The World's Greatest Wildlife Spectacle That Should Be at the Top of Everyone's Bucket List
Overall rating
5/5

The Maasai Mara is the classic picture of Africa everyone imagines and my favorite of the four parks visited on my recent three week trip (also visited Nairobi and Lake Nakuru in Kenya, Etosha in Namibia.) A full day game drive in the Maasai Mara included dozens upon dozens of elephants, giraffes, buffalo, zebra, antelope, etc., two quality sightings of pride of lions(including a male and female right on the side of the road and a pride with cubs eating a carcass), a river full of hippos and crocodiles, lots of birds, beautiful landscape, a visit to the border with Tanzania and a visit to the Maasai Village. Perhaps the biggest surprise was a distant peak at the Great Wildebeest Migration across the Tanzania border in Serengeti National Park (we were well informed we came a couple weeks too early to see the migration.) This is truly the most amazing wildlife spectacle on earth and the most beautiful place I’ve ever been. Also, affordable safari tours and lodging is readily available. The roads are a bit bumpy and big cat sightings lead to lots of jeeps but those are very meager prices to pay for a perfect day.

The Perfect Introduction to Africa
Overall rating
5/5

Nairobi National Park was the first stop on my three week trip to Africa and it was the perfect introduction to the safari experience. We saw two prides of lions, a serval with kittens, several white rhinos including some with babies, giraffe, zebra, hippos, crocodiles, buffalo, ostrich, a huge troop of baboons, warthogs and a wide variety of antelope. Its herd sizes and scenery are not quite at the level of the Maasai Mara but all the iconic animals except elephants are here and easy to see.

Beautiful Park
Overall rating
4/5

While the Maasai Mara was a tough act to follow, Lake Nakuru had many high points. White rhinos, Rothschild’s giraffe, flocks of greater and lesser flamingos, scenic landscape, wide variety of birds, an enormous troop of baboons and a massive zebra crossing were highlights but no denying the show was stolen by a quality sighting of a leopard, the most elusive and difficult to find of the iconic safari animals. It is a small park but a great complement to the Mara.

Don't Miss Staying Up at the Waterholes
Overall rating
5/5

Visited Namibia and Etosha after spending a week in Kenya. While not as game rich or scenic as the parks in Kenya, Etosha certainly has a character in its own. Etosha is unique because of its sprawling dry landscape and its waterholes that attract huge of wildlife (including what I swear are the biggest elephants I’ve ever seen in my life.) Even better is if you stay in the park you can stay up all night at the waterhole in your campsite watching animals. The highlight was seeing three species high on my list but often rare to see: black rhinoceros, honey badger and cheetah. Species we saw:

African Elephant
Black Rhinoceros
White Rhinoceros
Cheetah
Angolan Giraffe
Plains Zebra
Blue Wildebeest
Springbok
Gemsbok
Greater Kudu
Impala
Red Hartebeest
Honey Badger
Black-Backed Jackal
Banded Mongoose
Steenbok
Bat (unsure of species)
Yellow-Billed Hornbill
Ostrich
Pied Crow
White-Backed Mousebird
Guinea Fowl
Egyptian Goose

Amazing experience!
5/5

I worked with Christelle from Gondwana to plan a travel itinerary for myself, my son and his girlfriend for this past June. Many times during the trip, the three of us would exclaim, "wow, Christelle really nailed this". The plan worked out flawlessly and smoothly. We were at 3 different lodges in Botswana, so lots of logistics with travel to each of them. Everything came off without a hitch. The lodges Christelle suggested for us were exemplary. I am not sure how many ways there are to say that she provided us with an amazing experience. She really did. I also found Christelle responsive to questions I had before we left regarding details I was uncertain about. I am so glad to have found her, she created a memorable trip for me and my family.

Well organised and our guide/ driver, Fred, was superb
5/5

10 days, lots of travel, bumpy roads, comfortable ( very!) camps, good food, nice cocktails. And that’s without seeing plenty of game including lions cheetahs, elephant, water buffalo, hippos , antelope. Etc. our driver, Fred was superb- knew all his birds, animals, and lots more. ( plus being a very good 4WD driver) I would go again tomorrow!

A trip of a lifetime
5/5

After initial good contact with Sedrick back in 2020, but cancellation due to Covid, we have decided to do our honeymoon with Ngoni Safaris this June. We opted for a 12 days Gorilla, Chimps, Big 5 and nature sighting Safari and what can we say, this trip was incredible. We trusted Sedrick and his team in arranging this trip for us and selecting and booking the accommodations and permits for us. Contact prior to the trip was mainly through WhatsApp, with updates and further info provided upon request.

After all, everything went very smooth and this trip exceeded our expectations (first time travelling in East Africa). With the Gorilla trekking being the main reason to come to Uganda, we can now conclude that every day was a highlight. Our guide, driver and new friend Eddy was one of the main reasons for this. Eddy has a lot of knowledge about the country, the culture, national parks and the animals, and was very happy to share his knowledge with us. He knows every speed bump in this country, is an excellent spotter of animals and overall, a very friendly, social and caring person.

During this trip we visited Ziwa Rhino Sanctuary, Murchison Falls NP, Kibale NP for Chimp Trekking, Queen Elisabeth NP, Bwindi NP for Gorilla Trekking, Lake Bunyonyi and Lake Mburo NP for a walking safari.

The selected accommodations were great with very attentive staff. At two occasions, a candlelight dinner had been arranged for us which was lovely. Buffalo Safari Lodge in Queen Elizabeth NP was the most spectacular accommodation with elephants coming very close to the cottages and the pool area in their search for water and food.

A few short-notice changes were made to our itinerary, but all were made in our best interest.

We can 100 % recommend Ngoni Safaris and travelling with Eddy. Hope to see you again very soon!
