About out tour operator, he accompanied us from day one with a warm welcome and was attentive to our every need, even unscheduled. With his joy and sympathy he made us live a magical experience, which we will never forget. In addition, during the Safaris, he did everything to achieve our goal of seeing as many animals as possible, including the Big Five. Incredible one-day trip to Amboseli National Park, Kenya
My friend and I wanted to go to Amboseli National Park before starting our safari tour in Maasai Mara. We searched for tour operators that could organise a one-day tour from Nairobi and found Balu Travels through Safari bookings.
We had a great experience with them. Shaddy was an amazing driver and guide, going the extra mile to get us all the things we asked for. He picked us from our hotel early in the morning and we didn’t get back until 20:00. It’s a bit expensive but well worth it! We recommend picking the land cruiser and be ready for a long drive to and from the park.

Tetu and Benson are very knowledgeable about the park and very friendly as well.
Tetu and Benson were great tour guides. They are very flexible and always willing to help. Tetu, the driver was clearly very familiar with the national park, knowing exactly where to go and which roads to take, while Benson was very knowledgeable about the animals in the area.

Trustable travel company
Balu company organized our Amboseli tour in Kenya, the special request we asked for is to organize a transfer cross the border from Kenya to Tanzania after the tour finishes. Balu is professional, responsive from very beginning, listening to our request carefully, and planned seamless connection for us. The tour guide who took us to Amboseli is also professional, knowledgeable and friendly. Balu organized border transfer is smooth, the driver who picked us up on Tanzania side is also responsible and friendly, we appreciate the support Balu given to us, and this a trustable company.

Just amazing
No words to describe the amazing hospitality shown by the professional and good hearted Jackson and his brother Benson throughout our journey. Jackson with his best driving combined with Bensons amazing guiding skills provided us the best safari experience. They are the best in business. Amazing spotters and professionalism. Wildlife safaris and travel was comfortable. Stay camp was amazing with superb staffs food. 5/5 recommend this travels. Definitely coming back for more with Balu travels

Great value of money
Reliable, flexible, and great value for money
We had a great experience with our guide Kish. He was always on time, very knowledgeable, and flexible with our itinerary when needed.
Beyond being professional, he was fun to be around and made us feel comfortable throughout the whole trip. The service was excellent for the price. I would definitely recommend him to anyone looking for a solid safari guide

Balu Travel Focussed on shopping rather than Safari
Balu Travel safari agency cared more about shopping than animal viewing. We had a long (more than 30min) shopping stop everyday, even inside the natural park and this one was at 9am!! just during the best time for animal viewing. Meeting times with the driver James were always late. On the ongoing trip from Nairobi we had to wait for 1h for some supplies which were not picked up in Nairobi. The safari started at 8am when other agencies start 6-7am for better chances of game viewing. The driver James spent most of the time at the phone, didn't explain anything, no comments and explanations about animals, only the passenger next to him could hear him, he only talked when asked and mostly responded with shortest answers possible. The driver James wasn't friendly. One visitor was curious and liked to ask questions, driver wasn't friendly with him, seemed he didn't want to respond or talk, it was very uncomfortable. Everything seemed rushed, the most important thing was stopping at selling points even inside the park. Afternoon game drive was very rushed, he just wanted to show the river and the Tanzanian border, try to finish as early as possible and no interest at all for animals. Visitors had to ask to stop and to get closer to animals because the driver wanted to finish the safari as soon as possible.

Reliable , good value too
This was the third time I have used this company for a two day trip to the Meru National park staying in Ikweta lodge . The Guides were very friendly and reliable and adapted to our schedule. We had the park to ourselves on both game drives the lodge is also very good value for money and absolutely gorgeous.
The only thing to note was that the seatbelt didn’t work in one of the seats, so I would just make sure that they check it next time before setting off
