First class experience overall!
I had a fantastic experience with Ulusaba. The lodging is split into two sections. I stayed on the top of the hill which had amazing views. There is also the river lodging which would provide a different experience. Both provide unique experiences. The service inside the lodge was tops and can't say enough about the food and the staff. The guides were fun and very knowledgeable. There was an abundance of leopard at this particular reserve. However, there was a large pride of lions that had a kill the week we were there. Big five were all there and there was even a pack of wild dogs which was rare. I would recommend this game reserve to small groups or families. Best lodging I've experienced out of the three lodges I've stayed at.

An excellent introduction to Botswana.
My partner and I went to the Nxai Pans in September 2011 arranged by Far and Away, before heading off into the Delta with Letaka (through Naturetrek).
We stayed in Nxai Pans National Park at one of the government run camps, sleeping in tents and using the excellent solar showers at the camp. Our guide drove us on almost all of the tracks within the park, especially to the water holes which were teaming with birds and mammals. Although there were no big predators it was great to see so much wildlife on my first trip to Africa. On the last full day we went to the pans on route to Baines Boababs. The Pans were amazing; flat, hot and as far strecthing as you could see. The Boababs were an amazing place to stop for lunch! On the way back to camp on the very sandy road we had to rescue a couple who had stuck thier 4WD. I would recomend being driven!

Selous Game Reserve is a marvelous place to visit without masstourism hassle.
I visited Selous Game Reserve at the end of September 2011. Selous is a wonderful safari place where you can almost on your own move around and see lots of wild animals. In our safaris we saw only few other vehicles in the area. Selous Wildlife Lodge is excellent place to stay. Service is luxury, food, "tents" and people. Location is a minor problem, you have to drive quite far to see the "big ones". We managed to see lots of lions, elephants, impalas, giraffes, hippos and crocodiles. I recommend Selous to all safarilovers. And if you are in a honeymoon... go to Selous Wildlife Lodge, they sure know how to make your honeymoon unforgettable.

Wildlife, the big animals, are almost easy to see. It's not 100% guaranteed, but I think it shouldn't be that way. Tansania is a peaceful country. You don't have to be afraid all the time.
