Best trip ever!!!!
5/5

What an amazing trip! We first met our guide, Anicet Philip, at the Dallas Travel and Adventure show. We knew exactly who would be taking us on our safari. Communication with him was excellent from the beginning which made the booking process smooth sailing. Once we got there everything was just as Anicet had described. He was such a wonderful guide...full of knowledge! We traveled with 3 small children ages 5, 8, and 10, and Anicet was fantastic with them. He explained everything to the kids and even taught us all some Swahili. He was extremely accommodating of our desires. He was so great at putting us right on top of all the animals. We saw them all! He even surprised us one day with a lunch in the bush with a private chef and everything. We had no idea that was going to happen! I cannot praise Anicet enough. Not only is he a wonderful guide, but he's become a friend to us. Everything was perfect on our trip, and if we ever went back we would definitely use him again.

The Grassroots Safari team combines the unique values of a) understanding a visitors preferences/references and b) ability to translate this leveraging their local knowledge and connections - setting up every trip for success! We saw the big five within 36 hours :) thanks Grasstoot Safari team!

Elephant Coast from a different perspective
5/5

In the summer of 2013, we had a wonderful holiday! Thanks to “Safari op maat” we experienced the real South-African feeling and we were sure that we would return to this amazing country.
At that time, we had not thought that our next holiday to South-Africa would take place immediately next year but it did. We met each other again on the holiday fair in Utrecht and we decided to visit “the elephant coast” once more but then from a different perspective. .
A guided travel plan was organized, which took 5 days longer compared to our previous visit. At our request, we visited Tembe Elephant Park and St Lucia again. The rest of the destinations were new for us.
During the first week we traveled through “the Dragon Mountains” where we stayed at different locations in the area. The accommodations were truly fantastic and the views breathtaking. The area was great to take beautiful walks and if you’re less mobile you also could enjoy the amazing views from camp.
After “the Dragon Mountains”, we travelled to national parks with many wild animals and few tourists. There we were able to experience the African feeling by going on safari by foot and tracking rhino’s. In between the different national parks, we enjoyed a couple of days in Sint Lucia. The accommodations chosen by “Safari op maat” varied from good to very good and the visited wild life parks were astonishing. As during our first holiday, the guide did everything to give us a memorable experience and he did it again!
Thank you again for this wonderfull and memorable holiday.

An epical journey
5/5

My adorable twin gals wanted a great Christmas treat, the time was fast flying and their mother could not be given an off day, it is not in the nature of her work. We only had three days left to Christmas and at the same time we had do the booking before all the available spaces at the great Samburu Sopa were taken. We trusted in Bigmac Africa Safaris, they did not let us down. Everything was meticulously arranged, the roadtrip, the scenic view of the countryside on our way to samburu, taking selfies with my daughter at the Equator was a great experience to my gals, the sight of Mt Kenya was great. At the park, was the great experience, the birds, the lion, the giraffe, the leopard with its catch atop a tree...wow

This year BMAS will be flying us to the Seychelles, we are not changing our tour provider any time soon after all that great experience!

great safari and city tours
4/5

I felt very well taken care of and had a great time on safari. Some problems with car and traffic but that is not the operators fault. They went above and beyond in making sure I was comfortable and safe; and since I was a woman traveling alone that was very important. Great guides, funny, informed and open.

Personalized tour with excellent guide, informative, welcoming and experienced.
5/5

We planned a 12 day safari and were extremely pleased with the services Savannah Tours provided. They were there to pick us up at the airport and stayed with us every step of the way until we headed back on to our flight for home. Our tour consisted off visits to Tarangire Park, Lake Manyara, Ngorongoro Crater, Serengeti and Lake Eyasi before heading over to Zanzibar and Stone town. The lodgings they recommended met or exceeded our expectations, and the pace of the tour with some lodges between our tented camps worked out very well. The staff at the camps were very attentive and helpful (we always felt safe even with elephants in the back yard), the food was excellent and the beds comfortable. Our photo safari was wonderful, we saw the big five plus so very much more. Our guide, Omari, seemed to have inside information about when that rhino would be in the neighborhood and when to wait and give the lions time to get up from their nap and hunt. How he could drive on those bumpy roads and still spot the animals is amazing (and shows how having an experienced guide makes all the difference). He had a bird book handy so was able to identify every bird our group spotted and was willing to stop for all of them. And when we excitedly pointed out "sightings", which frequently were only brush or such, he never made us feel silly. The visit to Stone Town helped us begin the return to an urban setting; and when flight changes gave us a long layover in Dar es Salaam the folks at Savannah Tours (at their own expense) reserved a day room at a lovely hotel so we could have a place to spend the time while waiting for our departure flight. It was an expensive vacation but we felt the money was well spent and will never forget this once in a lifetime experience and the folks who helped make it a success, Savannah Tours Limited.

Unforgettable and fantastic trip - better than everything we could ever have imagined!
5/5

We've participated in a 12-Day Hwange and Mana Pools Parks safari trip with Mike Scott and his partner Bernard. We’ve spent 12 absolutely amazing and outstanding days in Hwange and Mana Pools: Tent camping (with camp cots, mattresses, duvets and pillows) with all imaginable amenities (from Birchermüesli and Nutella to excellently constructed bush shower/toilet) at really remote camping sites - particularly Chitake Spring Camp 3 and Croton Camp in Mana Pools were in complete wilderness; the first Mandavu picnic site camp in Hwange to a lesser degree - with only very few people but lots of game…! The mix of walking safaris and drive safaris was adjusted to the guests wish. To get an idea for interested visitors – here is the link for a video a former guest has uploaded: http://youtu.be/sfvT23_t7J8.

Mike Scott, a licensed tour operator, and Bernard who speaks various local languages including Ndebele, Shona and Chitonga were an excellent, super-friendly and very competent team. If inquiries are done in time, one can tailor one’s safari (duration, parks, remoteness etc.) completely.

We can absolutely recommend Khangela Safari to everybody wishing to visit beautiful Zimbabwe and to observe (and to walk into...) impalas, elephants, birds, hippos, leopards, giraffes, lions etc. The unique landscape combined with this fantastic team is an unforgettable experience in all respects.

We're already looking forward to coming back, not only but also for watching the spectacular sunsets while enjoying a cool lion beer under a majestic baobab :-)

Thank you, ngiyabonga, merci vylmol/vöumau!
