An Unforgettable African Safari — Camptrek Safaris Deserves Five Stars!
My husband, Doug, and I recently returned from an extraordinary private safari through Kenya and Tanzania, organized by Camptrek Safaris. It was truly one of the most memorable travel experiences of our lives.
First and foremost, an enormous thank-you to Lucy Kagure, whose professionalism, exceptional attention to detail, and remarkable organizational skills made this adventure possible. Throughout the planning process, Lucy worked closely with us, revising and fine-tuning our itinerary until it reflected exactly the safari we had envisioned. Her ability to coordinate the many moving parts of a complex journey across two countries was truly impressive.
Our Kenyan guide, Ben, was absolutely exceptional! He had an uncanny ability to spot wildlife that was completely invisible to us. Even after he pointed out exactly where an animal was, Doug and I would still be searching, wondering how on earth he had managed to see it! Ben knew precisely where to position us for the best wildlife encounters and brought us right into the action with the Big Five.
But Ben was so much more than an excellent guide. Over the course of our time together, we developed a genuine fondness for him. He became an important part of our African adventure, and the laughter and friendship we shared made our time in Kenya especially memorable. One particularly wonderful highlight was a memorable sundowner shared by Doug and Ben.
In Tanzania, we were equally fortunate to have Shebani as our guide. His knowledge of the Serengeti’s wildlife and Tanzania’s history was extraordinary. He could tell us something fascinating about virtually every animal we encountered. And the birds! Shebani knew more about Tanzania’s birdlife than we ever imagined we needed to know. His enthusiasm and depth of knowledge were remarkable.
Beyond his expertise, Shebani is an incredibly kind person, and we thoroughly enjoyed our time with him.
One quality that both Ben and Shebani shared was extraordinary patience. Neither would move the vehicle from a wildlife sighting or photographic opportunity until Doug and I were completely ready. We never felt rushed. They understood that this was our adventure and allowed us to savour every moment.
Our journey took us through Amboseli, Lake Nakuru, the Masai Mara, the Serengeti, and the Ngorongoro Crater before we finished our trip in Zanzibar. Each destination offered something different, and the entire experience was unforgettable.
We came to Africa hoping to see extraordinary wildlife. We left with wonderful memories, beautiful photographs, and genuine affection for the people who helped make our adventure so special.
We would also like to give a special thank-you to Elly, who stepped in to help us reach Arusha Airport on time for our flight to Zanzibar. His assistance was greatly appreciated and helped ensure that this part of our journey went smoothly.

Unforgettable experience
My husband and I booked an 11-day private safari with Camptrek for our honeymoon, and it was everything we hoped for and more. Covering three countries in under two weeks sounded ambitious, but Camptrek made it feel effortless from start to finish.
Margaret Nyambura was our point of contact from the very first quote, and she was fantastic. She was responsive, patient with our endless questions, and flexible as we adjusted the itinerary. She also guided us through the trickier logistics, like visas and the border crossing into Tanzania. We always felt we were in good hands.
We started in Rwanda with gorilla trekking, staying at Sambora Kinigi. Sitting just a few meters from a gorilla family was one of the most moving experiences of our lives, and a perfect way to begin our marriage.
Next was the Masai Mara in Kenya, where Ashnil Mara Camp was a beautiful base for game drives through the reserve. From there we crossed into Tanzania for the Serengeti, the Ngorongoro Crater and Tarangire, staying at Serengeti Explorer, Melia Ngorongoro and Acacia Tarangire Luxury Camp. Each place felt completely different, and the wildlife viewing was spectacular.
Every lodge was thoughtfully chosen, with comfortable rooms, great food and incredible locations. They were the perfect mix of adventure and romance for a honeymoon.
Our guide made the trip. They were knowledgeable and warm, with an incredible eye for spotting wildlife, and they never rushed us at a sighting. By the end, they felt like a friend.
Moving between three countries could easily have been stressful, but every transfer ran smoothly and everything was well organized.
If you're planning a honeymoon or any once-in-a-lifetime trip to East Africa, we can't recommend Camptrek highly enough. They took care of every detail so we could simply enjoy each other and the experience. Thank you, Margaret and our wonderful guide!

Great custom made itinerary with a range of accommodations
Since the beginning, Margaret fulfilled all of our trip needs by curating an itinerary that fitted our flights and requests. I spent 12 thoroughly enjoyable days with a small group on a Camptrek Safari tour in September-October 2026. We visited four Kenyan national parks: Nairobi, Tsavo East, Amboseli, and Masai Mara. While any tour operator can take you to see elephants and lions, what truly made this experience exceptional was Camptrek’s meticulous planning, flawless execution, and genuinely dedicated team.
Rose, our booking contact, coordinated our hotels, camps, and transfers with exceptional efficiency, making every part of our in-country travel seamless. Ben, our guide, was an outstanding driver with extensive knowledge of Kenya’s ecosystem. He could identify 47 bird species by sight and sound and had a remarkable ability to spot wildlife from 400 yards away while navigating the unforgiving dirt roads.
It was a joy working with Camptrek. I’ve already recommended them to several friends, and I would not hesitate to book them on other African destinations.

