5 star tour with a 5 star operator
5/5

My wife and I had visited National Parks in Tanzania and Botswana. This time we wanted to experience Kenya. After a rather lengthy online scanning for possible tour organizers I ended up contacting Spirit of Kenya. What a good choice that proved to be. I was impressed immediately by the very prompt reply to my enquiry. Once we got started Tiago the tour organizer helped me through the booking and planning process step by step. As a casual traveller there are a few things you definitely appreciate. That is a sense of trust and professionalism with your partner. Among other things you are about to transfer quite a large amount of funds overseas. With Tiago I never had any doubts about his and his company’s honesty and integrity.
The tour we chose was a 4 days Lake Nakuru and Masai Mara safari. Here and there the roads in Kenya may be quite bumpy. Not least inside the parks. In that respect our choice of minivan as a vehicle was probably not the best. However the extra cost for Land Cruiser in relation to benefits felt too high in our opinion. As it turned out minivan was really alright. But that is a decision everyone has to make themselves.
Our guide was Steven. He is a very skilful driver. His capability to navigate in Nakuru and Masai Mara is impressive. Despite having a van instead of a jeep we never got stuck in the mud, had no flat tires or any other problems with the car. Because of some heavy raining at nights the dirt roads in Masai Mara were partly heavily soaked. We did witness some cars being stuck in the mud. However it was nice to see the comradeship among the guides. Help is always available. Steven seems to know everyone out there. Communicating and information sharing between drivers seems to be essential in these safaris. Steven was a fitting guide for us. Some characteristics stuck out. He has an appearance of a very friendly, polite and quite modest man. Still you get the feeling that this guy knows what he is doing. Experience and professionalism sticks out. With him you are in safe and knowledgeable hands. As a guest there is just one thing for you to do. That is to relax and enjoy. He takes care of the rest. Safari guides have an exceptional ability to spot animals even with their plain eyes. Steven spotted a leopard in a tree. I simply could not see it until I took the binoculars. Amazing! Steven’s overall expertise further strengthened my opinion of Spirit of Kenya as an outstanding tour operator.
You can’t choose the weather or what you want see in the park. Lady Luck plays a major role. As I had some previous experiences of safaris I had some hopes to witness something extra spectacular. That did not fully happen. But it was not a problem. Fully realising that live safaris are not like TV documentaries. To witness for instance a ‘kill’ requires some extra luck. We saw the big five and all the major famous savannah animals. For me it was personally rewarding to see cheetahs. I had missed them in my earlier safaris. We saw two with their fresh kill. And even the next morning we saw another one eating his impala breakfast. In Lake Nakuru we saw several white rhinos and in Masai Mara among dozens of other fascinating sightings a mating couple of lions. In Masai Mara we stayed in Julia’s River Camp right on the banks of river Talek. At night we could sense and hear hippos moving, eating grass and grunting just next to our tent. What a captivating experience! Hey, we really are in the middle of wilderness!
We had a splendid time on our safari tour and I can sincerely give Spirit of Kenya full marks for the manner the whole trip was conducted in every aspect. If I choose to have yet another African safari I don’t need to look far for the organizer. Without hesitation I also dare to recommend Spirit of Kenya for all those who are pondering which one to choose from several tour companies.

Amazing Memory! Experience just like the name of the agency!
5/5

At the beginning, I searched several local agencies on safari booking, and the itinerary and quotation given by this one are more suitable for us, so I tried to contact them.

Customer service Anne quickly and enthusiastically replied to us, and the 10-day schedule was relaxed. The accommodation was great. Two nights in Amboseli, stayed at Amboseli Kilima Camp , one night in Ol Pejeta, stayed at Sweetwaters Camp, two nights in Sambru, stayed at Simba Lodge, one night in Nakuru, stayed at Flamingo Hill Tented Camp and three nights in Masai Mara, stayed at Ashnil Mara Camp. The hotel's landscape and catering were good, especially the restaurants of Sweetwaters and Ashnil.

Anne and guide Steve also adjusted and upgraded the hotel according to the local weather and animal activities. The location of the hotel is very good. Amboseli lives at the gate of the park, and the rest in the center of the reserve.

Our guide Steve is very experienced. He has eagle eyes. We can hardly find animals with binoculars. He found them far away. He also found lions far away! And he kept on contact with other guides, and he was always on the lookout for the animals. So, even if it was not the season with the most animals, we saw the BIG 5. Steve knows the species and habits of animals very well. If you ask him, you can give a detailed introduction immediately.

Steve also helped one of our group get back the lost mobile phone, and took us to several pharmacies to find masks (the coronavirus outbreak did not occur at the time of departure, but did not come out with masks, and it broke out before returning China). He's really nice.

