Wonderful Experience
We saw so many animals, throughout the trip and had a wonderful time. The Land Cruiser was comfortable, all of the accommodations were great and very clean. Our guide, Herry, was super informative and willing to answer all of our questions, and he even spotted a black rhino from a distance completing our search for the big five! Great experience overall.

The quality of the tour and game drive experience really depends on the guide assigned. Our guide, Samuel Kariuki (Sammy), was experienced and knowledgeable, and we felt safe with his driving throughout the trip. However, our experience at Masai Mara was a bit disappointing. Despite spending hours driving through the park, we only saw 3 of the Big 5 animals, and much of the time felt like we were aimlessly driving without any animal sightings. Most other guides returned to the lodge for lunch, but Sammy opted for a bush lunch, which unfortunately didn’t add much to the experience given the lack of sightings afterward.
Additionally, for the Lake Naivasha tour, we were taken early in the morning when it was cold and foggy, which wasn’t ideal for sightseeing. A previous day afternoon would have offered better views and weather. While Sammy’s driving and professionalism were good, we felt the planning and timing of some parts of the tour could have been better thought out to improve the overall experience.

We had the incredible opportunity to visit
Tanzania in May to witness the stunning
wildlife and the famous Serengeti, and I must say, it was a once-in-a-lifetime experience.

We had an absolutely wonderful time in Kenya. We enjoyed the variety of accommodations and found the staff to be excellent and the food very good at all of them. We really appreciate Beacon organizing this experience. I especially want to express my appreciation for our guide and driver, Alex. His driving skills got us easily through areas where others were getting stuck and his navigation of some of the more challenging roads was quite impressive. His knowledge of the parks and wildlife was incredible. He knew where to best look to ensure that we saw all of the more memorable wildlife and followed leads from others to give us some very incredible sightings. We saw all of the Big 5 and witnessed the flow of the Great Migration from Tanzania into Kenya (including a lion ambushing a zebra as it crossed). He picked up very early in the trip that my wife and I were also interested in birds and he pointed out many of the unique species found in Kenya. I quickly learned to trust his identification of the many mammals and birds that we saw. To sum it up, I can't begin to say enough good things about him. He took what would have been an amazing trip and made it truly unforgettable.

We exchanged numerous emails over an extended period, and Esther was incredibly patient throughout—offering us various package options tailored to our preferences. I had an incredible 6-day journey through Kenya with Laxa Trails & Travels, and everything exceeded my expectations.
