Deeply personal safari experience from first hello to final goodbye
From the very first text to the final drop-off at the airport, Africa Barefoot Safaris made our Kenyan adventure absolutely seamless and deeply memorable. As a family of three—myself, my wife, and our 9-year-old daughter—we felt cared for every step of the way, and we couldn’t have asked for a better introduction to this incredible country.
A huge shoutout to Prajwal, who runs the company with warmth, precision, and heart. She was incredibly responsive, helpful, and thoughtful throughout the planning and execution of our trip. Everything—from airport pickups to park transfers and lodge bookings—was coordinated like clockwork.
And to Patrick, our guide and now friend, thank you. You made this journey unforgettable. Your calm energy, deep knowledge of the wildlife, and ability to make each moment exciting (especially for our daughter!) brought Kenya alive for us. Within a day, it felt like we’d known you forever.
Our journey included:
• Nairobi - Giraffe Centre & Elephant Orphanage – a magical way to get up close with gentle giants
• Lake Nakuru – the rhinos here were a big highlight, and the landscape was stunning
• Masai Mara – the crown jewel of the trip. We got up close to lions, and even spotted leopards right next to us — my personal favorite moment.
My wife fell in love with the giraffes, especially the ones we saw during a glowing Mara sunset—it felt like something out of a movie.
And as for our daughter—her favorite was the “cute” warthog (yes, one of the Ugly 5!). She decided the warthogs were so adorable, she’s officially created a new category: the Cute 5.
This trip gave us more than just beautiful views and animals—it gave us shared memories, unexpected laughs, and new friendships. We can wholeheartedly say that Africa Barefoot Safaris delivered one of our best vacations yet.
To Prajwal and Patrick: thank you. We’ll be telling stories about this trip for years to come.

We did the safari for 3 days because we were volunteering with them in Arusha and we couldn't made a better choice, was more than enough because the three national were very different , it's not like you see the same animals and scenario everyday, it changes completely, a friend and i from Mexico were very fortunate because we did it with the volunteers we met in the house, that also wanted to do the safari and it was the perfect team, Mexico, Italy, Spain and England. And of course with our very friend Fhadil, who was the safari driver, that came one day before the weekend to to a briefing of what to bring, what we were specting, and all wee needed to know about what we were about to live. Without a doubt it's in my top 3, it's not everyday you visit different parks, with dear friends and logistically perfect. We were always very courious to know specifics about the parks, the animals, the safari truck, different safari seasons, safari parks, people living in different zones we were visiting and our guide always had an answer, if he didn't know he'll check the information. Had so much fun and WILL come back eventually, if you have the opportunity, DON'T MISS OUT.

I am so happy we managed to find such a good safari tour as they gave us, not just the best but one of the funniest and outgoing guide Albert.
I would highly recommend choosing him as your guide as he has been doing it for 22 years, which is just astounding to hear. That much experience you would think that you surely will see everything, right? Look no further as Albert, with his bare eyes, located every single animal that I couldn't see. He knows so much about these animals with just one glimpse of them, he knows the way around the parks without needing any guidance.
He would always try his best to keep the energy as positive as possible, always making jokes and laughing at ours. Such a great guide and overall person.
He never failed to make me smile once during the entire safari tour and will leave your jaw on the floor at how skilled he really is when put out in the open. Definitely one of the best guides out there and has a good sense of humour as well.
Thank you Albert so much for such a unforgettable experience, that will always have a place in my heart as this was my was my first safari and the BEST one too!

An exceptional safari experience—I can’t wait to return!
My safari adventure with Jungleroam Safaris was absolutely incredible, thanks to our amazing guide, Steve! From start to finish, his expertise, enthusiasm, and dedication made the trip truly special.
Steve’s knowledge of wildlife and the local ecosystem was impressive—he could spot animals from a distance and shared fascinating facts about each species. His passion for conservation and respect for nature were evident in every detail of the tour.
What stood out most was Steve’s professionalism and friendliness. He ensured our safety while making the experience fun and engaging. Whether it was tracking a leopard, witnessing a herd of elephants, or enjoying a breathtaking sunrise, Steve made sure we had the best views and photo opportunities.

I was very satisfied with the accommodation during the whole trip. I also liked the scenery very much. I also saw a lot of animals, such as lions, leopards, elephants, rhinos, hippos, deer, etc. We were very satisfied with the whole trip.

Genes was a highly professional leader.
We were a group of Swiss, German and Tansanien people, 24, climbing Mount Kilimanjaro on the Machame-Route. Genes team comprised 84 porters and leaders, who all knew what their job was. They were characterized by exceptionally precise cooperation. Daily medical checks and targeted measures when difficulties arose, endured the well-being of each individual. Everyone of the whole group reached Uhuru Peak!
The all-around care also included very good food for omnivores as well as for vegetarians or gluten-free eaters.
We slept in two tents and were woken up in the morning wirh the question: coffee, tea or hot chocolate? We started the day with a hot drink in the tent!
A short devotional each morning inspired us to hike connected wirh the Living One. The atmosphere was uplifting all seven days, even in the storm that tore a food tent. It was immediately dismantled and mendid.
Looking back on this life-changing ascent of Mount Kilimanjaro, I am still thrilled and draw on the especislly beautiful memories.
I can highly recommend Genes as a tour-leader.

Just Wow
We had a very good experience with this team. They showed us all the animals we wanted to see. I would especially like to say that there was a guide named Denis. It must have been the first time in my life that I had seen such a risky and brilliant guide.
Specially thanks to denis to support our group. If we late some time, he will manage and drive fast but reaching our place at time to time.