We have a good impression on Kenya. Just like the name of this agency, it's really our amazing memory.

Amazing 5 day safari with Wild Wings
5/5

Wild Wings was highly recommended by a friend who went on a safari last year. We were glad we took the recommendation because this 5 day safari was by far the highlight of our 2 week trip to Africa. We initially thought of doing the 3 day safari, but we were very happy we did the 5 day to get the full experience.

The entire experience with Wild Wings beat expectations from the initial booking to the actual safari. Our tour guide was Simon, and he was fantastic. He was very informative, passionate about all things wildlife and doubled as a great chef! I recommend this trip to anyone coming to South Africa.

The Pearl of AFRICA
5/5

Uganda 2020,
What a wonderful 22 days 21 nights trip true the pearl of Africa organized by Zander from Grasrootz Adventure Uganda! Normally we would prefer to organize our trips by our self but for our first time to Africa we decided to get in contact with Grassrootz and after a short phone call we quickly decided that this would be the perfect agency to work with!

Sander and Moses our guide did a wonderful job. Before our departure to Uganda we had lots of contact with zander about our trip to personalize it as good as possible. (good to know we booked the Budget trip to Uganda) After receiving a few different schedules we confirmed our trip and we were good to go.

We started the first day in Entebbe in our guesthouse and started from there our trip to the breath-taking mountain gorillas.(what’s totally worth the permit price!) which was followed by a game drive in Queen Elizabeth National Park to see our first elephants and lions, a 3 day trek true one of the most beautiful mountains of the world ‘the Rwenzori mountains’ witch was one of the highlights of our trip.

After a long drive we arrived in Murchison falls where we saw lots of animals and especially many birds flying around. And as a cherry on a pie we had a boat trip over the Nile and hiked to the top of the falls to see the million litres of water running true the rocks as once thought to be the source of the Nile! And after this national park we travelled 12 hours to the north-east to Kidepo valley national park. This is all what U expect from Africa. It was for us the most beautiful national park. The wide stretched savanna’s with the biggest herds of buffalo’s in Uganda and lots of critical endangered vultures to see gave us Goosebumps and makes U feel part of nature again.
We ended our trip by driving to the south-east with a few stop overs at local tribes to see their habits and way of living it was quite interesting to see the difference with our western life! After 2 days of traveling with a night in Moroto we arrived in the Sipi to visit the famous falls and do the interesting coffee tour provided by the son of a coffee farmer. Its quite an experience to see how dedicated these people are to grow one of the best coffee’s in the world.

After this area we spend 2 days in Jinja to relax close to the Nile to recover from our busy but wonderful trip with Grassrootz. And although we booked a budget tour it felt like a trip in heaven with perfect chosen lodges with felt FAR from budged with extraordinary meals and amazing people.

Sander u did an amazing job, thank u very much for this experience!

George our driver and guide identified all the wildlife and history of the areas we visited. Fab.
5/5

We booked this tour to celebrate our 20 years of marriage and wanted a unique experience. It lived up to our expectations and we were very happy with our accommodation and service which exceeded our expectations. George our driver and guide was superb. He was able to identify all the wildlife and fauna we encountered and Was able to recount the history of the areas we visited. We were very impressed with his knowledge and he looked after our every need. Would recommend him without hesitation knowing that whoever he took on tour was in safe hands and would have, like us, a trip of a lifetime. Thank you George.

A Trip to Remember !
5/5

Spent three wonderful days with Serengeti Wakanda Tours and Safaris adventuring through Tarangire National Park, Ngorongoro Crater National Park, and Lake Manyara; three stunning places to visit while traveling through Tanzania where you are guaranteed to see a wide range of animals. The people, culture, and landscape do not disappoint! Thank you, Wakanda Tours, for your hospitality and flexibility!

Amazing introduction to the mobile safari experience in a diverse range of National Parks
5/5

Thoroughly enjoyed the safari, excellent value for money with so many game park drives.
Booking holidays on "spec" and on the internet is always a gamble but there was no need to be concerned, everything worked out perfectly. Christa was extremely helpful, made sure that the booking experience was a smooth process and answered all my questions almost immediately.
Andrew our tour leader/driver/guide had uncanny game spotting skills. His joy in showing us the animals and his love of his country was obvious. His enthusiasm guaranteed that we enjoyed the experience to the full. I think spending time in a diverse range of parks - Liuwa Plains, Kafue and South Luangwa ensured we saw a variety of landscapes and animals (usually without any other vehicles in sight). I would highly recommend this safari.
