Friendly, organised, took care of everything
5/5

We booked a four-day safari (with the last night at a private lodge). Wildlife Safaris were extremely helpful and responsive in answering questions about the different options (a big reason we went with them), After we had booked, they were organised and clear in processing payments and letting us know what we needed to bring - and there were no hidden costs or snags.

The safari itself was excellent. We were collected on time, driven in a comfortable vehicle to Kruger by a friendly and knowledgable guide (Hoppy), and had already seen elephants, giraffe, buffalo and eagles by the time we arrived at the lodge on our first night. The package was a good way to experience the full variety of what Kruger had to offer at a reasonable price over a long weekend: one night and drive with a small lodge on the periphery, one night and drive in a big lodge within Kruger, and the private lodge - which I’d highly recommend (I didn’t fully understand before booking, but private lodges with their own reserves keep more active track of their animals, and have more flexibility to deviate from the road - we had an outstanding on-foot sighting with some cheetah and managed to track down the elusive rhino on our last day).

Our guide was a helpful presence throughout - our drives alternated between him and lodge staff - keeping track of animals we’d not yet seen to try to make sure we saw as much as possible, answering questions about the animals authoritatively, and being a friendly conversationalist!

All in all, had a very good time - we were lucky enough to chalk up all big five as well as aforementioned cheetah, hyena, hippo and many other birds and beasts. Would recommend Wildlife Safaris and this package in particular.

Amazing Kilimanjaro climb
5/5

I booked a private Kilimanjaro climb for me and my girlfriend with Kisaza Tours, it was a great decision. Communication was super convenient, we talked via WhatsApp to close dates and everything. The evening before the climb, we were picked up from the airport and taken to a hotel in Moshi. In the morning the guides came to ensure we had all the necessary equipment. The missing equipment was rented in Moshi before going to the gate, and everything was super convenient. At the Machame gate, we took our day packs on us and left the big bags for the porters. The hike itself was challenging, but the crew made sure everything else wasn't. We got a big tent comprised of 2 parts, one for eating and one for sleeping. We got hot water for drinking tea and washing our hands every evening and morning (it's super cold on the mountain, so it was very appreciated). Food was diverse, nutritious, and tasty. Everything was just great. Every evening and morning the guides checked our health to make sure we didn't get altitude sickness. Generally, the walking on the mountain was quite slow (pole pole), which was great as it was our first time at such a high altitude. I recommend the Kilimanjaro climb in general for everyone with good health, some prior training is advised. If you choose to do the climb I recommend Kisaza Tours, everything was really great, and the price was very good for what you get.

Responsive and flexible
5/5

I just want to thank Mamu for arranging my four day safari to Lake Naivasha, Lake Nakuru and Masai Mara, everything went very smooth and they were very flexible with my requests. The initial lodge booked in the Masai Mara reserve was booked on my desired days, but Mariam worked with me to find a different lodge that was inside the reserve rather than right outside. This is important because if you stay IN the reserve you can start morning game drives at 0600 otherwise they dont let you in until 0630 and the morning game drives are the best because animals are still moving around from overnight, once it gets hot they become less active and more difficult to find. The price was very fair considering everything that is included (pickup and dropoff in Nairobi, driver/guide for four days, lodging, entrance to both parks, as well as 1 hour boat tour on Lake Naivasha) the only thing that had to be paid separate was alcohol at the lodges, water during lodge meals, and souvenirs.

I also would like to highlight my driver, Joseph. He picked me up promptly at 0800 in Nairobi at my hotel in a very well maintained and clean vehicle, but that was just the beginning. He was knowledgeable of all areas and a pleasure to spend four days with. Joseph was very energetic and truly sincere about his profession, as well as flexible with our schedule during our game drives! He was willing depart for a drive at the earliest time allowed and stay out as long as we were allowed if that is what i desired. His love for his profession was clear in his attitude and actions. I could go on and on, but you get the point, he is a true professional and i would highly recommend him for future safaris!

Great experience with Topy tour 4-days Safari
5/5

We had a great time during the 4-days safari. We could see the big 5!! Although the rhino was a bit far.

Our driver made sure we saw as many animals as possible, and have enough time to take pictures.

It was also nice to meet and share our experiences with other travellers. The food was also good. Kudos to the chef for making fresh bread during camping!

Overall a great experience!!

Fantastisk
5/5

After many years of wanting a safari trip to Africa with the desire to see e.g. the big five, flying in a balloon and a lot of other things, then we decided to finally strike.
There are really many safari tour providers to be found on the internet.
But we landed on Africa Travel Waves. And that was our luck.
A completely fantastic experience, which was made possible through our fantastic game driver Peter.
Initial contacts were made through the Nairobi office of Blaise Odhiambo. And if we were nervous about doing business and deals, they were really put to shame. All agreements were complied with at least 100%.
So finally use this safari operator if you want a personal and incredible safari where all agreements from end to end are respected to the letter.
And if you have the opportunity to have Peter as your guide, then a formidable experience awaits you, both on a professional level and on a personal level.

Best regards from Anni and Flemming from Denmark.

