It doesn’t get any better than Lion King Adventures.
5/5

There are not enough words to describe this safari, you have to experience it for yourself.
With over 1,000 tours companies, how do you know which one to choose? Months and months of research lead us to select Lion King Adventures. Then you need to decide which safari is right for you. We knew witnessing the Migration was number one on our list so we chose the 9-day safari. Then came time for the initial direct contact to begin. Edward, the tour company owner, was quick to respond and answered any and all questions. His communication from beginning to end was 100% and always very friendly and caring. There’s a lot of mixed information out there regarding visas, vaccines, etc. After Edward took care of our initial booking details, he handed us over to Rose. Amazing Rose! She either answered our questions or steered us in the right direction for correct information.
Now, the adventure began. We landed in Kilimanjaro where we were met by our driver. After a very long flight from the US and an hour drive to Arusha, we settled in to our first night at Ilboru Lodge. It was fun to sit at the little outside bar area and talk to others that just came off safari. They were full of stories!
The next morning we met our guide Yusuph that would be with us the remainder of our safari. We quickly loaded up our baggage and headed out to the bush. Beginning the very first day, we were in awe of what we were experiencing. One exciting day lead to another, even more special and jaw-dropping than the day before. We kept asking ourselves how it could possible get any better, but it did. Each morning we were met by Yusuph during breakfast. It was a great time to relax and get to know him. He also joined us at dinner and went over the next day itinerary. Lunches were always out in the bush, either under a tree with a spectacular view or a very nice picnic area with restrooms. Our lunches were delicious and we had plenty of beverages whether we felt like beer, wine, soda, or water.
We continued on every day to a new safari lodge or bush camp. Each location was different and so inviting. The friendliness and helpfulness of each and every place was overwhelming. We learned a little Swahili that Yusuph practiced with us while driving. It was fun to be able to greet our hosts and thank them in their native language.
When out on safari each day there were main roads (all dirt) that lead to lesser roads. They refer to these lesser roads as a game drive. We sometimes drove for hours without seeing another vehicle. We literally cannot express the number of animals we saw, and saw close up. Yusuph was a cautious and safe driver, all at the same time, spotting something we didn’t see the day before. The photos will tell the story of what we saw.
Finally, we witnessed two migrations. This was an incredible sight to behold and quite emotional as we’ve dreamed about this for so many years and now we were there! Sometimes you have to wait awhile to see if a herd is going to get up their nerve to cross the crocodile infested river. Once they start, it’s an unbelievable thing to watch. Yusuph was a pro at putting us right on a great view point so we could capture great video and photos.
We left with our hearts full, and a love for Africa that will be with us forever. If you’re thinking about going to Africa, don’t wait! Start here with Lion King Adventures where you’re guaranteed a most memorable experience.

Tips:
Bring an electricity plug adapter for Tanzania.
Malaria Pills; not for us. They actually made us very sick so we stopped taking them.
Bug spray to spray clothes and we found Sawyer Picaridin Insect Repellant worked great for face and any exposed areas. 14-hour protection.
Bring face cloths.
Super thin lightweight pants and shirts that can be rinsed out and dried overnight.
Safari hat with chin strap.

5 Days Safari and Arusha City Tour
5/5

We booked the 5 days group camping safari tour and it was a great experience! Everything worked very well, the airport transfer, all meals and accommodation. Everything was very clean and the staff friendly. Our safari guide Frederic has an incredible knowledge about the animals and also the nature. We learned a lot from him.
After the safari we booked a city tour with Suricata Safari. Swaleh was very friendly and told us a lot about Arusha. We saw all the sights, had a good meal and visited a Maasai market. He also helped us with the bus tickets.
We were very positively surprised and would definitely book suricata safari again!

Great value for money
5/5

If you want to do a Safari in Nyerere National Park this is a great tour operator to consider. The accommodation is nice, you have a pool and the rooms are quite big with mosquito nets. The staff is friendly and helpful and the food portions at the restaurant are great. The driver (William) was excellent, he knew where all the animals were without the need for a radio. He was very skilled in finding them and we even saw a leopard (hard to see).

Solomon is a professional, calm, friendly, punctual and very knowledgeable person about animals.
5/5

The booking process with Jocky was very smooth after booking everything was as described. Solomon, our guide, was a very professional person always on time. He tried his best to show us wildlife as much as possible for that reason we were able to spot 4 out of 5 of the big five. He has really good knowledge about animals. Due to his calmness and friendliness it was fun to spend 5 days with him while doing game drives.

Kevin is a rockstar!
5/5

Jocky Tours was great but Kevin, our Safari driver, is the reason I would recommend this tour company to anyone.

My friend and I planned this safari the week before because we were already in Kenya and had the flexibility to chose which dates we wanted to go. We chose a 3 day safari through Masai Mara with pickup from/drop off at Nairobi Airport. We finalized our booking 2 days before, which Jocky Tours was able to accommodate on short notice and we really appreciated. The price seemed pretty standard compared to all the other 3 day, drive-in, Masai Mara options and it seemed reasonable considering it included the transport, food, water, and accommodation. We had discussed several different accommodation options (which varied in price) and picked the one that worked best for us - Mara Chui was a great spot with delicious food, 24/7 hot water & electricity, and friendly staff.

Now, Kevin made our safari experience *incredible*. He was kind, funny, and knowledgable so he taught us a lot on this adventure - everything you want in a safari guide. But even better, he managed to find and get us close to all sorts of animals - giraffes, a parade of elephants, lions, hyenas, leopards, cheetahs, gazelles, warthogs, wildebeest, zebras...it was incredible! I know you can't predict or control what animals you'll be able to see on safari, but Kevin managed to drive around the Mara and get us views of *everything* - including a gorgeous sunset our first evening and a stunning sunrise the morning of our second day. I always felt safe and I felt like I was truly getting a once in a lifetime experience. I will always be grateful to Kevin for what he did for our tour group and the experience he gave us.

No show

I booked two daily tours with African eagle online for January-24.
They didn’t send me any confirmation and now they claim that there is no booking under my email. I already received the payment confirmation and it’s in my credit card.
