Amazing hike with an awesome crew to the top of mount meru
5/5

We had an amazing 4 days 3 nights trip to mount meru with mathew. He was very caring and professional during the whole trip, always trying to adapt to our needs. Never forgetting to have a lot of fun and enjoying the time together. The trip to the summit of mount meru was a challenging but in the end amazingly rewarding experience, we will never forget.

I was absolutely delighted to have James Gichina as my driver . Fantastic driver and animal info.
5/5

James was always on time , never rushed us , and always seemed to know where the next animal was that we wanted to see. We were so thrilled to see all of the Big 5 AND giraffe, zebra and so many beautiful birds.James knew the name , breeding habits, feeding places of them all . His vehicle was always clean , with lots of water on hand always. We had a wheelchair user in our group , but James dismantled n put together the wheelchair several times every day , with his beautiful smile. I would definitely recommend this company to anyone, and request James Gichina as driver… HE’S THE BEST . Thanks James for giving me THE TRIP OF A LIFETIME.

Very good organization and communication from the moment we started organizing the trip while in Spain until the last day when Benjamin took us to the airport. The group that accompanied us on Kilimanjaro was excellent and the Safari with Benjamin was incredible!!!

Awesome
5/5

I did a three day gorilla tracking experience with Frena Adventures. From the time I was picked up, I felt taken care of and safe. My driver, Farouk, was professional, friendly, and was always on time. The gorilla trekking experience was seamless. We found and spent time with the Gorillas after only about an hour of trekking. We got very lucky. After trekking, I was returned to Farooq for the rest of my excursions. All of the hotel rooms that were booked for me and all of the activities I participated in were exciting and good. I was given a good glimpse of life in Rwanda/Uganda. We visited markets, a museum, did a community walk. My tour was catered to what I wanted to see. I definitely recommend this tour to other people. I literally have no complaints about anything.

Outstanding
5/5

I took the 5 day Tsavo East, Tsavo West and Amboselli game park safari from Diani Beach with Bushtop Kenya Safaris.
Everything was excellent. Julius the driver/guide was very safe and cautious and I never worried. The selection of hotels was 5 star and the food was excellent. We had 3 game drives every day. I liked the pop-up roof on the Land Rover. I saw all the animals I expected. Lots of elephants and zebras. Saw cheetah and lions. I contacted Bushtop safaris to book the tour two years ago. Unfortunately circumstances changed and I had to go solo but Denis honoured the original price and itinerary.
Overall it was an outstanding and enjoyable safari.
Much more luxurious than the one I had taken 43 years ago.

Next time again Makasa
5/5

We booked a year ahead our Tansania Safari (10 days) and a beach hotel in Zanzibar (7 days) with Makasa.
The Z-hotel in Zanzibar unfortunately release our 3 rooms (3 pairs ~60 years travelled) only 4 days before we flew out from Germany. The stress level was immense, BUT:
Due to the effort and engagement of Makasa the situation was fixed fast. Makasa took responsibility - even that this was not their fault, cross checked with the Z-hotel - and arranged a new accommodation, which was even better (all-inclusive @Royal Zanzibar Beach Resort). Makasa gave a professional impression on the phone and was always customer and solution oriented in a kind manner.

The Safari was also well planned and executed. The safari stations:
1. Olerai Lodge (1 night)
2 Tarangire Safari Lodge (2 nights)
3. Baghayo Garden Suites (2 nights)
4. In the wind Lodge (3 nights) - a highlight
5. Mawe Luxury Tented Camp (3 nights)

flight to Zanzibar

Zanzibar:
6. Royal Zanzibar Beach Resort (7 nights)

During the safari we had an excellent guide Augustino, working for Makasa, who explained all details of the different areas we visited. From the birds to the plants with an excellent eye for the details he explained with passion and patience - for non native english speakers - the environment. In addition his excellent guide network with other drivers ensured to find challenging animals like e.g. Leopards in the trees. During the trip he became part of the "family" and was "not only the driver/guide". Thanks for that!!!

As we have been alreads ~60 years old, so weaknesses of the people needed to be handled (e.g. sea sick guy :-) on safari...). These challenges have been also handled save and well. We enjoyed the big five, the atmosphere of the nature, the accomodations and the people very much on that trip.

Therefore, with the experiences made:
Makasa can be recommended further, without any constraints, which we have done already @friends and family.

If we are comming back to Tansania one day, we will definitely go with Makasa.

Thanks Makasa for the unforgettable experience. And BIG thanks to Augustino,

the OK Ok group from Germany

Eastern Uganda Birding Tour
5/5

This tour exceeded our expectations as far as the quality of the birdwatching and expertise of our guide/driver Davis. We checked many endemics off our list with the patient and expert tracking of Davis. we feel we had excellent value for money. we chose basic accommodation which puts you squarely in the parks and reserves. We aren’t overly fussy people so we’re fine with cold showers and no air conditioning but thrilled with en suite bathrooms with a “stool” toilet. My only recommendation would be to pack a rechargeable fan for extra comfort. we had been to Uganda 2 years ago for the “traditional” safari so our focus this time was more on birds, a passion of my husband’s. Davis is a very funny and easy-going guy. We shared our meals with him but also had plenty of down time over the hot noon to 4pm time. We are already considering another trip with him to Kenya to try and see the cheetah and more endemics.

Thom can spot all of the animals!!
5/5

My husband and I had a 5 day safari with Thom, he is a great guide. He has the most spectacular eyesight, he saw animals long before we could spot them. We did not miss seeing any of the big 5. The Ndutu plains was the best safari I have ever been on, so many animals.
The accomodations and food were wonderful.

Communications with Great Escape Trails was on time and meaningful. If you are going to Tanzania to see the animals and meet the people, pick Great Escape Trails
