Punctual, reliable, and a great safari experience
We had a great experience with Shian Tours & Travel. They were punctual and kept to the agreed schedule, which we really appreciated. The tour was enjoyable overall, and we were very happy with the experience. It was a memorable trip, and we would recommend them to anyone planning a safari in Kenya!

Amazing Team and Safari !
This tour was fantastic for us, beginning with the excellent communication with Rodgers via Whatsapp to organize and continuing with Nelson, our really knowledgeable and compassionate guide. With him, we saw the Big Five as well as a variety of other creatures, including lions in action. Jambo Mara Lodge was lovely, the accommodations were clean and comfy, and we had a great time on this safari. I suggest Roju Safari Updates Team!

Incredible safari
I did a 4-day safari with Pascal and it was simply wonderful, extraordinary! I managed to see all of the Big Five, which is definitely not a given—he searched and searched until he found them all. Spectacular landscapes, super delicious food, and an unforgettable holiday! Wonderful!

Big Five on day two, a Mara balloon ride, a surprise upgrade and two fantastic guides
From our first enquiry, Shanjoy’s communication was excellent. Rodah and Beth responded almost instantly, answered every question and accommodated all of my suggestions. My wife and I customized both the itinerary and the accommodations, and they happily reworked the plan to suit us, swapping a long drive for a lake day with a boat trip at Naivasha. They also sent clear visa, insurance and border guidance well before we left, and Beth and the team kept checking in on us throughout the trip to make sure everything was going well. The Kenya to Tanzania handover at the Isibania border was smooth. My wife and I cleared customs, switched vehicles and met our new guide with no hassle.
We booked in early May for a mid-June trip, which was fairly last minute for peak season. One of the lodges didn’t honor our reservation, but Shanjoy handled it well. They kept us informed and offered a lodge in the same or a better category. In the Masai Mara they went further and upgraded my wife and me to Mara Plains Camp, with a better room and a tent right next to the river with a fantastic view. It was one of our favorites of the whole trip.
The wildlife was incredible. My wife and I saw the Big Five on our second day, and we had an unforgettable hot-air balloon safari followed by champagne and a bush breakfast.
One of the biggest highlights was our guide in Kenya, Steve. His knowledge, dedication and genuine passion for wildlife made an enormous difference. Spotting animals on safari is one thing, but having a guide who knows where to find them and goes the extra mile to get you the best possible view is something special. Thanks to him, my wife and I saw rhinos multiple times, and his dedication to finding the animals you want to see is amazing. We usually started our game drives early in the morning, with lunch packed by the lodge, and stayed in the park until sunset. My only regret is that we didn’t spend more time enjoying the beautiful lodges and camps, so if you can, plan a little downtime.
Hasan, our guide in Tanzania, was just as good. He knew the Serengeti and Ngorongoro Crater very well, brought plenty of energy, and listened closely to what we wanted to see. When my wife and I wanted to see the migration, he worked out where the herds were and drove us there, even though it was about three hours away. That kind of effort is what made the experience unforgettable.
Thank you to the entire Shanjoy team, and especially Steve and Hasan, for an incredible experience! My wife and I came away with amazing memories, wonderful photographs and a greater appreciation for the beauty of Africa. This safari exceeded our expectations, and we would absolutely recommend it!

Wonderful trip with Kojuu!
When we first started to plan for our safari trip, the amount of available choices was quite overwhelming. I wanted to find a locally owned tour operator and not a booking agency that subcontracts the actual tour to a different company. With Kojuu, we found exactly what we were looking for.
Prior to contacting Kojuu, I had done a fair bit of research on the possible itinerary and the types of places we would potentially like to stay at. After sending an email to inquire, I heard back from Losim who was tour consultant and handle all the planning and communication before the trip. I provided him with my ideas and he was extremely helpful in providing his own feedback, making some suggestions as well as pricing out the various options. Losim also arranged a video call with us to truly understand what we were looking for in this trip and ensure our expectations were met with our planned intinerary. This allowed us to design the perfect 10 day tour with them for September 2026.
As part of my research process, I also had reached out two two other tour operators about similar intineraries and it was clear that Kojuu offered the best value as well as had the best communication during this process.
Prior to our trip, we had some unpexcted changes to our international flights which required some minor modifications to our intinerary. Losim was extremely responsive in helping us make these changes. In addition to this, during our inbound flight, there was a delay meaning we would arrive in Kilimanjaro later than expected and we easily coordinated via whatsapp to ensure Kojuu was aware of our new arrival time. Once in Arusha, Losim met with us to go over the itinarary once more, answer any questions we had and ensure we were ready to enjoy our trip. Big thanks to him as he also checked in with us during our trip to ensure everything was going smoothly!
We were picked up by our guide Patrick who was simply outstanding. Extremely knowledgable, professional and just a fun man to be with during our trip. He used his experience and instincts to allow us to find all kinds of amazing moments. We of course saw all of the big 5, as well as the great migration crossing the mara river. In addition to these highlights, Patrick was also excellent in finding great moments, often with no other vehicles around us. We saw a new born baby elephant just a couple weeks old learning to navigate the terrain of the Serengeti, a large pride of lions resting in the morning under the rising sun, And so much more. Patrick shared with us his extensive knowledge about the animals, the birds, the local environment which helped us futher appreciate everything we were seeing. He also is a funny guy with a great sense of humor!
We had just a wonderul trip and we would highly recommend Kojuu who took great care of us from start to finish.

Great safari experience thanks to Victor!
Overall, we had a wonderful safari and are very happy with our trip. We are giving 5 stars primarily because of our driver and guide, Victor, who we highly recommend. He is knowledgeable, charismatic, and very engaging, and we truly loved spending time with him! He shared a lot of valuable information throughout the trip, always drove safely, and even helped us resolve an issue with our accommodation reservation. He really did everything possible to ensure we had a great experience, showing us all the animals with a fantastic attitude every day. Also, the lunches provided throughout the safari were always delicious!
A quick note regarding pre-trip organization for future travelers:
- Pre-trip Communication: After paying the deposit, office communication became quite sparse. We felt there was a lack of interest in tailoring specific requests— such as finding an authentic Maasai Boma that wasn't just a tourist trap.
- Final Details: A few days before departure, we still hadn't received details about the pickup schedule or final payment procedures, which caused unnecessary stress.
Lodge Locations: Ideally, route optimization is something you would expect the agency to manage seamlessly, but it is worth double-checking the location of your assigned lodges against the itinerary to avoid unnecessary extra driving time.
Despite these initial planning hurdles, the safari itself was fantastic once we were on the road, mainly thanks to Victor. We definitely recommend the experience!
