Our Safari Beach Vacation with Safari Soles was amazing and truly a trip of a lifetime due to our guide Ally Kimea! He went out of his way to ensure we saw everything we wanted and took time to educate us on animals and customs we have never seen/heard before. His knowledge and expertise is beyond the standard for tour guides. We got to see 4 out of the Big 5 and every extra animal on our list due to him. We even got to get up close with both lions and elephants. We were sad to move on to the beach and leave our expert guide but if possible would request him again and again! Love those animals!
It can be overwhelming selecting a safari company! Hopefully this review helps, I would definitely recommend Meijo. We were looking for a 7 day safari that included the North Mara River crossing and Meijo’s itinerary caught my eye. The price was reasonable and they tailored it to meet our requests. The accommodations were a nice variety of tented, Masai eco and mid-luxury lodges- all exceeded our expectations (beautiful settings and huge rooms!). Meijo’s office was responsive and clear in all of our communications.
Our guide, Michael, was fabulous. We teased him about being competitive - he was always trying his best to give us the best sightings and photo ops! When we were at the Mara River he spotted a single wildebeest stepping into the river, up river, threw the Landcruiser into drive and pulled into the best spot - well before others followed. I was able to get a great video of the wildebeests crossing the river, and a large crocodile (unsuccessfully) watching them! He had good relationships with other guides and rangers who shared information about where certain animals were hanging out - this allowed us to see most of the animals (wildebeests, zebras, giraffes, elephants, lions, leopard, cheetah, serval cat, baboons, Giselle’s (and other similar deer like), buffalo, hippo, rhino, warthogs, jackal, hyena, many bird varieties, ostriches and many more!). We were lucky enough to witness two lionesses hunting four warthogs, one lioness flushed them out and drove them to the second lioness who surprised them with the chase - they ended up hungry.
Book a safari and ask for Michael. When you meet him, specifically ask to see a buffalo in Northern Serengeti! He’ll tell you the story behind this suggestion.
You do a lot of driving on dirt roads, some parts very rough. At all times we felt very safe and comfortable with Michael’s driving. He was courteous, patient, knowledgeable and fun!
We did a walking safari in Tarangire park, so nice to see the animals in a natural setting off road - I recommend this. You don’t necessary get as close to the animals but it feels better!
If you are interested in the Northern Serengeti and the river crossing, I recommend two days in the North, but don’t compromise the Central Serengeti- have two days there too. Also a day in Ngorogoro! Other destinations are great too, but those were the best for us.

In the Serengeti, he meticulously guided us to stunning animal scenes, and in the Ngorongoro Crater, he strategically timed our trips to the perfect light and timing for many rare animal sightings. Every day, he efficiently and calmly allowed us to experience the wonders of the wild up close.
Ally also paid meticulous attention to detail—there were always clean, cold drinks in the car, and the packed lunches were delicious and plentiful. He even thoughtfully arranged breaks during long drives to share insights into local culture. His optimistic, friendly, and responsible attitude made the entire trip safe and enjoyable.

Greatest experience ever
Greatest trip I’ve ever done. The professionalism and hospitality of the team made all the difference. It’s important you have a driver that knows the ins and outs of the Maara - Shedrak was the guy! His passion and deep knowledge of the park was the reason we managed to see the big 5 with 2 days of our 4 day Safari. Will definitely be using them açai for my future visits!

It was my 1st time step into Kenya, Africa. Can't expected before my flight and feel excited when flight arrived. David picked us from the 1st day till the last day we off. Everything fine and save. Food is excellent for me. Road to be accepted due to location environment economy. But overall I would be rated 9 over 10.
