The reason we selected Simbaland was their strong communication, anchored by their point person Maria. As soon as I submitted the bid on Safari Bookings she responded. She quickly prepared quotes and adjusted our itinerary until we had mapped out the perfect safari for us. She was helpful on accommodating our special travel arrangements due to time. As an experienced African traveler, I know things can always go wrong so wanted a company that was responsive. On our trip, the logistics flowed smoothly. We had no issues with the transport. The lodging selections in the Serengeti and Ngorongoro were incredible; beautiful venues and friendly staff. Due to the time of year, we were during the Great Migration so the animal viewing was almost overwhelming. We were able to see the Big 5. My only advice would be if possible to not fit Serengeti and Ngorongoro into a 3 day/2 night block. We had no choice and do not regret it as the sights were incredible, but it was a lot of driving from Arusha. If you have specific interests such as birding or photography, make sure to communicate those to Maria so she can assist with the best guide for your interests. Overall the value was quite good, competitively priced for the bracket, the lodging was excellent, and Maria continued to anchor a supportive staff.

Sitting at home during a blizzard in Massachusetts today cozy with the wonderful memories of our safari in late January 2026. I was so excited for the trip but the reality exceeded my dreams and expectations. It was important to me to book with a local safari company for their benefit, and to avail of their knowledge and expertise. After lots of research and emails with several companies I found on Safaribookings.com, I chose African Big Cats Safaris for their professionalism and flexibility. Together we curated an itinerary that exactly matched our budget, accommodation wishes and wildlife goals. However, the key to the most rewarding safari is the guide, and ABCS did not disappoint when they assigned Obedi to us. He was fun, professional, kind, knowledgeable, and an excellent driver who was determined that we would have the best possible safari experience, with great memories to recount. It was a wonderful trip!

Amazing in every way!
This truly was a trip of a lifetime thanks to the care and attention to detail of Tapestry of Africa. From our initial outreach to Matt, one of the co-founders, to the day-by-day interaction with Hilda, Albert's (the other co-founder) warm welcome and wonderful send-off we couldn't have asked for anything more! We had two guides -- one for Kenya (Joe) and one for Tanzania (Josphat) really made this a special experience. They were extremely knowledgeable and able to spot the best animals a mile away! Thanks to their eagle eyes we didn't miss a thing! We even saw two leopards and the elusive black rhino. All of our accommodations were excellent, but the Breezes Resort in Zanzibar was a special treat and the perfect way to end our safari. Other highlights of our trip (I was with my sister) were: the Sheldrick Elephant Orphanage, a hot air balloon ride at dawn, and a visit to a spice farm and Stone Town in Zanzibar, including an al fresco lunch of authentic Swahili food. Matt and Hilda were especially helpful in tailoring our trip to accommodate all our specific requests and helping with several last minute changes that we requested. My sister and I would recommend Tapestry of Africa without any hesitation to anyone who wants to go on Safari. Be sure to stay at Mbali Mbali Camp, my personal favorite!

My guide had high quality binoculars on the trip for me to use, and whenever needed, he would find a way to be as close to the animals as possible. He communicated well about tour timings, and kept everything on schedule. Would recommend booking with Iyana, and if you get Samson as your driver-guide, you should know you're in good hands!

Our six-day safari was truly unforgettable. From the very start, communicating with Johnson was great—both the price and his response speed were excellent. Our guide Festo was professional, patient, punctual, and extremely capable at solving problems. He knew every animal species and answered all our questions, helping us spot the Big Five. He kept saying we were lucky, and we really felt that way.
Every day, Johnson checked in on us and cared a lot. I could feel their sincerity and attention to detail. The accommodation in Serengeti was perfect for Chinese travelers—if we hadn’t been in a hurry, I would have loved to stay longer.
