Our guide, Zepha, was exceptional: from early morning departures to admire the sunrise until the end of the day.
Always patient, smiling, and extremely attentive, he went above and beyond to offer us the best viewpoints and spot animals, even the most difficult to observe.
What's more, he speaks perfect French and provides explanations about the animals and local culture, which made the experience even more enjoyable.

SHOES was great from the get go. Very courteous and punctual. When he helped us onto the truck I was initially impressed with the quality of the vehicle. Top notch. Upon seeing other tours in the park they were envious of us. Leg room was good, it was clean comfortable. He accomedated us stopping before entering park for food and drinks. Upon entering the park everyone yelled his name and waved they knew him. As we toured he stopped and shared his knowledge of animals, people and life in Africa. We saw the big 5, every thing we wanted to see and what we didn't know we wanted to see. He cooked, we laughed. We are going back with him in a few years. Vacation of a Lifetime
It has been almost 2 weeks since we returned from our safari, and my husband and I talk and reminisce everyday about our journey. Day 1 began with Simon meeting us at the airport and driving us to our first hotel. Out in all her glory was Mount Kilimanjaro. We came to find out the next day, from our guide Khalifa, that Mt. Kilimanjaro is known as the "shy lady" because she is usually hiding behind clouds and not visible. But on our first day we got to see this wonder and that set the tone for the rest of our safari. The next day we met our guide, Khalifa Shabani. We spent the next 5 days with Khalifa. Khalifa was just one of a kind! He was incredibly knowledgeable of all the animals, wildlife and vegetation we saw and that we asked about. Khalifa prepped the Land Cruiser for each day of our journey; it was clean and fully stocked with beverages. Khalifa was super patient with all my questions and was very helpful in helping me when I mentioned that I wanted to take a carving of and elephant (my favorite animal) home. He knew exactly where to take us and helped us out with pricing. We could not have asked for a better guide! Now Lion King Adventures makes this journey a total "no brainer." That is, once you receive your schedule everything runs smoothly and like clockwork. Everything from airport/lodging transfers, meals, excursions and additional activities (we opted for a hot air balloon experience over the Serengeti) that interest you. The hotels, lodges and tented camps arranged through Lion King Adventures were beautiful and luxurious. The food at each of these locations was outstanding and all the staff was accommodating and helpful. And lunch during our safari outings, was of restaurant quality! Our accommodations at Zanzibar were just as beautiful and was the perfect place for R&R after our safari. We cannot say enough about our experience with Lion King Adventures and about our guide Khalifa. Everything about our 11-day safari and beach (Zanzibar) vacation was memorable, unique, perfect and an experience that will live with us forever. We had an amazing experience in Capetown.....Aquilla Reserve is beautiful, a wonderful controller safari experience. The wineries, and Capetown tours and attractions were wonderful.

a dream come true
I`ve always dreamed to seeing wild animals, particularly lions, in their own habitat. We did a 5 day tour through Tangarire, Ngorongoro and Serengeti national parks and saw more and closer up than we ever expected. A lot of the credit goes to our driver Fazil. While keeping his eyes on the bumpy track, he still spotted animals that we could only see with our binoculars. August was the ideal time to travel, pleasant temperatures. We felt safe and comfortable. The stays in the lodges (tents on platforms) were unexpectedly luxurious. All the staff was very pleasant and helpful.
After the safari we continued to Zanzibar to a beach hotel in the north. Food was excellent, rooms in our hotel were mediocre. I spent the last few days in Stonetown expecting some interesting sights. Stonetown is a World Heritage site, but it seems to me that the prized buildings have disappeared among new high rise buildings. I did see a few of the renowned carved doors.
I can highly recommend Tanzania as a travel destination.
