Fun.
The communication could improve, however this was all compensated by such a cheerful team they have. there is always room for improvement especially with camping tours, especially when going to areas with limited activities having a detailed plan shared, and sticking to it.
Apart from that the tour did live up to expectations

Great Safari and Beach Vacation
We had a great trip with Uhuru Travel. I am living in Afghanistan, so it was hard to coordinate with those coming from North America. Uhuru made it easy to speak in real time on Whatsapp. They managed our booking of our lodge, flights, and everything. We did have a hiccup in that the days we selected were already booked, so we had to change them around after we had already put the deposit down, but our hotel in Zanzibar was flexible and didn't charge us for changing the dates of our booking. It was amazing to have beach time in Zanzibar, then the safari, perfect vacation. I have been on safaris before, this one we went to Ruaha park, which was overwhelming with elephants. They were everywhere. The camp was cool, it was in the middle of no where, we heard lions and elephants up against our tent in the night, which was terrifying, but they had a Masaai warrior there protecting us. Was a great trip.

An Experience of Connectedness
Ubuntu is a complex word with many meanings, but the essence is "I am because we are", emphasising connectedness among us all. This title is a good choice for African Ubuntu Safaris which provides tours exploring the beauty of southern Africa, the people, plants and animals. For us, this was the trip of a lifetime, never having been to Africa previously. The organisation was seamless, background information provided on the tour was very comprehensive and the balance of venues provided a wonderful variety of experiences, never to be forgotten (many pictures). Cuan McLaren was anticipated to provide a journey with an exceptional level of service and he more than succeeded.
Would we recommend African Ubuntu Safaris? You bet.
Will we be re-booking with Cuan? You bet.

Worth every penny
Great expiriance with a very professional team behind the tour

The perfect trip
We took a three day safari into Selous game reserve with Grassroots. We are a family traveling with two preteens. We were absolutely in the clouds with our trip, the communication before was great, the organization of the pick up and activities was spot on. Our guide and driver was Fikiri and the guy is the perfect guide, a wildlife specialist that knows the ins and outs of this amazing land. We stayed in the Selous wilderness camp and they go highly recommended for our part. The camp is in an amazing location on a riverside with monkeys whipping about in the trees, hippos and crocs in the river below. The tents can hardly be called tents, they are luxurious, clean with full facilities and privacy. Staff as friendly and helpful as can be imagined.
All in all an amazing experience and with that price ticket we feel it was great value for what we paid.

Tongesai accomodated our every need and provided outstanding info for our trips near Victoria Falls.
Our trip included a river trip and safari into Chobe in Botswana, travel to Vic Falls from Cosane, sunset cruise on the Zambezi, safari to Livingstone game preserve, helicopter trip over Vic Falls, walking tour at Vic Falls, and accommodations at a tent camp in Vic Falls. Tongesai was very professional and instrumental is setting up the entire trip, and his coordination was very well done. He also made us feel much more comfortable by providing information about stores and available services, information about the countries, their cultures, and the protocols. As amateur overseas travelers, this allowed us to embrace much more about the visited areas than just seeing and enjoying the wildlife. We felt like we had not only a trip coordinator, but a personal tour guide and a personal liaison with the people. This meant so much to us, and I believe this is an important element of your business...to provide this kind of care for an area considered very remote for most people visiting from overseas. Thank you for the experience, kindness, and personal care.

Our safari experiences in southern and eastern Africa organised by Cuan were outstanding.
Travelling as a couple for 6 weeks we were totally blown away with every aspect of the trip organised by Cuan.
Despite us booking relatively late for this trip, Cuan did a magnificent job in organising a total package for us at short notice. The communications process at booking time and then after our return was excellent and all requests were quickly managed.
Once on our trip, it soon became evident that every aspect of the tour was well planned and not once during the entire journey did any hiccup occur.
The standard of accommodation, safari experiences and quality of food more than met our expectations. All local guides were very well versed in their roles and were a pleasure to travel with.
All transport connections and flights operated without any issues and transfers from transport points to hotels/camps were seamless.
One exceptional experience for us was the Pangolin Lodge near the Chobe National Park. Open only 12 months, this place was brilliant, especially their photo safaris on the river. At Cuan's suggestion, we also went to the Northern Serengeti and this was one of the most memorable parts of the trip as we got to witness the Wildebeest migration. Our stay a Nasikia Mobile Camp was a highlight.
If visiting Africa again, we would immediately contact Cuan at African Ubuntu Safaris and we would recommend them to anyone considering a trip to that part of the world.
