Friendly & Professional
5/5

We wish to thank the Company „It Started in Africa” for professional management of and friendly care for our team “Malgorzata x 9” (as you used to call our ad-hoc group of friends and we liked it very much! From now on you may advertise your company as “Safari Partners of BBC and Malgorzata x 9”.).
The itinerary seems to have been well devised and all was on schedule. The 3 lodges you have chosen for us were very good in terms of standard and services. We liked them also very much for their unique atmosphere and the beauty of landscape. Some of our group are professionally related to the Academy of Fine Arts in Warsaw and we really appreciate such elements of surrounding.
We wish to express our special thanks to Simon and Elia, our drivers-guides. They drove very safely and carefully, were very nice, kind and helpful.

Rwanda, Uganda, Burundi & D.R. Congo
5/5

I am an experienced solo traveler and often coordinate my trips with local guides. My experience with Africa Adventures Safaris was one of the best I've ever had. Nicholas worked with me to develop a trip tailored to exactly what I wanted and the time window that I had- he was excellent to work with and really gave me great advice about what was and was not doable in my timeframe. Amazingly, this level of personal service also ended up being the least expensive but most comprehensive of all of the options I explored for my trip to East Africa.

My guide when I arrived was Sam Elliott. It can sometimes be difficult to be in a car with even the closest of friends for 11 days , but not with Sam- he was the consummate professional, answering all of my questions and engaging in a wide range of discussion topics addressing everything from local customs and commerce the geopolitics, the genocide, and the civil society issues in Burundi and Uganda. Sam also communicated with people in seemingly a dozen languages as we traversed East Africa, and was able to really help me connect with people.

My aggressive itinerary included lots of primate tracking: Lowland Gorillas in Kahuzi-Biega National Park in Congo, Mountain Gorillas and Golden Monkeys (a highlight not to be missed) in Volcanoes National Park in Rwanda, Gorillas in Bwindi Impenetrable park in Uganda, and Chimpanzees in Kibale Forest National Park. Rwanda and Uganda are amazing as advertised. I found Burundi to be very culturally interesting (highlighted by the Gishora Drum Sanctuary) and distinct from Rwanda- worth a day or two to see, but not worth lingering. Similarly, going to Congo was an adventure in itself and the gorilla tracking there is a different experience- much less touristy than in Rwanda. I was a bit nervous about it, but it was relatively (to itself) safe at the time and Nicholas had made excellent arrangements (my guide there was local to Bukavu and was excellent- but I forgot his name).

Most amazingly, not a single thing went wrong on the entire trip. For anybody who has traveled extensively in Africa, you know how unbelievable that is. Africa Adventures Safaris took care of everything and everything went nearly exactly as planned on my itinerary. Given the countries I was in, that is the most amazing thing of all, and a tribute to their preparation, local contacts, and professionalism. As I told Sam when I left, I don't think I could have had as good of an experience in this region without him and without Africa Adventures Safaris. Thank you again!

The family trip of a lifetime
5/5

Thank you Simon from East African Safari and Touring company for your suggestion for our 5 day safari through the Serengetti and Ngorongoro Crater, your communication in the lead up and organization made this a smooth ride. Our safari with our children aged 14 12 and 9 was a fantastic experience we were amazed by the closeness and abundance of wildlife we were able to see and on our final day we witnessed a pride of lioness stalking some zebra whilst 20 or more young lions roamed around our safari vehicle. At nights we were impressed by our campsite which was very well organized and the meals were great, the experiences the children were able to gain by sitting around a campfire freely talking and singing with the local Masai was priceless. Our driver Innocent was great with the knowledge he was able to share with us about the local wildlife there seemed nothing he wasnt able to tell us

Absolutely amazing, lifetime experience
5/5

E-Trip Africa was amazing from the time the first email went out, they communicated instantly back and answered all the questions I had if not more. My expectations were exceeded from the pick up at the airport until the drop off, everyone we came in contact with was exceptional and extremely professional. Their desire for you to succeed was demonstrated in every aspect of the adventure. I would highly recommended them for Kilimanjaro.

Amazing Safari-experience with "it started in Africa"
5/5

In February 2015 we did a 5day safari including Lake Manyara, Serengeti and Ngorongoro. Everything was perfectly organised. Our guide/driver was very friendly and competent/professional. We even saw the "big5" and a lion-hunt!!! The guide always looked for our wishes, e.g. for crocodiles. The car and camping equipment was in a very good condition; our cook made delicious food.

The nature, the mass and diversity of animals in Tanzania are unique and amazing. It was the best we ever experiecend. "It started in Africa" was a perfect partner for our perfect holiday: everything was well organized.

Amazing journey to the wild, with a wonderful team of professionals
5/5

We were in the best hands with Yassin (guide) and Waziri (cook) during our 7-person, 5-day safari. Professional, smart, caring, careful, calm, and fun - they made sure that we had an amazing experience. We saw a part of the world that we could not have imagined, and gained understanding and appreciation that will last a lifetime. We have encouraged many friends already to think about making this once-in-a-lifetime journey.
Communications were excellent during planning. The food was wonderful! Expectations were met and more! It was a "budget" safari, and we expected to "rough it" a bit. In fact, it was less rough than we expected, thanks to the outstanding care provided by Yassin and Waziri.
Our only suggestion for upcoming safari-goers: remember to take a towel and sheet liner.

fantastic honeymoon
5/5

We enjoyed a fantastic camping honeymoon safari with It Started in Africa. We did 5 nights, one in Ngorongoro Crater, 3 in the Serengeti (Central and North) and one in Tarangire.
Our guide Jeremias was amazing and without him we wouldn't have noticed half of the animals we passed by. We even saw a lion killing a wildbeest...
I would not hesitate to recommend them, all was perfect!

Michael is a great negotiator, he knows the value of his assets; Paul (transport), Wilson, (sherpa), Joseph, (mobile chef). My experience was so great that I wrote a book about it, as above. Thanks and best wishes, knowing that when you walk through the valleys the higher ground will meet you in good time.
