An unforgettable safari experience!
5/5

Our group recently completed a multi-day safari through Tarangire, Serengeti, and Ngorongoro, and we couldn’t be happier with the experience. From start to finish, everything was exceptionally well organized, and the level of service exceeded all our expectations.

The entire staff was incredibly friendly, professional, and knowledgeable. A special mention goes to our guide Freddie, who was truly outstanding. His passion, expertise, patience, and ability to spot wildlife made every game drive unforgettable. It is rare to meet someone so dedicated and genuinely committed to making every guest’s experience special. We were lucky to have him as our guide.

We would also like to thank Louis and Felix, who were the guides in the other two jeeps. The whole team made us feel welcome, safe, and cared for throughout the journey.

Another highlight was the food. James, our chef, did an amazing job every single day. Breakfasts, lunches, and dinners were always delicious, plentiful, and surprisingly varied considering we were on safari. He was constantly attentive to everyone’s dietary needs and preferences, making sure every guest was satisfied.

The breathtaking landscapes of Tarangire, Serengeti, and Ngorongoro combined with such an exceptional team created memories that will stay with us forever. We highly recommend this safari to anyone looking for an authentic, comfortable, and perfectly organized adventure in Tanzania.

Thank you, Freddie, Louis, Felix, James, and the entire team for an unforgettable experience! We hope to return one day.

Amazing Experience!
5/5

We had an unforgettable safari experience with Peter Ngigi. We did the 4-day tour from Nairobi, visiting the Masai Mara, Lake Nakuru, and Naivasha. Over the course of the trip, we were lucky enough to see the Big Five, as well as many other animals including leopards, lions, rhinos, buffaloes, zebras, giraffes, and various antelope species. The scenery was stunning throughout and made the experience even more special.

Peter Ngigi was an excellent guide. He was friendly, easy to get along with, and incredibly knowledgeable about both the wildlife and the local area. His knowledge of the roads and parks was remarkable, he seemed to know exactly where to go without needing GPS. He also had an amazing eye for spotting wildlife.

A huge thank you to Peter for making this such a memorable trip. We couldn't have asked for a better guide and would highly recommend him to anyone planning a safari in Kenya.

Great value, run by the owner directly, and the guide Tuma makes the whole trip
5/5

After doing this safari, my honest takeaway is that the real difference between companies comes down to your guide. Once you are inside the Serengeti, almost everyone has the same Land Cruiser, so what shapes your experience is the driver and guide: how professional, knowledgeable, brave, accommodating, and friendly they are, and how good their English is. On that front, my guide Tuma was fantastic. Knowledgeable, easy to talk to, great English, and he went above and beyond every single day to get us close to the animals and into good photo positions. He also understands photography, which mattered a lot to me. Whenever I brought out my zoom lens, he would cut the engine so the vibration would not blur my shots. A real pro. Honestly, about 70% of my recommendation comes down to my experience with Tuma, so if you book with this company, ask for Tuma.

A few words on the company itself, because the structure is part of the value. Kilimanjaro Select is big in Tanzania and in the Chinese market, but they have not pushed into the US market because of the advertising cost here. The upside is real. Prices are fair, and the operation is local, so you talk to the owner directly instead of paying for agencies and flashy marketing. The owner is candid and honest. We were not familiar with local tipping norms, so we just asked him directly, and he gave us a straight answer.

The food deserves its own shout-out. Having a chef with you is a real advantage when you stay in campsites, especially for travelers from Asia. Our chef knew how to cook for an Asian palate, and the meals were consistently excellent. There were several moments where other groups looked over at our table and said our food looked delicious. We watched other groups eating cold sandwiches and bread while we had hot, fresh meals. That difference clearly comes from the company's experience catering to Chinese guests.

The whole thing is essentially full service from the moment you land to the moment you leave. You can also build your own custom itinerary. You tell them what you want, they come back with a new quote, and it is easy. I extended my tour from eight days to nine, and they even gave me a free extra hotel night and dropped me at the airport at the end. They take care of everything in between.

