The thirth safari with Moja Matata! Everytime was amazing!
5/5

This time we spent nine days in northern Tanzania: Moshi, Mkomazi National Park, Cerval Wildlife Park, Sadaani National Park, Mteruni Waterfall, and Dr. Coffee. Everything was wonderful and very well organized. Our German-speaking guide, Talib, explained everything very well and was incredibly attentive. We thank Leopard, our driver, for the safe journey. Thank you for this wonderful experience, and we're already looking forward to next year.

Great 9-day safari with excellent guides, great lodging, and smooth organization throughout.
5/5

We had a wonderful 9-day safari organized by Moran Discoveries & Tours in November, covering Nairobi, Lake Naivasha, Masai Mara in Kenya, and Serengeti and Ngorongoro in Tanzania. The itinerary was a well-designed mid-range option for our group of four (two couples), offering a good balance between comfort and adventure.

From the start, Moses was very knowledgeable, helpful, and responsive — even before the trip began. Our game drivers in both Kenya and Tanzania were very skilled and experienced, and thanks to them we saw a wide range of animals, including the Big Five.

The accommodations throughout the journey were spot-on: comfortable, high-quality lodges and camps. The food was good as well. Everything was organized smoothly, so we didn’t have to worry about any logistics. Even during a challenging moment with unrest in Tanzania after the elections, Moses stayed with us and made sure we felt safe throughout the journey.

Overall, this was a memorable experience. We compared many offers beforehand, and Moran Discoveries & Tours offered a good ratio of price to quality.

We fully recommend Moran Discoveries & Tours. A special thank you to Moses and Andrew — we truly enjoyed your company and appreciate your support during the trip!

Friendly and helpful
5/5

Very much enjoyed our tour. Staff at Thiam Travels were friendly and helpful throughout. Accommodations were lovely and Safari experience was good in spite of slightly inclement weather. Based on advertised costs for other safaris, this seemed good value for the money.

The most amazing trip, with the best guide - Kapande
5/5

This was our first safari, and we opted for a private tour with Uwanda.
It started in Dar Es Salaam where we were met by Kapande at our hotel. He then drove us to Nyerere National Park which took around 4/5 hours. We really enjoyed travelling by 4x4, with water and Aircon and good conversation.
When we arrived at the lodge (selous safari lodge) we were greeted with the most warm and lovely team. The lodge itself was beautiful, nothing was too much of a problem and the food was delicious. We didn't spend too much time at the lodge as our days were so full on in the national park, but when we were there it was perfect to relax.
The safari itself was unforgettable. We saw everything we wanted to, lions, elephants, giraffes, wild dogs, zebra, warthogs, crocodiles, hippos, impala, hartebeests, wildebeests and so much more.
Our favourite experience was having a picnic outside of the vehicle in a large open area on the bonnet of the 4x4. We all kept an eye out for eachother, covering each others backs incase an animal was feeling a little too confident.
The tour itself was made so much more enjoyable because of Kapandes incredible knowledge of the park. Having worked across many national parks, his wildlife knowledge and good nature made it a real treat. We are even considering coming back to Tanzania to visit a different park with Kapande.

Once again, a huge thank you to Uwanda tours and Kapande. It was the trip of a lifetime.

We were a group of four friends from Austria. Our safari began in Zanzibar and was very well organized. We drove to Moshi, visited three national parks, hot springs, and the Maturani waterfall. Leopard was a very good driver, competent, and always friendly and helpful. Our friendly guide, Talib, spoke excellent German and told us a lot. It was an impressive trip that we will always remember. Many thanks to Moja Matara and Talib!

A trip of a lifetime, made perfect by our tour guide, Kapande
5/5

We booked a private 4-day safari with Uwanda Tours for our honeymoon, and it truly was the trip of a lifetime. It was our first ever safari, so we weren’t entirely sure what to expect, but the experience exceeded anything we could have imagined and is something we’ll never forget.

From the moment we were picked up early in Dar es Salaam, everything ran smoothly. The 4–5 hour drive to Nyerere National Park (half tarmac, half dirt road) was hard going, but the car was airconned and the seats were comfortable, and we were well looked after throughout. After lunch and settling into camp, we enjoyed a short village tour of Mloka followed by a beautiful river cruise where we saw hippos, crocodiles and birdlife, ending with the most stunning sunset on the riverbank.

We stayed at Selous Safari Lodge which was gorgeous – it felt luxurious yet completely in tune with its surroundings. After long days in the hot sun, it was a peaceful haven to come back to. The staff were warm and friendly, and the food was great.

Days two and three were full-day game drives in the park, and we were blown away by how much wildlife we saw: lions, wildebeest, impala, kudu, elephants, giraffes, hyenas, wild dogs, zebras, hippos, crocodiles and so much more. Seeing endangered wild dogs was a particular highlight, and learning that they’re a symbolic species for the park made it even more special.

Our favourite day was day three, which was full of unforgettable moments. We watched a hyena feeding on a fresh kill, then found a pack of wild dogs soon after. Later, we visited a natural hot spring before stopping for lunch right in the heart of the park – picnic blanket on the bonnet of the Land Rover, shaded under an acacia tree, with giraffes and baboons in the distance. It felt cinematic and a really special moment.

On the final morning there was the option of a walking tour focused on plants and insects, though we were absolutely exhausted by that point, so we gave it a miss. We were then driven back to the airport for the next leg of our honeymoon in Zanzibar.

Our tour guide and driver, Kapande, deserves special praise. He was kind, friendly, and incredibly knowledgeable about the animals, landscapes, villages and local culture. He made us feel completely at ease, and his driving skills were exceptional – we always felt safe even when navigating muddy trenches, dried riverbeds, or steep ditches. His enthusiasm, patience and professionalism added so much to our experience.

We wouldn’t hesitate to book another safari with Uwanda Tours in a different Tanzanian national park, and we would absolutely request Kapande again.

If you’re considering a safari, we couldn’t recommend Uwanda Tours more highly.

About: Viatu
outstanding, personalised service with exquisitely selected locations
5/5

Before our trip, we were sent a website designed especially for us, which provided detailed information about all the hotels. Numerous activities and restaurants in the area were suggested to us. Our contact person, Simone, helped us book excursions. Shortly before the trip, we had a video call with Simone and received further individual suggestions for activities on site. All of this was absolutely outstanding.
The selection of exquisite hotels was fantastic in terms of location, facilities and service. It couldn't have been better. Viatu gets 15 out of 10 points.
