Whistle-stop tour through the Kalihari, Namibia & Skeleton Coast deserts
Great Explorations organised a (customised) 7-day self drive safari in Namibia for us. They helped us plan out how we could visit highlight locations, and organised the entire itinerary. Amazing experience
We booked the 5-day safari through Suricata and were absolutely lucky with Freddy. The tour was well planned and included 4 national parks (Tarangire, Lake Manyara, Serengeti and Ngorongoro). Food was included in each one and even the hotel before the start of the safari was included in the price.
We couldn't have had a better time with our guide Freddy, he knew all the information, whether about the animals, the national parks, the nature or the history of Tanzania. We learned an incredible amount and thanks to our guide's keen eye we even saw all of the "Big 5" in the 5 days. The accommodations were great and very well maintained and the food was consistently delicious. There was always a buffet for breakfast, a communal picnic for lunch and great food in the accommodation in the evening. We spent two nights in a list and two nights in very luxurious "tent" camps right in the national parks. It was a really impressive experience!

Incredibly professional and attentive, ensuring a seamless and unforgettable adventure experience.
I had an incredible experience with Spirit of Kilimanjaro and Safari. From start to finish, the team truly went above and beyond to make my Kilimanjaro hike unforgettable. They provided me with a large double tent all to myself, with one half for sleeping and the other half set up with a table and chair for meals and relaxation. The porters Heliman, Iddi, Alihasi, and Fanueli ensured everything was perfectly arranged for my comfort. Salimu made sure I had everything I needed at all times, from food, hot tea, to warm water for washing, which was such a thoughtful touch. The food was simply amazing, with Nicolous preparing a wide variety of delicious meals every day.
The guide was another highlight, Tuliza speaks excellent English, is incredibly knowledgeable, and tailored the trip to suit my needs, adjusting the route based on his experience and how well I was managing the altitude. His insights and support made a real difference.
A special thank you to William, who organized this entire adventure last minute after the original plans changed when two people I was supposed to join decided to take a different route. Despite the short notice, everything was handled smoothly and efficiently.
When we finished the hike earlier than planned, William was very flexible in arranging a hotel stay and a 4 day safari, all at a great price. His ability to adapt to changes in schedule and still offer excellent service made the whole experience seamless and stress-free.
Overall, I can’t recommend Spirit of Kilimanjaro and Safari highly enough! Their attention to detail, professionalism, and warm hospitality made this an experience I’ll never forget.

Perfect experience
It was a perfect experience!
We were able to experience the national parks Tarangire, Lake Manyara, Serengeti and Ngoro Ngoro in 5 days and our expectations were far exceeded! Our guide Freddy gave us very much time with the animals and could answer all our questions very competently! He taught us a lot about the wildlife and nature. In Tansania we could see and experience an intact ecosystem. The homemade meals made the tour perfect. It was extraordinary and we can absolutely recommend this tour!

Customer centred tour operator
We were a team of 8 from Ghana on the tour. This was the first time using this operator and I am very happy I selected them. The tour operator helped me in planning the tour to decide on the best combinations of site scenes and days at each site, hotels were very special and the tour guides were very professional and excellent. Really enjoyed the tour. Will surely recommend them to anyone who needs their services

Very helpful and responsive in the booking process.
Africa Bed of Roses were very easy to deal with. They responded quickly to queries by email and we were happy that they were providing what we wanted, including adding some extras in. They met us at the airport and the guide was a good driver. Accommodation was excellent. The advertised safari lodge was not available but the substitute was lovely and I would willingly return to it. The guide was obviously very familiar with the area of the Masai Mara that we visited and he was able to find lots of wonderful wildlife to observe.
Our only concern was about the actual vehicle that we travelled in. It needed jump-starting a few times and then broke down so we had to be transferred to another vehicle to complete our journey. The guide had to facilitate this himself as there was no obvious back-up . We have fed back to Africa Bed of Roses that we feel the vehicle is in need of a major service.
This incident would not stop me using them again.
