Great! A seamless safari experience, highly recommended!
5/5

I recently traveled solo with Morning Star Safari on a scouting trip through Kenya, with the goal of identifying new locations for the photographic safaris I lead professionally. I came back genuinely impressed on every level.

From the first exchange, Joysharon was sharp and responsive. Nothing fell through the cracks.

My guide and driver James was the real highlight. Exceptionally knowledgeable, patient, and clearly passionate about the wildlife and ecosystems we were moving through. Traveling solo with a specific target list of species, I needed someone who understood what I was after, and James delivered. We ticked off an impressive range of animals across Buffalo Springs and Samburu National Parks, which genuinely surprised me with their diversity and the quality of sightings. A very different feel from the more well-known circuits, and well worth the detour.
We closed the trip with a night at Ol Pejeta Conservancy, a great way to break the drive back and end on a high note with the Black and White rhinos. And when my flight was delayed, James made the most of it with a visit to Nairobi National Park, which turned out to be a worthwhile bonus stop.

As someone who scouts destinations professionally before bringing guests, I leave with full confidence recommending Morning Star Safari. I'll absolutely work with them again.

A Dream Safari in Kenya – Exceptional Service from Start to Finish
5/5

We have just finished an amazing 8-day honeymoon safari with Morning Star, and honestly, we couldn’t have asked for a better experience.

Before the trip even started, Beryl made everything so easy. She was always quick to reply, answered all our questions, adapted the itinerary to our preferences and schedule, and gave us different options to make sure we got exactly the trip we wanted. Planning a safari from abroad can feel overwhelming, but thanks to her, everything was smooth from the beginning.

Our safari included Amboseli, Lake Nakuru, Masai Mara and a day in Nairobi. The whole itinerary was fantastic, and somehow every day managed to be even better than the one before.

The wildlife exceeded all our expectations. By the third day we had already seen the Big Five, which we never imagined would happen so quickly. During the week we saw four leopards, two cheetahs and several lion prides. We actually counted almost 30 lions throughout the trip! Every game drive felt different and exciting, and there was always something new to see.

The biggest reason why this trip was so special was our guide, Masila. He was simply excellent. Time after time, he seemed to know exactly where to go and somehow always got us into the best positions for sightings. His knowledge of wildlife is incredible — not only the big animals, but also birds and all the smaller details that we would have completely missed on our own. You can tell he genuinely loves what he does.

A special highlight was Amboseli, which isn’t included in every safari itinerary and ended up being one of our favourite parks. You could immediately tell how much Masila loves this place — he seemed to know every corner of it, which made the experience even more special. The landscapes, wildlife and views of Kilimanjaro were simply spectacular, and thanks to his expertise we got the most out of every moment there.

He also taught us a lot about Kenya, its culture and traditions, always with a great sense of humour. Throughout the whole trip he was friendly, professional, punctual, patient and always willing to help.

What impressed us most is that everything ran perfectly for eight days straight. With all the transfers, park visits and activities involved, that’s not something we take for granted.

This was our honeymoon, and it gave us memories that will stay with us forever. A huge thank you to Beryl and especially to Masila for making it such a special trip.

We would recommend Morning Star without hesitation to anyone planning a safari in Kenya.

Reliable, Transparent, Trustworthy and Seamless execution
5/5

Our experience with Morning Star has been amazing throughout. We have enquired with a few tour operators for a private safari and decided to go ahead with Morning Star because of their transparency. Their quote had a clear breakup of the costs which made it easy for us to finalise the itinerary.

Doreen was our go-to-person right from the very start. She was very patient in answering our queries and put together a great itinerary for us. She customised it whenever we needed any changes. Her suggestions and inputs were quite good. She is quite organised and was continuously checking on us every night of the trip asking how we enjoyed that day.

Special mention to James who was our tour guide. He was like the guardian during our 5-day trip. He is kind and funny. I needed a SIM card but they were accepting only a local id. James helped us get the sim by registering the sim on his name. He has superb knowledge about the safari and the region in general. We had some nice conversations on various topics. He is quite punctual and was always ready to leave on time. He has a good taste in music and was our in-house DJ during our long drives.

The accommodation options suggested were quite comfortable and the properties we finalised turned out to be quite good. It was nice of Doreen to get us an upgrade of the property at Masai Mara.

Overall it has been a pleasant experience for us with Morning Star and we truly recommend their services.

Our guide was incredible, very knowledgeable about national parks, animals, and very friendly
5/5

My 2 adult sons and I had the most wonderful 8 days in Kenya! The weather was perfect the last week of May. Kenyan people are very kind, humble, friendly. We were at Amboseli National Park, Lake Nakuru, Masai Mara. 1st 2 nights stayed at 5 star hotel in Nairobi to decompress after 22 hour flight from Boston-Amsterdam-Nairobi. We saw over 40 different species of animals, including giraffes, lions, elephants, cougar, rhinoceroses, hippos, hyenas, ostriches, pelicans, impalas, gazzelles, warthogs, zebras, cheetah, wildebeest, storks, monkeys, exotic birds, mongoose. The scenery in the national parks was incredible. We loved all the lodges we stayed at and the food. I highly recommend booking a safari for minimum 7 days with Morningstar!

