Tilman safaris is arguably one of the best tour operators if not among the best.The safari to Mt Kenya summit wouldn't have been any more wonderful.From the great guide Bernard who was very knowledgeable and had facts about the place and every information was well explained. I didn't expect to find such good food on the mountain but with Tilman safaris you get the best of what there is.The porters made sure that the luggages were handled with care and got to camp on time, showing shear determination to serve their clients.The whole team made sure I was in good condition all of the time from the onset of the journey, to the summit till the end. Kudos to Charles for the good work. I'm looking forward to another safari with Tilman Safaris.

World Traveler - Best Experience Ever!
To celebrate my birthday, my daughter's engagement and my niece's graduation from University, I planned a trip to Africa!
Let me first start by saying, planning a Safari can be a daunting task. There are so many options to choose from, so much to see, and it is expensive to travel across the globe so you want to be sure you get the best value for your money. Trust me, it is not easy to navigate.
We wanted to capture as much as possible while in Tanzania and we packed our schedule with every opportunity!
I have been in the travel industry for over 30 years and have planned all of my family, personal and professional trips for as long as I can remember. I have OCD and micro manage every detail of a trip to ensure the best experience is had by everyone involved. I've planned trips to Russia, Greece, Australia, and the UK just to mention a few. I had never used a travel or tour company, never really needed to. This was the exception and I made the best decision ever!
From the first point of contact until the last hug goodbye it was a perfect experience, and I don't say that lightly. In the spirit of brevity I will only point out a few of the best features of the organization. Robert, Harry, Silas, Joshua and the entire team care! They are committed to ensuring everyone has an amazing experience. I was nervous about the pick up at the airport, don't be. They are standing at the door with a sign, cold beer and a smile waiting for us to arrive. The communication was outstanding, before, during and after the trip. I never had to call twice, or wait for a response more than a day. I changed our itinerary several times due to a variety or reasons, mostly my desire to stay in the best resorts, which was executed on perfectly. I added adventures along the way, horseback riding, a hot air ballon ride, a walking safari, it was all accommodated and with exceptional ease by the team.
RO set up special events at the resorts to celebrate our occasions, at every turn we were surprised and delighted with thoughtful touches.
Harry, our guide, was amazing. Always first or second on the scene to experience the animals first hand. Not only did we see the Big 5, we saw so much more thanks for Harry's expert eye and years of experience. He was so kind to us and treated us like family the whole time.
Breaks, meals and bathroom breaks were all exceptionally executed, even in the middle of the Serengeti.
I honestly can't say enough about RO. I have already started working on another adventure with them and have recommended them to all of my friends and family. They are flexible with your budget and have options in every price range just tell them what you want to see and let them work their magic.

Simon is incredible
Simon is on time, knowledgeable, fair and honest, he kept us safe and more importantly found us the best fellow guides in each location to help us have an unforgettable day outside Nairobi. Highly recommend him without any reservations. A good man and a great companion for trips. I was with my girlfriend and he kindly helped her when she was uncomfortable and made the day so special for us.

Great tour, brilliant guides, overall tour planning could use polishing
Overall we really enjoyed our tour which was a 3 day safari followed by a 7 day Kilimanjaro climb. The food was great, the Kili guides were brilliant and the porters all first class.
What could use improvement is the overall organisation of the trip for the following reasons:
1. Despite having picked the Safari for the accommodation which we carefully selected for our honeymoon, we were taken to a completely different place on one night and when we questioned this we were told the other one was probably full. Nobody ever attempted to advise us ahead of time and this should have been booked when the deposit was taken earlier. It was a similar but I believe slightly lower standard.
We never went to the final national park that was stated on the Safari itinerary. We weren’t bothered by the change but it was never advised why this happened, and if you had booked the tour specifically for each of the different national parks I can imagine being quite annoyed.
We were put on a 7 day Kili climb with another couple despite having booked the 8 day climb. The difference between the two tours was $200pp ($400 total) which was never offered as a refund (and would have been gratefully received). We ended up having to spend quite a bit of money reconfiguring our flights and accommodation to the new schedule so this was less than ideal. One of us didn’t make it up to the summit due to altitude sickness symptoms which may not have been the case had we remained on the 8 day.
Essentially we just felt that we should get what we booked/paid for and if any changes are necessary that they be communicated to us ahead of time and compensation offered where the offering is changed.
