Everything was well planned!
We had an amazing time in Kenya with Spirit of Kenya tour. Our expectations were far exceeded.
Our favorite stay was in the Masai Mara. The proximity to nature and the beautiful green park truly astonished us. Lake Nakuru and Naivasha were also stunning, with their incredible animal diversity, breathtaking landscapes, and luxurious hotels. The food was always so tasty. The drive to Amboseli was quite long, but seeing so many elephants gathered together in the swamps along with my personal highlight, -a python- made it absolutely worth it.
Overall, we could not be more thankful for Charles -our guide-, who was our feet, ears, and eyes throughout the entire week. He is a very knowledgeable guide with a kind heart!
Everything went perfectly, and we truly appreciate the tour provider being so responsive over the past few months. I highly recommend Spirit of Kenya as your tour provider in your next trip in Kenya!

Amazing
Did a 3D2N private tour to Maasai Mara. From the get go, i loved that it was completely customisable based on your schedule, to your desired comfort level for accommodation and even the vehicle! what i loved about them was the price transparency- you knew exactly what you were paying for. on the day of my tour, i was told the road to my accommodation was blocked, and we’d had to shift to an alternative one. Both the company and my guide handled it with such expediency and professionalism. I ended up staying somewhere just as comfortable, and was even refunded the price difference. The game drives were needless to say, amazing. My guide took the time to explain the history / culture of Masai Mara in great detail, and the species that we encountered, big or small. It was amazing; worth every dollar i paid. I’ll be back again ❤️

An Expected Safari Journey with Surprises
Spending five whole days immersed in the wild, four in Masai Mara and one in Lake Nakuru, left us buzzing with excitement. The tour exceeded our every expectation. Despite a minor hiccup with a workers' strike at Nairobi Airport, the overall trip was impeccably organized.
Nothing could’ve prepared us for how close we’d get to the animals. Being a couple of meters away from lions and elephants felt surreal, like the wildlife documentary suddenly let us step inside. Luck was definitely on our side; we managed to see all the Big Five, each sighting more exciting than the last. On top of that, we encountered plenty of creatures we hadn’t even dared to hope for—cheetahs lounging in the tall grass, flamingos painting Nakuru pink, small mammals darting around as if they were performing for us. Every drive brought some unexpected surprise.
Our accommodations were on point. Zinwa Bush in Nakuru was quiet, clean, calm in the best way, and the food hit the spot after long game drives. Slope Mara delivered nicely too—comfortable, welcoming.
I'd like to thank Gerardo, the sales manager, meticulously planned every aspect of the trip. This had been in the works for a good three months, and the itinerary was solid gold. Also Gideon, our guide and driver. His experience was obvious from the start: spotting animals at impossible distances, picking clever routes that brought us close without disturbing anything, handling the vehicle with calm confidence.

Our safari with Spirit of Kenya was truly unforgettable from beginning to end.
Filipa organized everything beautifully, creating a trip that felt perfectly tailored to us. Every transfer was handled professionally and always punctual, which made the entire journey smooth and completely stress-free.
In the Masai Mara and Lake Nakuru, Sego was an outstanding guide and driver. His knowledge, patience, and passion for wildlife made every game drive so exciting! Thanks to him, we saw an incredible variety of animals and experienced the landscapes in a way we will never forget.

Every aspect of our engagement with Spirit of Kenya was a positive experience. Communications were clear and questions promptly answered. This a well organized company that we felt confident in committing our vacation to. The professionalism was not at the expense of a welcoming and friendly staff. Our guide was a pleasure to be with. He worked hard to make sure that we had an excellent experience. He was friendly, fun and informative. We stayed with the suggested itinerary and it was a good choice that whetted my appetite for further exploration of Kenya with this company. Excellent experience. Great planning
We started our planning to visit Kenya in November and had contacted few tour operators . Spirit of Kenya helped us with the best itinerary and value for money for the trip we chose . Right from the booking experience Thanks to Laura she had planned every detail of our trip and made sure the trip was hassle free. We were also given a great tour guide Thomas by Spirit of Kenya who had in-depth knowledge of the wildlife and life style of Kenyan people . He was great at spotting wildlife , we were often surprised how he was able to spot a camoflaged animal .
We stayed in Kenya for 6 days visiting Naivasha , Nakuru and Masai Mara truly awesome experience .

Safari with Spirit of Kenya was the adventure of a lifetime and the fulfillment of our dreams. Africa has something truly extraordinary about it and will remain in our hearts forever—we will definitely return one day. We are very grateful for the meticulous planning of our trip, which was exciting, colorful, and full of unforgettable experiences.
Special thanks go to our guide, as the success of this journey was largely thanks to him. He showed us far more than we expected—we saw the Big Five and many other animals, always had the best views, were close to the wildlife, and were able to take beautiful photos. We had an absolute joy of an experience with Spirit of Kenya. Our planning process was flawless and organized with Gerardo. He answered every single question (there were a lot) and created the perfect itinerary. Our flight had to be moved due to weather changes and they were able to accommodate us at last minute and we still got to do everything we wanted. When we got to Kenya, our airport transfer was waiting for us and drove us to our hotel booked through Spirit of Kenya. The hotel selection was nice, clean and everything we expected. We did the city tour in Nairobi and again - it was organized very well and super fun! We learned so much and saw so many animals.
Our three day safari in Maasai Mara was unforgettable. Our guide (Raphael) and his student (Steve) were AMAZING. They made every moment great and magical. Everything was super organized and punctual. They explained everything to us throughout the trip. The long drive there and back went by in a flash because of all the things they were sharing/pointing out. We learned about plants, history, culture, landscape, animals - the list doesn't end.
Our camp which was beautiful with 10/10 hospitality and food. The game drives were insane - our guides showed us SO MANY ANIMALS. We saw a leopard (very rare!), tons of lions including cubs, elephants, wildebeest, cheetahs, hippos, zebras, giraffes and more! We got so close and were able to take amazing photos. They were always looking out for us and ways to give us the best experience that we could have. We are so grateful for everything that they did.
As an anxious person - I felt very safe and well taken care of throughout the entire trip. If you are nervous about booking or spending money, I would say that it's 10000% worth it and to DO IT.
This review doesn't capture how magical and unreal this trip was for us and we couldn't have had that without Raphael, Steve and Spirit of Kenya!

Avoid it at any time !
I am sharing my experience transparently, as I believe it's important for others considering this tour operator.
For a 7-day safari, I paid over $9000 USD.
Based on my experience, I felt the value received was significantly below what I anticipated, making it a deeply disappointing trip.
As an experienced traveler who has visited over 60 countries, this particular journey stands out as my most challenging and unsatisfactory travel experience to date. My personal belief, given what occurred, is that I was misled regarding the quality of the service.
Based on my personal experience, I would strongly caution others to thoroughly research and consider alternatives before booking.

Excellent experience. Fantastic driver and all around a great trip and tour provider.
We did a 7 day Spirit of Kenya Private Safari.
Filipa helped us with all our questions throughout the booking process and gave us lots of options and information which meant we got to fully build a custom itinerary.
We mix and matched basic and luxury accommodation to fit within our Budget and we worked with Filipa on extra customisation like dates, airport transfers and vehicle type.
Filipa could not have been more helpful throughout this process!
When we arrived in Nairobi we had a private transfer to the hotel and the next day we met our Driver Samuel. Samuel was fantastic. He was funny and kind and full of knowledge having been a driver for more than 30 years. He got us some of the bet view points through out the trip, customized our timings day to day so we got the best experience possible.