One small wrinkle: I booked a private tour, but the day before the tour started, they told me another traveler would be joining me. The overall experience was good, and they gave me a generous discount, but it wasn't communicated in advance, so it felt a little abrupt at the start.

Overall, this was a great experience from beginning to end. I would happily book with them again on a future trip to Tanzania, because I trust their experience, and the value is hard to beat. Just make sure you get a good guide. If you trust my word, contact Kilimanjaro Select and ask for Tuma. You will have a great time.

Great safari with a very good organisation and great guides
5/5

We had a 7-day trip to Masai Mara, Lake Nakuru and Amboseli! It was really amazing and we saw every animal we wanted to see. We had three quides who were really nice and gave lots of information about the animals. Only the fact that we had to change the group quite often was a bit exhausting. Everything else was great! We were lucky to have some amazing views on the animals, even lionesses with very young cubs! It was absolutely beautiful. Everything was very well organised and we would surely recommend Jocky Tours!

Your perfect choice for Tanzania Safari
5/5

We booked our entire safari from Italy, and the process was incredibly smooth thanks to Boris. He accommodated all of our requests and was always available to assist us. Given the uncertainty of the current global situation and potential flight disruptions, we especially appreciated his support and flexibility in case our flights were affected.

Upon arriving in Arusha, the Akondo team welcomed us and gave us a great introduction to the city. The real adventure began the following day, when David picked us up for an unforgettable 4-day safari through Tarangire, Ngorongoro, and Serengeti National Parks.

David was an exceptional guide. His English was excellent, and his many years of safari experience allowed him to take us to the best wildlife viewing spots. We felt very fortunate to have him leading our journey.

Everything was perfectly organized by the Akondo team. The hotels were comfortable and well-maintained, while the lodges exceeded all expectations—an outstanding selection that made the experience even more special.

We highly recommend Akondo Adventures to anyone planning a safari in Tanzania. Their professionalism, attention to detail, and excellent service made this a truly unforgettable experience.

Our guide, David, was fantastic and took us to see some truly spectacular places. All the lodges where we stayed were beautiful, clean, and comfortable.

Overall, I highly recommend booking with Akondo Adventures because you will have the opportunity to enjoy a unique and unforgettable experience.

Solo Travelling
5/5

Traveling solo to Tanzania was a big decision, but Severah made me feel supported from day one. The team was always available, and the guide became part of the experience. Walking safaris, conversations, quiet moments in nature… it was much more than just seeing animals. It felt like a journey inward as well.

Dan is an experienced and professional host and guide with a friendly and cheerful personality
5/5

Amazing … Dan took us to see everything we had dreamed of seeing - the Ziwa Rhino Sanctuary on the way to view the spectacular falls in Murchison Falls National Park, both from the top of this most powerful cascade and from the White Nile by boat, with hippos, water bucks, buffalo, crocodiles ... He was clearly extremely experienced at seeking out the elephants, giraffes, lions and leopards - an incredible variety of animals, birds, insects and plants. Then on to Queen Elizabeth Park via the Kibale Forest National Park for chimpanzee tracking where we were entertained by a number of unperturbed chimps - a perfectly wonderful experience. The accommodation was delightful - the charming Rwenzori View Guesthouse and impressive Tabingi Safari Lodge, complete with an elephant in the garden ! Everyone was so welcoming and helpful. Thank you Dan, I couldn’t have asked for a more satisfying trip !

Tonny is a very experienced, very knowledgable and very kind guide
5/5

We started at Kilimanjaro Airport where Tonny picked us up with drinks and snacks and we headed towards our Safari which was an incredible experience. We started from Tarangire Nationalpark up to the Serengeti, the Ngorongoro Crater and the Lake Manyara back to Arusha. Thanks to Tonys experience we were able to see the Big 5 ( and a lot lot more animals on our safari) and we didnt only see but learned a lot about all the different animals species thanks to Tonnys knowledge.
The communication with Tonny was perfect as we could express our wishes and he fulfilled them by 120%!
In total i can recommend the tour (especially with Tonny) as you will see all kind of landscapes and animals along the tour and feel the special vibes during the safari.
Thanks for the great organization and the experience!
