Planning our first safari trip was overwhelming at first but we are so grateful to have found Tales of Tanzania and specifically Pendo. She was knowledgeable, extremely responsive and detailed oriented. We felt at ease with her planning every detail and going above and beyond to make our honeymoon dream trip exceptional. She worked with our budget, was flexible to make updates for our must haves and things that we definitely wanted to see and we were even able to upgrade our lodging to make our trip even more special. We started or trip with a guided day hike in Kilimanjaro and our guide, Bryceson was friendly and ensured we were comfortable with the pace while still being able to complete the hike. We felt so accomplished to complete the hike to Mandara hut! We then went on to our Serengeti and Ngorongoro Crater multi-days safari and from the first day when we met our private guide Terry, we were blown away with his knowledge and expertise. We were very comfortable with the vehicle which we had all to ourselves and especially to get his undivided attention. We ended our first day with a Mara River crossing and couldn’t believe that we were able to catch this spectacular experience all thanks to Terry. We couldn’t imagine how it could get better but everyday was another amazing day! To end our trip we got to quickly meet with Pendo, the woman who patiently worked with us to plan our dream trip and she surprised us with souvenirs as a gift for our honeymoon and a small piece of Tanzania to take with us. Overall we highly recommend Tales of Tanzania as we feel that the communication, service, value for money, reliability and the tour itself was truly better than anything we could’ve wished for. Wish all companies can be like this.

Everything awesome from start to end
Our experience with Bavuma Wild Quest was excellent from start to finish. Communication was great which gave us great confidence before the trip began. Joshua also accomodated our scheduled based on our feedback and needs.
The service was amazing — our guides were knowledgeable and friendly, and the tour was unforgettable, we saw more than what we expected. Great value for money too, acommodations were better than the photos!

A Once-in-a-Lifetime Trip We're Already Planning to Repeat
I put off writing this review for a while, mostly because I wasn't sure I could do Compass Odyssey justice. Our family of four had our South Africa holiday organised by them, and it's hard to put into words how much of a difference that made.
From the start, they were extraordinarily helpful in guiding us through every decision, especially the safari. There are so many options, and left to our own devices we would never have landed on the one they proposed for us. It turned out to be a perfect match, tailored to exactly what our family wanted without us even fully knowing how to ask for it.
What stood out most was how they made us feel like their only client. Planning a trip like this comes with real pressure, dozens of moving parts, logistics across a foreign country, matching everyone's interests, but Compass Odyssey carried all of that so we didn't have to.
Once we were in Cape Town, our guides Tim and Garth were exceptional. Their knowledge added a whole extra layer to the trip, the kind of detail and context you simply don't get without the right people showing you around.
Behind the scenes, Darren at Odyssey was incredibly responsive throughout, which matters more than you'd think when you're travelling somewhere as far-flung as Africa. Any question, any last-minute concern, he was on it.
My husband and I went into this thinking it would be our "once in a lifetime" trip. We were wrong. We're already planning to go back, and when we do, it will be with Compass Odyssey.

Couldn’t have asked for more!
I got in touch with John from Serengeti Wildlife Safaris as we had a smaller budget and what we were after was quite specific. John was amazing and worked back and forth with me to curate our perfect Tanzania safari. John greeted us himself personally at the airport and treated us to lunch on our first day when we were hungry from travel. The nights we were booked for lodges they were extremely clean and comfortable with hot water and great amenities. The nights we spent in tented camps were budget options but again very clean and comfortable. The food on safari was a highlight and our chef travelled with us throughout. Our safari car was clean and well maintained. The guides throughout the tour were excellent- very knowledgeable, excellent drivers and just made everything so enjoyable! Special shoutout to Eric who seemed to get us in the perfect spot for photos and sightings every time! We spotted the Big 5 along with many other amazing animals.
We couldn’t believe the value for money when it was all over. Absolutely the experience of a lifetime and I would highly recommend John and his team!

Serengeti: endless, breathtaking savannahs and an incredible concentration of wildlife.
Ngorongoro: the crater looks like a secluded, lost world with fantastic landscapes and a hub of life at the caldera floor.
The service in the tent camps was a pleasant surprise. The food was not only filling, but truly delicious and varied: fresh fruit, hot lunches right in the savannah (picnics with excellent service), and for dinner, gourmet dishes and local flavors. Any food preferences were taken into account, and cold water and drinks were always on hand in the vehicles.
In addition to the safari drives, the program included excellent leisure activities. We visited an authentic Maasai village, where we learned about their traditions, dances, and everyday life.

Great Safari Experience from Start to Finish
We booked our safari with Daniel, and communication was smooth from the beginning. He tailored the itinerary to our needs and wishes, and we visited Lake Naivasha, Lake Nakuru, and the Masai Mara. The lodges and hotels recommended by Daniel were all great and definitely contributed to making the overall experience even better.
We had an amazing safari experience with Francis, who made our trip even more enjoyable. He was very knowledgeable and shared lots of interesting information about life in Kenya, local customs, and wildlife. He was also very knowledgeable about the animals and their behaviour. While we were in the parks, he often anticipated their movements and knew where to position the vehicle to give us the best possible view. He always made sure we had a great angle to watch the animals and take good photos, which made the game drives even more special. Thanks to him, we were also lucky enough to see all of the Big Five!
Francis was punctual every single day and always arrived at the agreed time. One detail that really stood out to us was how clean he kept the car, especially considering how dusty it gets after the game drives.
Overall, we had a fantastic experience and would definitely recommend Leopard Orchid Safaris to anyone planning a safari in Kenya!
