We had two guides during our safari. Our first guide was very young, but already had an impressive knowledge of the local area, wildlife, and biology. Thanks to his expertise, we were lucky enough to witness the Great Migration river crossing five times and see all of the Big Five in a single day — an absolutely unforgettable experience!

Best Tanzanian tour company - Do not go with anyone else
Pros: Amazing booking experience, very responsive on WhatsApp and email, able to accommodate all our requests for changes and minor adjustments, very reasonable with deposit payments considering our booking inquiries started a full 13 months before the actual travel, recommended a very nice storybook-gardens-hotel for Arusha, that I would never have found myself, all staff (From Mr. Letson who arranged our travel to all the drivers) were very knowledgeable, courteous and going out of their way to help, the agency even kept our big luggage for a full 6 days until we got back from the bush plane trip doing the safari
Cons: Absolutely nothing
I highly recommend using Ozon Light for anyone wanting to experience Mt Kilimanjaro, Serengeti or the white sand beaches of Zanzibar, or all 3 of them like we did - do not waste your money going with western big name tour companies. You will never get the flexibility and local knowledge
One more tip: Go to Serengeti in the bush plane (Sit on the left side) which flies over the Ol Doinyo Lengai volcano and return by safari jeep !!

Safari with Wild Sage with my 5-year old son. We camped one night in Akagera with morning game drive, evening lakeside drinks and afternoon savannah picnic. The guide was thoughtful and professional and knew the little interesting stories and facts about each and every animal. Drinks and a fire at sunset and lots of animals around us made this trip truly special! Unforgettable.

The tour was great we got to see all the animals we wanted to see, we don’t think we were lucky but rather our tour guide was very diligent in finding the animals for us. The communication with the team was also very straightforward no confusion at all so we had a great time!

Communication was always very prompt whilst enquiring about our Safari.
Everything was sorted for us and e-mailed across.
The only thing I would suggest is that flight information is sent over before going over to do the safari as we couldn’t get onto WiFi to get the booking confirmation. But Ruth sorted this for us.
Our tour guide Michael was absolutely fantastic, he was extremely knowledgeable and very friendly always making sure we got the best out of our time and made sure we were okay at every stage of the 3 days. We highly recommend asking for Michael for your Safari.
We stayed at the Warrior Lodge and also Karatu Safari Lodge. And we couldn’t fault either of them. Our favourite being the Warrior Lodge as from the moment we stepped out of the truck we weren’t allowed to lift a finger. It was a very personal touch and they made us feel extra special. So much so after our stay there my Partner proposed to me.

Some trips are lovely, while others stay with you forever.
Our family safari definitely falls into the latter category.
Even before the trip began, Alano put us at ease with his incredibly friendly and personal approach. He explained everything in detail, told us exactly what we needed, and was truly available at any time. We never felt like a burden, even when we had minor questions or issues.
We were warmly welcomed the moment we arrived at the airport. That’s where we met our guide, Captain James—and what can we say? We couldn’t have asked for anyone better.
James was incredibly warm, funny, and patient. He spoke excellent German and not only introduced us to the fascinating world of wildlife but also shared many stories from his own life.
Our cook was a wonderful addition to the team, too. He was always friendly and cheerful, with a smile constantly on his face. He worked with us to get everything ready and spoiled us with truly delicious food. It was these small, shared moments that made the trip so special.
And then, of course, there were the animals: we experienced moments we will likely never forget. Seeing a leopard, lions, baby elephants, and so many other animals up close was simply incredible.

Everything went smoothly once we arrived, too. We were picked up right at the airport and given a very warm welcome.
And then there was Captain James!
This man is simply amazing. He speaks excellent German, is incredibly funny and personable, and made us feel like we were traveling with a friend throughout the entire safari.
His "eagle eye" was truly incredible. Time and again, he would look somewhere and say, "There's a leopard up ahead"—and at first, we couldn't see a thing. But then, suddenly, there it was!
Our cook also contributed greatly to the wonderful atmosphere. He was always friendly, always had a smile on his face, and worked with us to get everything ready. And the food was delicious! After a long day on safari, we always looked forward to our meals together.
We saw so many fantastic animals: lions, a leopard, baby elephants, a jackal, and much more. James always took his time and never gave the impression that he was in a rush to move on.
We would go on this safari again in a heartbeat and would definitely want Captain James as our guide. For us, he was the perfect guide, and this trip was one of the most wonderful experiences we’ve shared as a family.

we are so lucky to have Roger being our guide for this safari.
