The service was quite impressive because the driver drove safely and happily. I would like to give 5 stars for this trip to bring me to Safari. Thank you very much.

Life-threatening negligence & zero accountability
1/5

What began as a standard transfer from Masai Mara to Nairobi escalated into a life-threatening catastrophe due to Extra Miles Safari's unforgivable negligence. This is not a review - it's a warning.

At 9:00 AM, our driver collected us in a vehicle that immediately displayed alarming signs. Our ordeal started innocently enough.

The first breakdown occurred barely 15 minutes out of Masai Mara. At a roadside shack laughably called a "repair shop", mechanics spent 20 minutes hammering beneath the car. Our driver assured us this was "minor", but within 10 minutes of resuming the journey, the same horrific grinding returned. By 9:30 AM, we were prisoners in car for three hours.

At 2:00 PM, we foolishly believed the nightmare was ending. Then came the slope.

Our driver stopped the vehicle mid-ascent to "check something", casually exiting without engaging the handbrake. Through the rear window, we watched him walk toward the back - just as the jeep began sliding backward. My friend lunged for the handbrake, but it doesn't help. In the end, violent rollover crash occurred

The extra miles staff said countless sorry for what happened to us, but they refused to take any responsibility for it. They asked us to sign a blank insurance policy, asked us to recall the accident in detail, but refused to make any compensation.

This isn't about bad luck - it's SYSTEMIC FAILURE. Extra Miles:
• Operates decrepit vehicles unfit for safari terrain
• Employs untrained drivers
• Lacks basic crisis management protocols

To anyone considering Extra Miles Safari: Our shattered camera and torn clothes can be replaced. The image of that rolling hillside where we nearly died stays forever. Choose operators who value lives over profits.

Tourgy Tours is terrific.
5/5

We had a truly wonderful week in South Africa, all thanks to Emmah - generous with her time, warm-hearted, knowledgeable, down-to-earth, all round beautiful soul. Before flying north to Kruger Emmah showed us some of Soweto. The great spirit of the people of that city in the face of indescribable adversity was clear to see. We were privileged and moved to be taken to see Mandela’s home, and the apartheid museum, and Hector Pietersen’s memorial.

Once at Kruger the sunset safari revealed to us beautiful animals in the wild: A lion walks out the bush at night and stands right alongside our safari vehicle. He’s joined by a lioness and two cubs and they walk some way down the road in front of us. Hippos stare at us from the bushes. A leopard is briefly seen before he slips away into dense bush. Next morning, we leave in the dark for an all-day safari. An elephant herd walks noiselessly across the road, all the adults protecting the young ones, giraffes chew on thorn trees, hippos raise their eyes and ears above the surface of the river, a white rhino grazes peacefully. Baboons, hyenas with their playful young, zebras, impala and kudu abound. Our three drivers on safari, Lindokuhle, Sam and Edwin were exemplary in their friendliness, reliability, calmness and competence.

The Kruger Gate Hotel is outstanding, with a covered wooden bridge leading to our very comfortable room, a round fire in the middle of an outdoor eating area serving a buffet of huge variety, with singing and drums, and helpful and friendly staff. There’s another bar and cafe with pool, overlooking part of Kruger where animals sometimes go by. Not a moment of out time there was wasted.

Siyabonga Emmah, for our holiday of a lifetime!

I really enjoyed this safari tour, we got to see so many amazing animals very close and it was breath taking. Our tour guide Moses was incredible, he knew where to find all the animals and was an amazing driver overall. He made sure we were always comfortable and exceeded our expectations. Also enjoyed the vegetarian options.

Trip of a lifetime!
5/5

We spent 10 days and 9 nights on this amazing safari exploring Botswana and Zimbabwe...and it honestly wasn't enough! Our itinerary took us through Okavango, Chobe, Vic Falls, and Hwange NP, each offering a different, but equally amazing, experience. The level of professionalism and hospitality that we encountered from the guides and staff at every stop was next to none. A big part of the success of our trip was thanks to our travel agent, Karina. She took the time to cater our itinerary based on our budget and types of experiences we were looking for. She provided personal insight from her own travels to help us make the most informed decisions on where to stay and for how long. At each stop, either the airline or lodge manager knew what our next destination would be and had the logistics already figured out. This allowed us to be completely phone free during our trip which was a huge added bonus. We would give 10 stars if we could. Communication, service, value, and reliability of everyone we encountered on our trip was all top notch. If you're looking to book a safari, we highly recommend using Karina and Safari Online. They made what can be an overwhelming process simple and fun. We will definitely be using them again in the future.
