Getting safari adjusted to our needs was very efficient, communication was great, people friendly!
4/5

From first moment, communication with Alice, our tour consultant, was great. She quickly responded to all our questions, modified itinerary to include our end point in Diani, after visiting Amboseli and Tsavo West conservancy.
Our guide was very sweet and quiet young man Julius, who tried to show us as much as possible. Most impressive were families of lions and views of Kilimanjaro in Amboseli NP, where we also saw elephants, hippos, zebras, hyenas, buffaloes, flamingos... Accommodation in Oltukai Lodge was great, food options for my daughter and me, who are celiacs, were amazing.
Herds of animals coming to drink water at Salt Lick Lodge waterhole was something special to experience. Elephants, wilder beasts, zebras….kept coming to drink in organized long lines. It is impressive how all animals work together and give each order chance to drink, since that is the only place where water is available.

Real adventures!
5/5

We chose Morning Star Tours for safari, because they offered most suitable custom safari for me, my husband and our 4 year old son, moreover, their prices were 30% lower for the same intinerary compared to the other big tour operators.
We were really happy about our guide and driver Alex. We thought he was a newbie (looking very young ;) ), but we found out that he was an experienced guide working in the business for 7 years!
Alex is a really good driver (we felt very safe) and he is an adventure seeker, due to his effort and persistence, we managed to encounter a male lion in one meter distance protecting his resting lioness. What a memory!! And I am not talking about his effort during all the trip to meet all big 5!
He was also very patient with our toddler, who used to get bored during long trips.
Thanks for great experience!
Much recommended!

5/5

My father and I travelled to Kenya and had a wonderful experience with Alex as our driver / guide. The accommodations were excellent, the food suburb, and we always felt safe with Alex at the wheel. He was also so incredibly knowledgeable of the area and where to find the anomaly, but also very respectful not to disturb the habitat. His expertise and passion for the parks and animals shone through.

Excellent communication with reliable and great value for service
5/5

Dennis has made our trip into pure nature loving reality. He fully understood the exact character of what we were wishing to realize and tailored it to an unforgettable journey - between herds of wild game and lodges or tents awaiting us at the sunset of each day.
We were extremely lucky to have Henry -as our tour guide who was very humble with great knowledge! He was very sharp and skillful spotting of any Game in the vast territory of the parks. With great explanations about animals, weather influence, and history of local tribes, their culture, customs it made our trip educational and memorable.
Henry is very experienced in his profession- loves his country and it’s nature and was very enthusiastic to share it with us all through the wonderful days we traveled together.
We would highly recommend both - Dennis and Henry for your tour of Masai mara.

Alex was the BEST tour guide; very informative, knowledgeable, and accommodating!
5/5

Morning Star Tours were absolutely amazing to work with, from beginning to end. They were swift in response to email with all questions and concerns we had before booking. Alex, our tour guide picked us up from our hotel, on time, with a smile on his face, and cool waters to drink at anytime. We stopped half way to Amboseli for a 30 minute bathroom break and local shopping. We also stopped at a Maasi village to meet the people and learn more about their lifestyle. Before we even arrived in the park, we started seeing giraffe, and Alex was most accommodating to us excited Americans, slowing down so we could see them better. Once inside the park, we learned Alex has the best eye for spotting wildlife and was extremely knowledgeable about the different animals, where they hang out, and what times of day they are where. The hotel, Ol Tukai Lodge was AMAZING with views of Mt Kilimanjaro and the animals (elephants, gazelle, zebra, baboon) from almost every spot on the property. The food was also AMAZING, with so much to chose from, salads, rices, meats, fresh fruit, etc. You will not go hungry! The staff at Ol Tukai were extremely attentive, greeting you with a cool, wet cloth when you arrive and carrying your luggage to and from your hotel room. All in all, not only will we use Morning Star again, we would 100% recommend this tour group and Amboseli to all of our friends and family.

A friendly operator, who provided us with an excellent planned tour and good communication.
5/5

We received a great tour package from Morningstar Safaris. It was well thought through, the hotels were fantastic and the driver Alex was excellent. Via WhatsApp, the communication was fantastic and we would receive a reply within few minutes, at any time of the day.
The luggage, which has not arrived from the airline, was picked up and taken care off by a team member. Great service! Strongly recommend this tour operator.

WORST COMPANY EVER! STAY SAVE AND DON'T BOOK WITH THEM!
It already started badly with no binoculars in the car, so everybody else could watch a leopard hunting close and l just saw some points moving far away, which is definitely not what l have paid for… but it came worse and we couldn't enter in parcs which we were supposed to and even if l paid for everything l had to pay again at the entrance fee after 1 hour of waiting in the bursting sun because my driver spent all the money... worst was, that he said he would not bring me to the hotel, till MORNINGSTAR pays him more.. so over all a nightmare which they don't take any responsibility. never ever book with MORNING STARS SAFARI! You won't be safe and it can get very dangerous!

As evidenced by the other ratings, outstanding customer service is a core value of our operations. We thought to shed some more light on this review as follows:

The client had booked a 3-Day (2 night) safari staying one night in Amboseli at Kibo Safari Camp and one night in Tsavo East at Man Eaters Lodge. After the booking confirmation and payment, the client requested we drop her off at Severin Safari Camp in Tsavo West, where she had booked an extra night. To access Severin Safari Camp, a non-resident has to pay the park entry fee of $ 52, the resident driver $ 5, and the van entry fee of $10. The extra park fee was not costed for, but out of goodwill, we asked her to pay and agreed to reimburse Anja $52 (sent via mobile money in KES). We did not charge extra for transport as we should have.

In Amboseli NP, the client requested a pair of binoculars (not a standard safari inclusive), but we arranged to have them if a client requests the safari). We set for binoculars for her via another team that was touring Amboseli simultaneously.

A park entry ticket is valid for a maximum of 24 hours - the client arrived in Amboseli from Tsavo at 9.30 am, so they went on a morning game drive, then went to the hotel for lunch and check-in, followed by an afternoon game drive. The following morning- the park wardens made a special allowance and were allowed one last game drive even after the 24-hour window for the ticket.

That said, Joshua, the driver guide for this assignment, did not conduct himself in the best way since he called back at the office irately, which may have scared off Anja. We have since struck Joshua off our list of service providers.

We appreciate Anja's business but are dissatisfied with her representation of the events surrounding her safari. We delivered as per the package, and it would have been unfair for our business to refund her $800 as she had wanted post-safari.

Our company remains committed to excellent customer service and will continuously undertake to improve our customer experience.

We joined a 2 day safari to Amboseli, lodging at Ol Tokai. Even though the drought had left clear marked we saw so many animals, even lions! Morningstars service up front, during and after the safari was perfect. Always informative, quick and precise in their communication. The lodge was very nice and the view from the rooms and dining area to the wet land where animals were bathing/eating was nothing less than spectacular.