Best safari company and guide
This was our first trip to Kenya. Our friend coordinated the logistics and vetted Camptrek as a good company to use for our visit. We spent 12 days in Kenya and visited several national parks. Each one was unique in its own way. Camptrek did a superb job coordinating our camps, lodges, and driver/ guide. We could not have been happier with Rose our trip coordinator and Benson our driver/guide. They each took care of details that made our trip more memorable and enjoyable. Benson is a superb driver and his knowledge base of the animals is phenomenal. He has a passion for what he does and a skill set that provides the travelers with the best experience imaginable. I would easily recommend this company for anyone making a trip to Kenya and would use them without any doubt if I were to ever return. Great company with great customer service and support.

A reliable travel agency that can handle every detail, making sure clients' trips go smoothly.
Before our trip, I got in touch with three different tour operators on Safaribooking. Camptrek Safaris responded the fastest out of all of them. I must give a special shout‑out to Margaret. Even with the time‑zone difference, she replied to me really promptly, and she even has WeChat. Margaret adjusted our itinerary according to my preferences and budget, and briefed us on all travel arrangements well ahead of time. The operator was extremely reliable for the whole trip. All pick‑ups, transfers and game drives took place exactly as planned.Before the safari started, she even gave my friend and me each a custom‑printed mug with our names on it, which really touched us.
Our guide Robert was very experienced. He gave detailed briefings on wildlife and had wide‑ranging local contacts across the African savanna, which helped us locate the Big Five. He manoeuvred the vehicle into perfect positions for wildlife viewing and photos. Robert was a great driver. The savanna is full of deep potholes and the roads are incredibly bumpy, but he slowed down and tried his best to steer clear of those holes for us. The safari vehicle was comfortable and clean, and plenty of drinking water was provided in the back seats. One minor point: Robert’s photography skills could be better. Total straight‑guy aesthetic, hahaha.
When it comes to value for money, we thought the price was reasonable for a private custom‑built safari. The recommended accommodations fit our budget, and every service stated in the contract was provided in full, with zero hidden charges.
This trip was truly unforgettable. While travelling, we heard bad experiences from other Chinese tourists regarding unreliable tour agencies. Some landed in Nairobi with no one to meet them, and there were even cases of operators disappearing entirely. If you are planning an East Africa safari and want a dependable operator with transparent communication and high‑quality service, Camptrek Safaris is strongly recommended. We would definitely book with them again and recommend them to other travellers.

5 STARS best Kenya private Safari
5 STARS! What an incredible experience! Our safari with Camptrek was truly the trip of a lifetime and exceeded everything we had hoped for.
We were a group of five active seniors traveling together on a private safari, and Camptrek created the perfect experience for us. Having our own vehicle and guide gave us tremendous flexibility and allowed us to enjoy Kenya at our own pace. We were also very impressed by the value. For a private, personalized safari of this quality, Camptrek provided a very cost-effective way to experience the very best of Kenya.
We traveled through six national parks, and every one was different and spectacular in its own way. The variety of scenery and wildlife was amazing. We saw more animals than we ever imagined, had some truly unforgettable encounters, and experienced the beauty of Kenya in a way that pictures simply cannot capture. Every day brought a new adventure and another wonderful surprise.
What made the trip especially memorable was our guide, Ben. We could not have asked for anyone better. Ben was incredibly knowledgeable about the animals, birds, parks, and local culture, and he had a wonderful way of sharing that knowledge with us. He was engaging, fun, patient, and always looking for ways to make our experience even better.
And what a driver! Some of the roads and trails were an adventure all by themselves, and Ben handled everything beautifully. Most importantly, he genuinely cared about us. He watched over us, anticipated what we needed, and made us feel completely comfortable and safe throughout the trip. By the end of our safari, Ben wasn’t just our guide—he had become our friend.
And then there is Rose, who was absolutely wonderful from the very beginning. Planning a safari like this involves so many details, and Rose made the entire process easy and enjoyable. Her communication was outstanding. She listened to what we wanted, answered our questions, offered excellent suggestions, and created an itinerary that was perfect for five active seniors who wanted to see and experience as much as possible. From our first conversation through the completion of the trip, she was responsive, professional, caring, and simply a pleasure to work with.
Camptrek delivered everything they promised—and much more. The organization was excellent, the accommodations and destinations were wonderful, and the entire experience had just the right combination of comfort, variety, excitement, and adventure.
We came to Kenya hoping for a great safari. We left with extraordinary memories, wonderful stories, thousands of photographs, and a new appreciation for this magnificent country and its people.

Toward the end of our trip, we experienced a minor vehicle breakdown during our last two days heading back to the Kenyan border. However, the Camptrek team handled it flawlessly. The issue was quickly resolved, and they smoothly provided us with alternative
transport without disrupting our itinerary.

An Unforgettable East African Journey with Camptrek!
We’re just back from a multi-destination trip through Amboseli, the Masai Mara, Serengeti, and Ngorongoro, topped off with a few days on the beach in Zanzibar. With so many moving parts, flights, and transfers across two countries, we were worried about logistics, but Camptrek made the whole thing feel totally effortless.
