Our family recently completed the 8-day Lemosho Route to climb Kilimanjaro with Nafika Tours in August, and it was truly an unforgettable experience! Right from our first inquiry, their transparency and willingness to address all our questions put us at ease—especially important as we were traveling with our 11-year-old and a family member who is vegetarian.

His warm and trustworthy nature truly stood out; he personally ensured we were well-prepared, and his friendly demeanor made us feel like we were in excellent hands. Elias was not only knowledgeable about the climb itself but offered invaluable insights into each day’s journey, and you could tell he genuinely cared about our experience and safety.
The on-ground facilities were top-notch, enhancing the entire experience. The cots, mattresses, and high tents provided us with far more comfort than we expected on such an intense trek. Additionally, having a private toilet tent was an absolute luxury on the mountain, making the whole experience more pleasant. Nafika Tours truly went above and beyond, paying close attention to the small details that made a big difference, especially considering we had a child with us.
The food was another standout feature. Every meal was carefully prepared with fresh ingredients, and the quality was superb. They were incredibly accommodating of dietary needs, ensuring delicious vegetarian options were always available—this attention to detail did not go unnoticed!
The guides, porters, and entire Nafika Tours team were fantastic. They were highly knowledgeable about the mountain, provided great encouragement, and were always looking out for our family’s well-being. We felt genuinely cared for throughout the climb, and their flexibility in adjusting to our pace or needs as a family was greatly appreciated.

The most professional and accommodating tour I have ever worked with.
From the start of the day to the end, each member of the staff went above and beyond to make sure I was comfortable and safe. From the tour guides to the front office, this is a company I will be using again because of the amazing people that run it. Tebby and Game were two special staff members I have to mentioned that were wonderful and key to my experience!! If your using another company you might want to rethink your decision. The chobe game drive and cruise will have you wanting to visit botswana every year.

Unforgettable safari drive and tour with amazingly friendly people!
We had an absolutely wonderful experience with Savannah Explorers! The tour was incredibly well-planned, and Agusti in the office went above and beyond to tailor the program to our specific needs and preferences. He was very flexible with accommodations and any changes we requested, making the entire process seamless. He made it possible to mix game drives with walks up Mount Kilimanjaro, a coffee plantation tour and a Maasai village visit for our brilliant 10-day holiday!
Our guide, Paulo, was fantastic— very friendly, very good driver, knowledgeable about the animals, and always patient. He sensed when we wanted to stop, having glimpsed one of the beautiful animals, or just a dung beetle crossing the road 😅. He was brilliant at finding the big five, spotting them from far away!
One of the highlights of our trip was his thoughtful gesture of preparing coffee and tea for us every day from his "secret box," (sorry for giving it away!) adding a personal and special touch to our safaris. Paulo truly made it his mission to ensure we had the best experience possible, even patiently teaching us words in Swahili, endlessly repeating them for us - asante sana!
The accommodations were all amazing. The lodges were beautifully situated near activities or within nature, giving us a true sense of being in the wild, yet they provided exceptional comfort. It was great to see their strive to be eco-friendly using natural materials and the frequent use of solar panels.
The meals were varied and plentiful and we loved the cardboard picnic lunchboxes as well as the Tanzanian policy of 'Trash in, trash out', protecting their environment.
The staff at each lodge were attentive, caring, and incredibly friendly, adding to the overall charm of our trip. Nzuri sana!
A nice touch could be to advise anyone booking a holiday with Savannah Explorers to bring along pencils, stickers, crayons, etc to give to children as we walk along tracks and villages - such smiling little faces greeting you everywhere you go!
We wholeheartedly recommend Savannah Explorers to anyone looking for an unforgettable safari experience, and more, in Tanzania.

Tanzania native Christopher shares his knowledge and love of Tanzania with his clients. Thoughtful, organized, patient and experienced, Christopher created a custom 12 day tour for us that achieved our goals of wanting to experience both a high-end lodging experience as well as in-the-park tent camp experiences. We never imagined we would see the number, and different kinds, of animals we did. Due to Christopher's experience, he knew when something was about to happen and twice we were able to view lions stalking prey. He could also spot animals we would never have seen without him, like leopards in trees. Christopher and the other tour guides he uses, which includes his son Warren, were a pleasure to spend our days and nights with (our group of 9 used two trucks).
