About: Botswana
Vast wilderness and wildlife
Overall rating
4/5

I went on a mobile safari to Savuti and Khwai (which I especially loved because of the scenery next to the river) and one day in Moremi.

I was a solo female traveler and felt well protected and looked after by the crew of my tour operator Xaa Safaris. I had a spacious tent with an en-suite bathroom and loved hearing the animals at night: lions roaring, hyaenas howling, elephants rumbling and hippos barking. I was great to watch the elephants strolling through the campsite in Khwai during the day, and I even encountered an elephant drinking out of a my wash basin while I was inside the tent! We saw lions a few times in Savuti and Moremi, came across a pack of wild dogs and a bat-eared fox couple and had a great leopard sighting where we spent quite some time with the animal. Apart from that we enjoyed spotting many gracious giraffes, a lot of hippos and elephants, but also saw also the rarer sable and roan antilopes and ground hornbill. It was good fun and excitement to track lion, leopard or hyaena.

After the safari I spent a few days in Maun and went on a one day trip to Okavango delta.

I can recommend Botswana as a travel destination for its vast wilderness and wildlife. Looking forward to return and see other areas like the salt pans and Kalahari.

Everything and more than you would ever imagine in Africa
Overall rating
5/5

South Africa has so many diverse geographical regions, waterfront at Cape Town, agriculture both beautiful and tasty, and multiple terrain for animals. We’ve been to multiple countries in Africa for safaris and loved all of them, however it seemed South Africa had even more to offer. Absolutely best wildlife, we saw everything on this trip that it took several trips to see in the past, although maybe we were just lucky since animals aren’t predictable. We even had an opportunity to do the shark cage diving, a little different than Great White cage diving we’ve done elsewhere, but a great experience just the same. And if nothing else, you could eat your way around the country, especially outstanding is the produce. Kudos to G Adventures who we traveled with part of the time, and Mmilo Tours for an outstanding private sunrise tour. We would go back in a heartbeat. And before I forget, the history should not be missed with a tour of Robben Island and Soweto. Lastly, the people of South Africa are beyond friendly and helpful.

Great guide, worst agency
1/5

I do not recommend this agency at all.

All the bookings are fine, but they hadn’t pay petrol fee to our guide in advance , so we had to stay at petrol station twice for long time to wait them to send money to our guide.
Eventually they did not send him money so he had to pay out of his pocket. Which is INSANE.
As you know, petrol fee in Kenya is bloody expensive.

Anyway, our guide was super nice guy. He said that our tour will be the last job with this agency. Bless him.

Tanzania Safari: An Extraordinary Experience with Meijo and Guides Assad and Eila
5/5

I have just returned from an unforgettable Tanzania Safari adventure, meticulously planned by Meijo, and I am eager to share every thrilling moment of this journey.

From the outset, Meijo demonstrated their professionalism and enthusiasm. Their attention to detail and deep understanding of customer needs ensured that our travel plans were both thoughtful and personalized.

Our journey began in the Serengeti National Park, one of Tanzania's most spectacular wildlife reserves. Assad and Eila, our guides, not only had an intimate knowledge of the animals' habits but also accurately predicted their movements, affording us the opportunity to observe lions, elephants, giraffes, and more up close. Their professional guidance and respect for nature made every wildlife encounter safe and unforgettable.

However, the climax of our Safari was undoubtedly the famous Great Migration crossing. Under the leadership of Assad and Eila, we witnessed the spectacular scene of thousands of wildebeest and zebras crossing the Mara River. This is one of nature's greatest migrations, and being able to witness this miracle is thanks to Meijo's meticulous planning and the guides' professional guidance.

In addition to wildlife observation, this Safari trip also allowed us to experience Tanzania's natural beauty and culture. From the vast plains of the Serengeti to the magnificent scenery of the Ngorongoro Crater, every step was filled with surprises. Assad and Eila shared their love and knowledge of this land, giving us a deeper understanding and respect for Tanzania's nature and culture.

Meijo's thoughtful service, from itinerary planning to accommodation arrangements, reflected their professionalism and commitment to customer experience. Their team ensured that every aspect of our trip was comfortable, safe, and filled with unforgettable memories.

In summary, this Tanzania Safari trip was an unparalleled experience. Meijo and guides Assad and Eila's professional services made our trip flawlessly perfect. I highly recommend Meijo to any traveler seeking a true African Safari experience. This is not just a trip; it's a life-changing adventure.

Perfect Safari Operator
5/5

We booked a 6d/5n Safari (tarangire, Lake Natron, Serengeti, Ngorongoro crater and Lake manyara) and we enjoyed the tour a lot. Our guide was awesome and we had a good time. He was perfectly connected with other guides and helped us to see the big 5 within the safari. We stoped whenever we wanted to take some pictures and also the lodges we're really nice. Would absolutely book again with destiny explorers!

Amazing Travel Experience
5/5

The staff was conscientious and careful to help us coordinate our lodging options. The guide Solomon is professional and guided us to a rare sighting of hyenas hunting zebras. The homemade salad was well received by the group.Zohar is a trustworthy tour operator that you can choose with confidence! I will also recommend it to my friends.

The tour operator was informative, friendly and was able to adapt to what we needed for a holiday.
5/5

We had good communication for a specific time frame to fit in a short trip to what we describe as the overall best Game reserve in Southern Africa, Madikwe. It is closer to Joburg than Kruger and we had good value on travel costs by being able to be picked up from our suburban Joburg address front door on time and driven by a very pleasant driver to the front door of our first lodge in the game reserve about five hours with a few stops by lunch time. The second night as it worked out due to availability at short notice was spent at a different lodge about half an hour away and the lodges were able to arrange this transfer. So we ended getting to experience two lodges which are both top quality with very experienced staff and guides. There were swimming pools at both lodges for a pre drive swim and meals and drinks were included in the rate. The beauty of this game reserve is you only see two or three other vehicles on a game drive and the sighting system is strictly managed I believe. We saw lions and cheetah during our four game drives but sadly missed out on a leopard and wild dog sighting. But we did see hyena, elephant, giraffe, buffalo and many more. All of the above was included in the quoted rate except for a steepish conservation fee from both lodges.

Great experience!
5/5

I had a really wonderful experience with Shaun and the other staff, especially as a solo female traveler. Any time any issues came up, everyone was very willing to help resolve issues and adjust to any changes I requested to my itinerary.
