I am not sure where to begin describing my short trip to Rwanda to experience Kigali, learn more about the genocide and trek to the mountain gorillas and golden monkeys. This tour company is the one you want to book with! They use Rwandan tour guides who know the country, its history and all things Rwandan. Rando Charifu was my tour guide. I have been solo touring for years now and this rates as one of the best experiences I have ever had. Sitting in the front seat, running conversations about a myriad topics - Rando was outstanding.
A woman you say, travelling solo in an SUV with almost 30 year old male? I would do it again and highly recommend it! I could see (no sitting in the back seat) and he took care of all the details. Frank owns this tour company and I had the honour of meeting him the day I left. We had a great conversation about so many things. His communication during the year of planning, notes on what to pack were well timed, written and clear. The lodgings, the tours, the food, the people - so memorable! Coffee tasting (like wine tasting), a single mothers' non-profit art council, the rolling hills, the great food choices.
If you want ROI for your Rwandan adventure - GRS should be your choice of companies. The safety in this country is top notch, and I have been to many African countries. It has everything you want in an African adventure with safaris for the Big 5, gorillas, monkeys and more.
I learned more about the genocide and its atrocities. What it did though, and I spoke to a number of Rwandans, is made Rwanda what it is today - a vibrant tourist site with so much to offer.
So many choices in tour companies, so many decisions to make. Do your research but I stake my reputation on this outstanding company.

From planning to execution, Beyond the Plains' performance on our Kenya safari was exceptional!
Two of us recently took a private five-day photo safari with Beyond the Plains Safaris, beginning in Nairobi and including Amboselli and the Masai Mara. For one of us it was a first ever safari and a dream since the age of six. For the other, it was the third African safari and the second in Amboselli and the Masai Mara. The punchline is that both of us were completely awestruck by this latest experience. The planning of this event was handled at Beyond the Plains with great care and very responsive service by Julius. Our guides were excellent, especially Ben. He worked extremely hard to ensure that we saw as many animals as were available at this time of year, including cheetah and leopard, both which had eluded us on prior safaris. Ben’s service was superb and his extra efforts were very impressive, including arranging for a romantic poolside birthday dinner by collaborating with the camp staff. On top of being a great guide, he has a terrific sense of humor and a winning personality. The facilities, meals, and staffs at both Zebra Plains “camps” we stayed at were excellent. One of the biggest highlights of our safari was the hot air balloon ride we took, which I would highly recommend. It was a very memorable experience that we would love to repeat.
I have recommended Beyond the Plains several times in the three weeks since our safari and will continue to do so. There are plenty of companies that can provide a good safari experience, but Beyond the Plains proved to be the best from my research before the safari and more than lived up to my expectations in reality.

An Unforgettable First Tanzania Safari
We had an incredible safari experience in Tanzania from start to finish. The itinerary was well organized, the lodges were excellent, and every day brought something memorable, from the landscapes and the Great Migration to the overall atmosphere of the trip. Everything ran smoothly end to end, which allowed us to relax and fully enjoy the experience.
A very special thank you goes to our guide, Julius, who played a HUGE role in making the safari so enjoyable. He was very knowledgeable, patient, friendly, and always found the best wildlife sightings. His experience and passion for wildlife made every game drive both exciting and informative, and we felt very well looked after throughout the journey.
We would also like to thank Aishwarya, our main point of contact at the agency. She was very responsive, helpful, and made the planning process easy from the very beginning. Her communication and attention to detail gave us confidence before and during the trip. We would 100% happily recommend both the agency to anyone planning a safari in Tanzania!

Trip of a lifetime!
We chose Mountain Warriors for our honeymoon safari, and it was truly an unforgettable experience. Ruth was amazing from the beginning, she made the booking process seamless and even came to our hotel the day before we left to walk us through the itinerary and make sure we were fully prepared. Carlos was also wonderful, providing a friendly airport transfer that ended our trip perfectly.
Our guide John was the highlight of the safari. He is funny, an incredible driver, and extremely knowledgeable about the animals, parks, and Tanzania’s culture and history. Beyond his expertise, he became a friend during our time together. We loved sharing stories, learning about his life and family, and talking about our own. Since you spend so much time with your guide, that personal connection makes such a difference. John also has great relationships with other guides, which helped when tracking down certain animals since guides often share sightings and tips.
Also the lodges were amazing and the value for money was insane. We compared our trip with friends who spent double and we had nicer accomodations and better food! We couldn’t recommend Mountain Warriors more highly!

Great trip
We had an amazing time with crimson brook safaris. The owners took time to meet with us. This was a nice personal touch. Our driver and guide was great through out the trip. We felt safe and in good care the entire time.

Pascal took great care of us and answered our many questions so quickly! Sometimes at all hours of the day and night. We were very pleased with his high level of service and had no issues with any of the details he set up - game lodge, transfers, flight reservations.