Very Bad
1/5

My wife and myself took a seven day prepaid luxury Safari with this tour company last February. The first four nights were good, the guide was friendly. When we were suppose to leave Lake Navaisha to Amboseli the guide was not there to pick us up from the hotel.Eventually another guide had his contact and he did show up.He informed us that to continue our trip we must provide him with $1500 usd cash.Upon contacting the agency we were told to pay him $1500 usd or equivalent. We then spent most of the day looking for working ATM machines. The driver compromised and allowed us to pay for the park entrance fee for the remaining $240.00.The tour operator texted us that we would be reimbursed for the extra money and even told us we would be reimbursed for the entire trip.So the driver did the last two days of this safari. We we’re suppose to change companies after this so after the last afternoon safari. When we went to check out “surprise the hotel had not been paid” so we paid that as well. The tour company explained that since the tour was going to be reimbursed they didn’t feel obligated to pay for our accommodation. The driver had already drove to Nairobi by the early morning.I have manuscripts of everything and messages from our guide admitting that we paid $1500.00 .Al receipts.I was eventually reimbursed the hotel and $1500.00.,no other compensation.I would never se these company again.Like I said I have the complete copy of every message from African Miles Travel and TourRadar .

Incredible week, excellently organised by Meijo Safaris. Highly recommend the camping safari tour.
5/5

We did the 7 day budget safari with relaxation activity. What an incredible week. The tour was very well organised with excellent communication from the company, who visited us to give a brief the night before the safari started. Camping in the wild of the Serengeti and Ngorongoro National Parks was amazing, with animals all around us. The food was delicious all week, with local and international delicacies being hand cooked by a private chef for us at every meal. The guide was brilliant, very knowledgeable and fun, and knew all the best places to see all the animals we had hoped to see and to get the best photos. The relaxation activity included a trip to a stunning waterfall at the base of Mt Kilimanjaro, a traditional coffee making experience and a visit to beautiful natural hot springs. Highly recommend booking with this company and doing the budget safari, if you want to see real Africa and get the full cultural experience.

Amazing, very well organized!
5/5

Everything was top notch, especially for the price. I was on 4days3nights and accommodations were all very nice, clean and comfortable — single rooms aswell so no need to share with randoms. Food was buffet style, very tasty and got me full every time. You get a lot of time in Marai Masa, but in Nakura the drive is a little short, only 3-4 hours.

+++ for John, our driver. Amazing guy, safe and reliable, really knows his way around the parks. Ask for him and you’ll not be disappointed!

Trusted experts
5/5

Unsure where where to book our first ever trip to Africa we hit Google and discovered Safaribookings.com which gave us the opportunity to request quote from several booking agents.
Discover Africa were the first to respond and quickly offered one of their representatives (Antoinette) to meet us in video chat to discuss our needs and wishes.
Meeting Antoinette online was a pleasure and gave is real confidence we were in good hands. We discussed what we wanted to achieve out of a visit to Botswana and the Okavango Delta.
Antoinette asked us the right questions to get a good understanding of what we really wanted and then offered to come back to us with some suggested itineraries, once she checked availability.
Chiefly we wanted to try and see the big five and also experience the Okavango Delta in an authentic boots on the ground way rather than a plastic fantastic over luxurious way.
Antoinette came back with three great options, all different but all focused on what we wanted. It was a hard job to choose which to go for.
In then end we went for three nights in Camp Xakanaxa, in the Moremi Game reserve and two nights at Camp Okavango in the heart of the Delta.
Once chosen, we received a secure payment link from Discover Africa. We paid on line and were ready to go.
About a month before travelling, Antoinette sent through final itinerary information, travel vouchers and a useful information booklet about the area we were travelling to.
We had everything we needed, but Antoinette provided us with direct contact details including Whatsapp and made it clear if we needed anything we could get in touch at any time.
Once travelling everything ran like clockwork. We landed in Maun and were immediately met by the team from the safari operator who assisted us with luggage, immigration forms and when to go next.
Our light aircraft flight into the Delta was a real highlight, in 40mins in the air we saw dozens of Elephant, Impala and Water buck.
On arrival at Camp Xakanaxa we were taken back by the beauty of the camp, its location and the warm welcome from the staff.
Our bags were taken to our room for us and we were offered a quick welcome snack and refreshing lemonade. Then straight out on the first of 6 game drives. Moremi is safari perfection, we saw everything we had hoped for including Leopard, lion, Cheetah, Elephant, Giraffe, Impala, Water Buck, Buffalo, Hyena, Jackal and many many more…
Camp Okavango was further up into the delta and gave a real authentic experience with game drives on foot and by boat. We watched families of elephants eating together at the waters edge, saw countless Hippo and the bird life is incredible.
Again the camp, the staff and the food were all amazing. We literally cannot fault any part of our experience.
The temperatures in Botswana in October are very high in the middle of the day. We recorded 42C on one day. However this did not affect our experience. Game drives take place in the morning and late afternoon when it is much cooler. During the heat of the day we relaxed back at camp, in the pool or in our room so the temperature was really not an issue for us.
This was our first trip to Africa and before leaving we were concerned we had spent a lot of money and whether we would feel it was value for money. Having now returned we are so happy, it was money well spent, Discover Africa and I particular Antoinette exceeded our expectations at every turn.

Excellent Safari Experience!
5/5

In October 2023 we had a 3 days and 2 nights hike in Serengeti, Ngorongoro and Tarangire National Park.

The tour was organized Tanzania Go Adventures and all the details were great.

They provided us a nice tented camp in Serengeti and lodge in Karatu.

The tour was professional and our guide made sure that we managed to get most of the 3 days in the short safari and spot as many of the animals.

Would recommend !
