Superb service!
5/5

We first reached out to two agencies when we were looking to book our trip to South Africa. They didn't really answer our questions and took days to respond. One actually stopped responding altogether and we gave up after 3-4 follow ups. Then a friend recommended Discover Africa. She and her daughter both used them for their separate trips and both were very happy with the service. They certainly did not disappoint. Megan Warrington, our agent with Discover Africa, was... IS amazing! She responded right away and answered all (TONS and TONS!) of our questions fully and clearly. We never waited long for a response and the only things that held up responses were the time difference and both of our office hours. We gave her our desired travel dates, list of activities we'd like to do, accommodation types and a budget (a pretty low one at that) and she made it all happen! She revised the itinerary per our requests several times and seemed happy to do it every time. There were 5 travelers in our group and she accommodated every single one of our requests. They also provide all the information (contacts, tips, etc.) leading right up to the trip for everything we would need should we have any questions or issues before, during and after our trip. The trip itself was unbelievable! They really put together an amazing itinerary for us and we did not have any complications with anything. The lodges were great, the safaris were amazing, all the transfers were on time, everything was just as the itinerary explained it would be. This trip far exceeded our expectations and it was all thanks to Discover Africa and Megan Warrington (and of course our friend that made the recommendation)!

overall comments on the trip and the travel company.
5/5

i don't have enough great things about this Africa safari tour operator!I used them to plan our dream honeymoon to kenya and couldn't have done it without them.I actually had gone with another travel agency due to to the higher number of reviews, but after i had a negative experience through out the trip i decided not to use them again,i decided to give this company a shot and i am so happy that i did.A few highlights:

1.personal touch:
The owner scheduled a time that was convenient for us to talk over the phone as soon as i reached out to them about my inquiry.Even though they were based in Nairobi(more than later),they were always accommodating to my schedule even though i live in the states,He personally went over what we were looking for, gave me some great advice.

2.flexibility.
I like to be hands-on with trip planning and loved that the company was so flexible with all my requests. They let me use my miles/points to purchase some of the plane tickets and also book hotels on my own when i found a better price online.I always felt like they cared more about making me happy than making money.

3.Our agent:
I felt like i had to dedicate a whole section to our agent.since this was our first time traveling to africa and going on safari,we had a lot of questions.i think i sent 50 emails to him before the trip and another 20 during the trip.He replied to all my emails quickly and positively each time.He even met us while we were in Naiobi ,bought us a drink, gave us a thoughtful gift basket of local treats, and provided personal recommendations for activities and restaurants. All of his recommendations were spot on and it was great to get advice from someone that had personally experienced everything he recommended was very helpful. He has followed up with me since then to make sure that we got back okay and didn't just move on to the next client as most companies would.

Our Africa safari travel has gained a client for life and my wife and i will be recommending them to all our family and friends.Don't let the limited reviews dissuade you, they are small, boutique company that provides a personal touch, but have the resources and experience to handle most complex itineraries and requests.

Every aspect was amazing - yoga, setting, stars & company.
5/5

Prior to the retreat I had never done Yoga, had not slept under the stars on the Pans and had not managed to be quiet for so long. After the retreat, I have never looked at the stars in the same way. Debbie was amazing and I would recommend this to everyone whether you have done Yoga or not.

Brilliant levels of organisation, guiding and overall experience
5/5

We were 2 couples (30’s and 50’s) and we did safari for 7 days.
I did extensive research on a number of safari companies and easily chose Tanzania Expeditions because Justin Mtui (the director and owner) was rapid in his responses, he attended to each of my questions and offered the kind of versatility and readiness to adapt that we needed. We wished to mould our own direction and he made this easy. Their website is easy to navigate including checking on the various accommodation options and selecting the level of comfort/expense that we wished for.
I had asked Justin for a guide who was very knowledgeable about the ecology - and we were delighted with Emanuel. He was incredible and knew the names and the habits of the smallest insects, the birds and the larger animals. We also learnt so much about the country and its peoples and tribes. He had a great sense of humour and a readiness to shape up the days according to our wishes! The vehicle was comfortable and spacious and managed some wet and tricky roads with ease.
Our favourite accommodation was the tented camps. The 2 most noteworthy included Kirurumu tented camp and Lake Eyasi Kisima Ngenda Tented Camp. Both of these offered a wonderful experience of the African bush, were comfortable and beautifully decorated internally and within the external environment. We made the mistake of only having 1 night in each – give yourself 2! We also loved the National parks Lake Manyara and Tarangire – both interesting with copious game and bird life.

Dealt with Ms. Sona Thakrar of Karibu, she is very helpful and a very nice person to deal with.
My Friend Neel had arranged our Safari thro Sona and it was a very wonderful experience for all of us for a life time to remember.
Your driver was a very nice person and friendly in nature with good quality. We were very much happy with his friendly manner and enjoyed his company throughout our journey from Nov-22nd till Nov-26th.
We will always cherish our Tanzania visit and I am sure it would not be possible without Karibu World amazing facilities and the excellent hotel accomodations at Manyara, Serengetti and Ngorongoro....
Thanks Karibu

5/5

KWSS offered the complete package from problem-solving to completion. Their organization was prompt, courteous and efficient but most of all reliable. They will certainly be my “go-to” team for future safaris. Thank you for all your support and help over the time we spent with you; it truly is appreciated. Our vacation was exactly what we wanted and we got more than we expected.

Wonderful experience
5/5

We found KombiNation Tours while searching for Budget-Safaris to Queen Elisabeth National Park. And we were glad we did find them. Everything was perfect: we booked pretty short term, but everything went of without a hitch. The accomodations were wonderful, we loved the activities, especially the boatlaunch was simply amazing.
Rachel and Steve (whom we met shortly) are very friendly and advised us very well. All in all it was a great experience and absolutly recommendable

4 Parks in 6 Days - Once in a lifetime - Amazing trip
5/5

I guess I´m the first to review them here, but hey, sometimes always first, great review coming here!

Impeccable service from Wakawaka Adventures. Here are some details:

I got a recommendation from a family friend, that is how i chose them. First of all their answering and communicating through internet and phone with them was so professional, so speed, so good explaining of everything.
I was so surprised overall with the amount of animals and nature we were brought to. Every park was different than the other, every park with its own special something, quality. I must say the most memorable time was in Serengeti, with the view of the Cheetah mama and her babies, i was felt just paralyzed....of beauty.
Greg our chef! It was so surprising the amount of delicious food he could do for us on this single piece of gas thing where he cooked everything! Sometimes it got a little chilly in the evening and he just took all that away with his delicious vegetable - and other soups that he made for us.
Our guide, Samweli, what to say, his ability to find the animals was scary! Let me just say the other qualities simply:
Punctual
Entertaining
Funny, great sense of humor
Knowledgable
Comfortable
Friendly
I thank the Wakawaka team tremendously for arranging this once in a lifetime trip to Tanzania for us. Highly recommend anybody to go with these guys! Asante
