We saw all the animals up close at once during the Safaris and cruises. We shared a lot of experience in the villages and discovered the culture of Uganda. We are extremely happy to have chosen Mr. Oliver Lugalia’s “Campofrio Safaris” to arrange a six day Kenyan safari for us at Samburu, Lake Nakuru, and Maasai Mara National Reserves, and we would prefer to retain their services in the future. Mr. Lugalia met us in person at the Campofrio offices in Nairobi before we finalized our arrangements. Our driver and guide Chris, was an extremely reliable and knowledgeable family man, capable of working from dawn to dusk, deeply familiar with the back roads of the parks we visited and with the habits of the animals who lived there. Someday we will go with him again to find the leopard, but we encountered not one but dozens of lions, the black rhino, white rhinos, cheetahs, literally scores of elephants, the hippopotamus trotting along in the dusk, ostriches, hyenas, jackals, foxes, and giraffes; innumerable zebras, buffalo, oryx, impalas, and waterbucks, as well as gazelles of every kind, even the tiny duk duk. There were also birds of every hue and variety. All of the hotels Campofrio Safaris selected suit our limited budget or exceeded our expectations regarding room and board and overflowed with grace and hospitality.

An excellent, professional safari company.
Communication was very responsive & African Big Cats Safaris put together an itinerary that ticked all our boxes.
Our guide Obed was superb and made the trip. How he navigated his way, drove the jeep over challenging ground and spotted animals & birds all at the same time I will never know. I never knew I loved birds until I met Obed. His knowledge and the way he shared it with us was wonderful. Our jeep was spotless every morning. Stepping aboard at dawn was so exciting seeing what the day ahead held. I’d been anxious about comfort and bone shaking drives. I needn’t have worried. The jeep was so comfortable.
Toilet breaks were regular and picnic lunches delicious. Our hot meal standing outside beside the jeep was a real highlight.
Our days were long but flew by. We were up for it but if we hadn’t been then Obed would have scaled it down for us. With his expert eye we saw everything. The Big 5 the Ugly 5 and everything in between.
On the last day I mentioned I’d not seen a mongoose. Obed delivered a whole family!
We wanted a mix of accommodation styles which African Big Cats coordinated perfectly. Masai mud huts, top end lodge, tented camps and our personal favourite the temporary migration camp. Sleeping to the sound of the bush, lions and all, and waking up to elegant giraffes just outside the super comfortable tent will live long in the memory.
We would love to go again for the northern migration - with African Big Cats & Obed without hesitation.

Solomon and Eric were also able to plan our itinerary to include activities with local tribes such as the Hadzabe, Datoga and Maasai tribes. It was very eye-opening and we enjoyed ourselves very much. I would recommend King Solomon Safaris for anyone who’s visiting Tanzania for the first time and is looking for an immersive safari experience.
