We travelled from our hotel in the South of Zanzibar to Mikumi National Park on a 1day safari. We were collected from our hotel, taken to the domestic airport terminal in a luxury vehicle and flew in a small propeller aircraft (14seater) directly into the National Park landing on the dirt airstrip, the flight itself was incredibly exciting. As we approached Mikumi airport we spotted giraffes and elephants from the sky!! We landed and were immediately introduced to our driver and guide Frank. What a top notch guide. He knew where to go and what we wanted to see. We saw Lions, elephants, giraffe, hippos, zebra, antelope, birds galore!! Lunch was very good and just being in that environment was so incredible. Our experience with Uwanda Tours and Safaris was superb, don’t panic if they don’t contact you until the day before you are going on your safari, they will!!

He took his time to point things out for us along way from Johannesburg to Tembo Guest Lodge. Unforgettable solo adventure in Northern Ethiopia with Essence Ethiopia Tours
I booked a 10-day tour as a female solo traveler with Essence Ethiopia Tours and it was probably one of the best trips in my life. Tsehaynew, in the lead on organizing the logistics of my all-inclusive trip, and based in Addis, was very responsive since the first contact and ensured extremely smooth coordination. In the preparatory phases, he accommodated all my preferences in terms of itinerary and later, he remained flexible and attentive in order to adjust the trip, even along the way, to offer the best experience. Starting from Addis, my itinerary included Lalibela, Gondar, the Simien Mountains National Park, Bahir Dar, the Danakil Depression and Axum. In each location, a dedicated driver and guides were waiting for me, and I had guided tours every day of my trip, which contributed enormously to my understanding of the places I was visiting. All of the staff I met on my way, coordinated by Tsehaynew, were extremely cordial. In terms of safety/security, the Gondar-Bahir Dar area axis demands caution due to the prevalence of anti-government militias. I would recommend minimizing road transfers as much as possible, while rather reaching the various destinations by plane to ensure a safe experience. The domestic flight network is indeed very well organized, flights are very short (1 hour at most), and with the help of Essence Ethiopia Tours, the airport pickup/drop-off and check in formalities go really fast and smooth. Overall, I would really recommend this tour operator. Tsehaynew went above and beyond to make this an unforgettable experience, and he has a great sense of hospitality and client orientation. I left Ethiopia knowing that I will return sometime, and I will definitely reach out to Essence Ethiopia Tours again.

We had the trip of a lifetime with African Hagyko Safaris. From my very first communication with the company, I was incredibly impressed. Bernard’s professionalism, prompt replies, and genuinely courteous support were far above and beyond any other safari company I had compared. He answered every question with care and made the entire planning process feel seamless and trustworthy.
Once on safari, our guide Harrison made the experience unforgettable. With 30 years of experience, his knowledge of the wildlife, landscape, and animal behavior was extraordinary. He made sure we left not only with amazing pictures, but with a real education and appreciation for everything we were seeing. Harrison is also just a lovely human being. During one part of the trip, after heavy rains, he took the time to help a junior guide get his safari jeep unstuck from a creek — which spoke volumes about his kindness, humility, and character.
Everything about this experience was 5-star. We are so grateful, and we will absolutely book with African Hagyko Safaris again. Highly, highly recommended.

Wonderful honeymoon safari experience with knowledgeable guide!
African Polecat handled everything as detailed in the itinerary without any issues at all. Our guide, Francis, is very knowledgeable about the wildlife and could spot even smaller animals from very far away even while navigating the rough terrain of the parks. He is also a very careful driver and even helped someone broken down pretty quickly on the way to the Serengeti. We did have a breakdown that couldn’t be fixed without help from the local mobile mechanics, but that whole process only took maybe a couple hours which was impressive because we were out in the middle of the park when it happened (for the record, vehicle breakdowns were an extremely common thing so I do not fault Francis/African Polecat for this and only include this to show that they are ready to handle unforeseen problems). Overall, I would recommend African Polecat and hope to travel with them again in the future on another safari in the future!
