hospitality and comfort in both places was spectacular.
Our guide Nesta deserves all the compliments. We felt safe, taken care of and well informed. He was an excellent driver and guide, very dedicated to his country and its wonderful environment.
What we appreciated was the pace that was tailored to us, his focus on „hunting” the animals on a game drive and his professionalism.
He gave us a lot of information and answered all of our questions, not only about safari and animals, but about Kenya as well. We were also given plenty of space to enjoy our time outside the game drives in private.
On behalf of the office, we had been in touch with Filipa, a very patient and well-mannered treasure who answered a lot of our questions months before the safari happened.
We will recommend Spirit of Kenya to everyone!
One tip: even though it is an extra cost, we highly recommend a private safari in a jeep. The experience seems to be so much more comfortable.

Highly recommend- effortless and amazing.
Highly highly recommend this tour company! Every detail was effortless and seamless. They were always one step ahead. We did Masai Mara and lake nakaru 5 days safari with Raphael as our guide. He was extremely knowledgeable about the wildlife and the area. He made us feel very safe and taken care of! We will use them again.

Thomas Made Our Kenya Safari Unforgettable!
We recently returned from a wonderful safari in Kenya with Spirit of Kenya. Our visit was late September. Although we experienced a few disappointments with our accommodations, our guide, Thomas, made the trip truly exceptional!
Thomas was without question the highlight of our safari. His wildlife knowledge, understanding of animal behavior, and ability to find incredible sightings were outstanding. What impressed us just as much was his genuine connection to the park community and surrounding areas. His respect for the animals and commitment to responsible guiding were especially admirable.
Thomas consistently went above and beyond to accommodate our requests. He was thoughtful, flexible, and genuinely invested in making our experience special.
Filipa at Spirit of Kenya was helpful in planning our itinerary, but we were disappointed that two of our accommodations were undergoing construction without advance notice.
At Sarova Lion Hill Game Lodge, construction barriers obstructed much of the beautiful property, and temporary dining arrangements were kind of ridiculous. At Zebra River Camp, construction noise and dated rooms were disappointing considering the price we paid. However, the entire staff was excellent, and the food was very good. Kandili Camp was fantastic, with wonderful staff, lovely accommodations, and excellent value. It was the true tent camp style we were hoping for and we had an excellent night drive there.
I’d encourage anyone booking a safari to ask about the current condition of their lodges and whether any construction is planned during their stay.
Despite these accommodation disappointments, Thomas made our safari unforgettable. His kindness, knowledge, professionalism, and genuine respect for Kenya’s people and wildlife made all the difference. He even helped us sort out a flight issue that we had that had nothing to do with the Spirit of Kenya booking. He fixed what no one else could when he didn't have to.
If you’re booking with Spirit of Kenya, I highly recommend requesting Thomas as your guide! We would gladly travel with him again.

This is an amazing company who go the extra mile
We had the most amazing experience with Spirit of Kenya. Their attention to detail is incredible and Laura was able to answer all our questions in preparation. They were so flexible and designed a unique tour based around the city where we were based for a few days. We were so fortunate to have an incredible guide, Erastus and spending 5 days with him in both Ol Pejata and Samburu was an amazing time. His knowledge and capacity to be in the right place at the right time meant we saw so many animals in so many different contexts.
The food and accommodation options were incredible and being right in the heart of the reserves meant we could enjoy dinner and a glass of wine, whilst watching elephants and other herds coming down to the river.
This was a once in a life time opportunity and I would thoroughly recommend Kenya and Spirit of Kenya to oversee every detail!

An unforgettable experience!
Our 7-day experience with Spirit of Kenya was simply perfect. From the very first moment, communication with Chico was wonderful: he responded super quickly to all our questions and showed a great ability to understand exactly what we wanted, designing a personalized itinerary that included Samburu, Lake Nakuru, and the Masai Mara.
But without a doubt, what made this trip unforgettable was our guide and driver, Raphael Torome. We spent every day of the safari with him, and his attitude was top-notch. He went out of his way at every moment to get the best animal sightings and ensure we were always comfortable in the vehicle.
In addition to being a great professional with incredible knowledge, Torome is a super friendly, talkative, and fun person. In the end, you feel like you aren't just traveling with any ordinary tour guide, but with a friend who is accompanying you to discover his homeland.
I would recommend Spirit of Kenya and Torome with my eyes closed to anyone thinking of traveling to Kenya. Thank you for making our honeymoon a memory for a lifetime!