Stevan Mwololo was experienced, friendly, kind, and the perfect host!
5/5

Our family just returned from the trip of a lifetime in Kenya with MorningStar Safari, and we cannot say enough wonderful things about the experience and our guide Steven. MorningStar exceeded every expectation. Steven was absolutely incredible. From the moment he picked us up, he became such a steady, knowledgeable, and caring presence throughout our journey. He was with us every day as we explored Amboseli, Lake Nakuru, Maasai Mara, and Naivasha, always making sure we were comfortable, informed, and having fun. His knowledge of the wildlife, culture, and roads was amazing, and his patience and kindness made us feel completely at ease. We saw the Big 5 and loved the walking tour at crescent island. We did see other safari vehicles get stuck in muddy areas and Steven navigated perfectly so we were always safe and on our way. We were always on time and he communicated our schedule clearly each day. Overall, Steven was just a joy to be with and he answered all of our questions.

Every destination felt magical, from elephants crossing in front of Mount Kilimanjaro in Amboseli to breathtaking safari drives in Maasai Mara and the peaceful beauty of Naivasha. Steven always knew exactly where to be for the best wildlife sightings, and because of him, we created memories our family will treasure forever. Every accommodation was cozy and the meals were buffet style so there was no waiting and all the food was fresh and delicious.

We definitely recommend Rono!
5/5

We had an incredible safari experience in Kenya, all thanks to our amazing guide Rono. From start to finish, he went above and beyond to make our trip unforgettable.

We visited Amboseli National Park, where we were lucky enough to see stunning views of Mount Kilimanjaro along with elephants close to us. We also explored Lake Naivasha and, of course, the iconic Masai Mara National Reserve.

What really stood out was his dedication—he made extra efforts to help us spot the Big Cats. Thanks to him, we saw various lions (male, female, cubs and while eating a buffalo!) cheetah, and even witnessed a rare and unforgettable moment of leopard guarding its kill. Not to mention many other animals that we were able to see with him.

He was incredibly attentive throughout the trip, helping us set up picnics in a good location and assisting with our luggage, which made everything so smooth and enjoyable. The vehicle was also excellent—very comfortable, well-maintained, and always stocked with chilled water, which was a thoughtful touch. We were able to charge our devices in the car too.

We couldn’t have asked for a better guide. Highly recommend Rono to anyone looking for a truly special safari experience in Kenya.

Excelent midlevel safari operator in Kenya
5/5

We are a 65+ year old couple from the USA visiting Kenya for the first time. We recently returned from a 7 day mid range safari in Kenya operated by Morning Star. This trip was well organized and ran like clockwork. We were picked up by our guide/drive, named John, at the Naminga border crossing from Tanzania, and subsequently visited Amboseli, Aberdare, Lake Nakuru National Parks and Masai Mara National Reserve, and returning to Nairobi. The accommodations and destinations were excellent. We achieved our main goals, to see cheetah, big tusker at Amboseli, and Rhino at Nakuru, but we saw so much more. I note we were out of season to see the Wildebeast migration at the Masai Mara but did see large herds of Buffalo there. The vehicle (big Toyota safari vehicle with popup roof) was very spacious for just the two of us, both for safari drives and transfer between the destinations. Guide was excellent: polite, helpful, with many interesting stories and information on our sightings, and worked well with us to meet our goals and expectations. Also, Dennis, our point of contact with the company with whom we planned the trip, was super efficient and responsive.

A Dream Come True!
5/5

I don't think we could have possibly had a better experience on our Safari. When I started looking into quotes I thought there was no way we could make this happen. There are SO MANY companies and so many itinerary choices. We found Morningstar through s
Safaribookings and I am so happy we did. Everything was easy from start to finish. On the booking end Beryl took care of us, she wasn't pushy (I had one company emailing me every single day asking for a decision and it immediately turned me off) Beryl was patient while I did my research and budgeting. Once we decided to book she set everything up for us, explained all the processes and choices to us and answered all my random questions. Replies were quick and informative.

But once we arrived in Kenya the real magic started. Our guide Rono was absolutely amazing and filled my head with tons of wildlife, history, and culture facts. As far as animals, we saw EVERYTHING! Rono had a special talent for trying to guess where moving animals were ultimately headed and I can't believe we ended up feet from Elephants, lions, cheetah, giraffes, and tons more. I'm a huge bird nerd and he really stepped up his game to find so many species of birds for me to see (something that's a bit outside of most people's Safari wishes) I really couldn't have asked for a better Safari experience!

The lodges that were tailored to our package were all fantastic. Staff everywhere we went were amazing.

I spent my childhood enamored with these animals, my adult life dedicated to wildlife conservation. This trip is something I never thought I would get to experience and I can't believe Morningstar made that happen for us!
