Beyond my expectations!
I recently returned from a trip to southern Africa. I went with my 12 year old son. At first I was very nervous considering I was traveling alone with my son. Darren put my thoughts at ease and answered all of my questions patiently. The trip was amazing, we felt very safe and comfortable. Everything was perfectly organized and went very smoothly. Darren was very nice to my son and patiently explained some of the South African history and the places we visited while we were in Cape Town.
I highly recommend this company, this was a trip we surely never will forget.

Helpful, friendly staff, but check the details
Chose these guys from many as they were very accommodating during planning stage, although we were disappointed in the alternative Masai Mara accommodation chosen once our choices were unavailable. Joseph and Ronnie are both knowledgeable and diligent guides: we were pleased they drove carefully and well, spotted animals at great distances, and were regularly sharing information with, and helping, other guides. Communication on key points like where our flight would leave from and the need to pay baggage fees for all bags was poor or even misleading, but asking for copies of the plane tickets would have let us check ourselves. Felt like everything was under control and we were supported throughout. Recommended.

Amazing service, caring staff from start to finish!
From booking to the completion of our safari, everything was handled. The staff was knowledgeable and shared with us about the location and history. From day 1 we were picked up expediently and our safari began. The staff handled all accommodations and tours. The accommodations were breathtaking and worth every second. They presented every animal imaginable and provided numerous stops to enjoy the local culture. I will absolutely and recommend to anyone to book with Mama Savana Safaris. There is no company better to provide the level of service expected!
Devestating
I had no time and John and his guide, Frederic, found a way to get me to see the Mara river and the Wildebeast migration anyway, for a very reasonable cost despite all odds. I am very grateful and cannot recommend them more earnestly. Just honestly tell them your situation, and he can optimize it.
Holiday of a Lifetime
We thoroughly enjoyed our holiday, and it lived up to all our expectations. This was some feat considering that we were a family of four - with 2 mature daughter - each of whom had different interests and needs. All these were satisfied by the holidays, which included different types of accommodation and experiences.

Fantastic operator and perfect organisation.
I don't normally write reviews but feel that I must after just returning from a trip to the Mara, Amboseli and Zanzibar with my family courtesy of Kennedy at Doyen Safaris. I had an idea of where I wanted to go and where I wanted to stay but with Kennedy's contacts and suggestions he came up with the perfect itinerary at a very good price compared to other operators I had contacted. He even looked after us during our brief time in Nairobi and with his driver Joseph, acted as a tour guide of his wonderful city ! Nothing was too much trouble and all the questions I had for him before the trip began were answered very promptly (even surprise flight changes!).
I must admit I had reservations about booking a whole trip through a local operator, but with Doyen I did not need to worry, and in fact it proves that it is actually better to go with someone with local knowledge.