Outstanding Safari Experience with Spirit of Kenya
My safari with Spirit of Kenya exceeded all expectations and was truly one of the most memorable travel experiences I have ever had.
From the moment I arrived in Kenya, everything was perfectly organized. Airport transfers, accommodation, and the entire itinerary were handled professionally and seamlessly. A special thank you to Vanessa, who was always responsive, helpful, and attentive throughout the planning process, making everything completely stress-free.
The highlight of the trip was undoubtedly my guide, Joseph Peter. His knowledge of wildlife, nature, and local culture was exceptional, and his passion for his work was evident every day. He always went above and beyond to make sure I had the best possible experience.
The safari lasted four days, which was the perfect amount of time to explore Kenya's incredible wildlife and landscapes. The park admission fees were reasonable and represented excellent value considering the quality of the experience. The atmosphere throughout the journey was simply amazing, with breathtaking scenery and unforgettable wildlife encounters.
Some areas were a little crowded at times, but Joseph knew exactly how to avoid the busiest spots and find quieter locations where we could enjoy the animals without the crowds. His experience and local knowledge made a huge difference.

Our guide Ken was outstanding—respectful, patient, and extremely knowledgeable. He drove us safely, respected nature, and thanks to his sharp eyes, we managed to spot 4 of the Big Five!
Traveling in a private 4x4 Land Cruiser made a world of difference for comfort. The Maasai Mara was absolutely mind-blowing, and I strongly advise booking as much time there as possible. Staying at Tulia Amboseli Camp in the Mountainview Superb Tent was also a magical experience with incredible views.
We highly recommend Spirit of Kenya to anyone looking for a seamless, top-quality safari!

perfect safari experience
The support and organisation were fantastic. All our questions were always answered, Laura was always there to help us, and the trip went exactly as we’d imagined.
The choice of hotels was also good; the food was excellent at all the accommodation, and the staff were very friendly.
What really stood out, however, was the Zebra Plain, which was truly outstanding accommodation where no detail was overlooked. And the people there were even more welcoming than at the other camps.
Finally, a few words about Bonnie, our guide. He made our trip something truly special. He was always friendly, courteous and always had a smile on his face. His warm and caring nature made the Spirit of Kenya experience perfect.
He loves what he does; he loves working for Spirit of Kenya, and as a guest, you notice that from the very first moment. If only there were more guides like Bonnie: the national parks would be an even better place, because he always treated nature with respect. And he always shared his seemingly endless knowledge with us. Simply perfect.

Perfect 9 day Safari from Masai Mara to Thabo West
First and foremost, I would like to thank Filipa for the excellent organization of the entire safari. Our safari was postponed by a year due to family circumstances; after we provided the necessary medical documentation, they rescheduled it to this year without any issues.
After arriving at Nairobi Airport, we were promptly picked up by a taxi arranged through Spirit of Kenya. Our guide for the nine-day safari picked us up right on time at our hotel at the start of the trip. Our guide, Kamau, drove us safely from park to park. He took the time to look for wildlife and provided us with information and the opportunity to take close-up photos whenever possible.
We were lucky enough to spot the Big Five. For us, the Masai Mara ranks number one due to its diversity. Lake Nakuru was a wonderful place to complete our Big Five sightings by spotting the rhinoceros. During our visit, we hiked through Hell's Gate—an experience well worth it, especially for fans of *The Lion King*. In Amboseli, we were fortunate enough to spot a cheetah on the hunt, alongside countless elephants and views of Mount Kilimanjaro.
All the accommodations were excellent—the food, the comfort, and the staff. Everything was perfectly organized down to the last detail. We would certainly choose Spirit of Kenya again.
