Well structured trip and amazing safari tour guide
Amazing amazing amazing. Honestly I stayed at Jambo which was actually fine in terms of what it offered, the rooms don’t have ac but with it being cooler at night was ok. Internet is ok but not very consistent, food however was 10/10 and the staff members.
My tour guide Joseph was 10/10 did his big one to make sure we saw the big 5 and more than, very professional, excellent and super compassionate. We had some late arrivers and he did his best to wait for them without losing the experience.
Balu as a travel organization, excellent communication skills, really responsive to my manag many questions. Super easy to contact, make payment ask questions just an overall top quality experience.
This is my first safari so I have nothing to compare to, I would say it wasn’t luxury but honestly the quality comes down to the food which was great and the game drivers, we all end up seeing similar things you just need the right guide who is confident in getting you to the right spots at the right time and Joseph is your man.

Benzo was an incredible guide, and Tetu was a very reliable and professional driver. They were both extremely caring and made sure we were comfortable throughout the entire journey. Benzo shared so much interesting information about the wildlife, nature, and Maasai Mara, which made the experience even more special.
And the highlight - we were lucky enough to see all of the Big Five!
I don’t usually write reviews, but this time I genuinely felt that I had to. Our trip to Maasai Mara was truly unforgettable and will stay in my memory for the rest of my life.

Professional and welcoming
We had a 3 day safari with Balu Travel, our tour guides were Jonathan and Jackson, they were both amazing. Jonathan was very knowledgable about the animals we saw, told us a lot about everything we saw, one note worthy mention was that giraffes do not emit any noise and communicate via eye sight. He also engaged in conversations with us and was very passionate about his culture and teaching us about what is means to be a Masaai man, and how they see the world. He was also very curious about our culture and really enjoyed learning about us. Jackson was the driver during the safari, he was always on point with spotting the wild animals and helping us see them, positioning the vehicle so we can have the beat view, and never rushing us so we can enjoy the moment. A noteworthy moment was that for our second day safari Jackson wore traditional Masaai attire which added a very nice atmosphere to our safari, he was as well very enthusiastic about sharing his culture and learning about us. All in all, he safari was amazing, I honestly think we got the best tour guides in the industry, their friendliness and professionalism allowed us to not only see all the animals we wanted, but also learn so much about their culture and customs. Thank you very much, I recommend this company for really good value for money and amazing tour guides.

Incredible experience for our first safari in Afrika
Our first safari experience in Kenya with Balu Travel was absolutely incredible!
A special thank you to our amazing guides and drivers, Jonathan and Jackson, who made the experience so memorable. Jonathan was incredibly insightful about the Maasai people and the wildlife, while Jackson had the sharpest eye for spotting animals in the bush and always knew the best viewing spots. We had so much fun with them and genuinely enjoyed their company throughout the safari.
Sopa Lodge was the perfect place to stay, beautiful, peaceful and in an incredible setting overlooking Mount Kilimanjaro. The accommodation was fantastic, with very friendly staff and the fascinating added touch of a house built by Hemingway, now turned into a bar overlooking the savanna. The hospitality from the Maasai staff was particularly special; everyone was so welcoming, helpful and kind.
We were lucky enough to see an amazing variety of wildlife, including zebras, giraffes, elephants, warthogs, hyenas, hippos and even a beautiful family of lions resting in the bush.
Overall, it was an unforgettable first safari and such a fun, safe and well-organised experience. If I were to book another safari, I would absolutely choose Balu Travel again, and I’ll definitely be recommending them to friends back home who are looking for an amazing Kenyan adventure! 🇰🇪🦁

Best safari experience ever
We had the best safari experience with Sam.
Started off at Amboseli with an amazing day and a half game drive.Then Maasai mara, here is where Sam truly shines, he’s a local and knows everyone and everyspot. We managed to see all the big five and more in a day and a half.
Sam is driven and passionate about his job, you can tell by the care he put in every detail (even servicing the car late at night so it could be at its best for us), amazing human being as well.
Couldn’t have asked for more and we’ll miss him dearly but hopefully will meet again soon in the future for another adventure.
Morris handled the booking very patiently and professionally.

Great experience
We had a 4 day tour to Lake Nakuru and Maasai Mara with Shaddy as our guide. The tour was amazing, we were able to see the big 5 and the ugly 5, as well as many other amazing animals. Shaddy was very nice to us, very thoughtful and provided good information about the wildlife and the Maasai culture.

Amazing experience
We had an amazing time with Benson and Tetu, who took us to the Masai Mara, Lake Nakuru, and Naivasha. We were incredibly lucky to see the Big Five, along with some truly amazing sightings.
Benson and Tetu were both professional, well organised, and always on time. They were also very accommodating, adjusting our start and finish times to suit our preferences. We spent long hours in the car, often 10+ hours a day, so it must have been tiring for them, although they never let it show. Their enthusiasm and commitment throughout the trip really stood out.
Both Benson and Tetu had a great eye for spotting wildlife and helped us make the most of every game drive. A special thanks to Tetu, who did all the driving with a smile on his face. He was incredibly patient, never complained, and maintained a positive attitude even after such long days. He also communicated very well with the other safari drivers, which was a great help in finding wildlife and getting us into the best possible viewing spots.
Together, Benson and Tetu made our safari a truly memorable experience. We really appreciated their hard work, flexibility, and good humour throughout the trip, and would happily recommend them to anyone planning a safari in Kenya.
