An 8‑day‑7‑night African savanna safari has finally come to a perfect close.
Our luck on this Tanzanian journey far exceeded all expectations 🌍.
We finally checked off the Big Five 🦁🐘🦏🐆🐃:
Lion, African Elephant, Cape Buffalo, Black‑and‑White Rhinoceros, and Leopard.
These were not scenes from documentaries or photo albums.
We met them one by one, up close and gently, amid the vast, wild Serengeti plains.
The biggest highlight of this trip was witnessing two river crossings of the Great Migration 🦓.
Standing along the Mara River, we watched millions of wildebeest surge across the water.
Dust billowed as thousands of beasts thundered forward.
It was magnificent, breathtaking, yet also a raw display of nature’s unforgiving vitality.
Life, death, migration, reproduction, endless cycles of renewal.
In this moment, I truly understood: Africa is a living wild epic.
How well you photograph wildlife and how many rare animals you spot on safari depends partly on luck, and partly on an outstanding guide.

With over twenty years of on‑the‑ground experience in the Serengeti, he knows every herd’s movement patterns and every animal’s habits across the entire savanna.
Drawing on his sharp observational skills and real‑time radio coordination, he captured fleeting wild moments for us.
He led us to rare sightings many travellers never get to see:
a leopard hiding in thick brush, a pride of lions feasting on a zebra, ostriches performing their courtship dances, and massive‑scale river crossings…

We had an amazing safari experience with Savanna Sojourns Safari. We were lucky enough to see both the Big Five and the Ugly Five, which made the trip absolutely unforgettable. Our driver and guide, Steve, was fantastic; truly the best! He was extremely professional, knowledgeable and fully committed throughout the whole safari. He made a huge effort to find the animals, drove us all around the reserve and was always very attentive and focused on giving us the best possible experience. He was also very funny and made the whole safari even more enjoyable. We had such a great time with him, and his good energy made every moment special. You could really see how dedicated he was to his job and how much he cared about making the safari unforgettable for us. Highly recommended, and a very special thank you to Steve!

We had a wonderful safari experience with Savanna Sojourns. We managed to see the Big Five and also the Ugly Five, which was incredible! Steve, our driver and guide, was excellent. He was very professional, friendly and always made a big effort to find the animals and take us to the best spots. He knows the reserve very well and was constantly looking for ways to make the experience better for us. He is also very funny, which made the long drives and the whole safari much more enjoyable. Fantastic safari from start to finish. We were extremely lucky and saw both the Big Five and the Ugly Five during our trip. A special mention has to go to Steve, our driver. He worked incredibly hard throughout the safari, driving us all over the reserve and always trying to find the best sightings. He was professional, attentive and clearly very experienced. What made it even better was his personality; Steve is great fun and kept us laughing during the trip. He was always involved, motivated and focused on making sure we had the best possible safari experience. Highly recommended. Steve is definitely one of the best guides you could ask for.
