Perfect Day Tour to Lake Nakuru from Nairobi
5/5

Everything from the booking experience to the tour itself went smoothly. The communication with Tiago was spot on. They arrived on time and we were able to pay the remaining balance on the spot in cash and even with credit card. The drive from Nairobi to the Lake Nakuru National Park is quite long, but we anticipated that. We had the bus to ourselves, which made the ride somewhat comfortable. The park itself is just stunning. We saw three black(!!) and a couple of white rhinos, hippos, giraffes, warthogs, primates, and countless zebras, antelopes, and buffalos. Since the lake is quite flooded, you cannot use the usual road as our driver explained. Therefore, you circle the entire lake and even go to a higher lookout on the western side of the lake (amazing views). We spent about 4-5 hours in the park and had lunch at the Flamingo Hill Tented Camp, which was delicious and the staff was super friendly (we may want to spend a night or two there when we come back to Kenya). Overall it was a great experience and we would highly recommend Spirit of Kenya to anyone traveling around this beautiful country.

A dreamlike safari with a great guide
5/5

The decision to book the safari through Watu was not easy. There are simply unbelievably many providers and typically German you are afraid of falling on your nose and getting cheated. After some mail contact we (4 persons) decided to trust the provider and book a 10 day safari. This was the absolute best decision. The safari was simply terrific, we saw a lot of animals and got a great insight into the culture of Tanzania. Our guide had years of experience and could estimate exactly how far you can get to the animals without any problems and when it gets dangerous. During the whole safari we always felt absolutely safe. During the safari we decided to go on a night safari. The booking was no problem and went without any problems via Whatsapp with Majenda. I can only recommend the night safari to everyone, it is a completely different feeling to get so close to the animals in the dark. For me the safari was a highlight, I often look at the pictures and get incredible wanderlust. Another tip, 10 days safari is not enough, the parks are too far away from each other. Due to a car breakdown we even lost a whole day. Take more time. My next safari will be about 16-17 days.

Mt Meru Trekking
5/5

I was very happy to be able to book a 3-day Mt Meru trek with this agency just one day in advance. Colman was helpful and found me a group to go with for a reasonable price. The trek itself was well run and efficient.

Great Deal on a Impressive Private Safari with a Very Knowledgable Guide
5/5

My wife and I completed a 5-day/4-night safari with Tazama, spending 2 days on Maasai Mara, 1 day at Lake Nakuru, and 1 day at Sweetwater Camp at Ol Pejeta Conservancy where we saw lions, cheetahs, leopards, elephants, giraffes, rhinos, hippos, ostrich, all sorts of antelope, hyena, baboons, and more. In my opinion, there are 3 things that really define the trip: (1) your guide, (2) your lodging, and (3) your vehicle for the safari.

(1) We were absolutely thrilled with Reuben for a number of reasons. (i) Reuben has an eagle eye: oftentimes, he would spot an animal that barely has half a head over grass, shout out, 'there's a lion/leopard/hyena/etc' and then we'd turn around and head off road for a better view. (ii) Reuben knows the park extremely well after 22 years of being a guide: many times, there were no other jeeps around, and we'd be the only ones around a number of Big 5 animals without any other tourists rushing us or blocking our views. Even more so, he's regularly in contact with other experienced drivers, and when those drivers spot a rare animal and describe the location, Reuben knows exactly where on the Mara that would be (even though it's huge and has no real names or signs or many landmarks), and we'd be off to the races to see that animal. It was amazing. (iii) My wife and I could be ... well, slow ... sometimes in the morning. We tend to prefer travels that are less rushed. And while Reuben was always ready at the stated time, he also never rushed or pressured us if we were running late or wanted to spend a little extra time enjoying breakfast, though he said it would be different if in a group so that everyone's time is naturally respected (partly why we did a private safari and not a group one). (iv) Finally, I love talking about the world and delving into more personal conversations. Reuben allows the customer to dictate conversation topics: if you want a quiet ride, he'll give you one. If you ask questions, he's knowledgable and happy to talk. He also knows a TON about the animals, the various Kenyan tribes, and general world knowledge.

(2) I have some photos of the lodges and food below. We were very happy with all the choices. One thing of note: you should check the weather before you go and dress appropriately or request certain types of lodging. The tented lodges can be a bit chilly at night, though they add heat pads to the beds and a ton of blankets, but getting up, we could have used some warmer pajamas. Overall though, the food was wonderful and the lodges really really cute. Serena's at Lake Nokuru especially stood out for incredible food, warm lodging, and an amazing atmosphere.

(3) We were given a choice of a land cruiser or minivan. Make sure you choose the land cruiser: Not only is it more comfortable (for potentially bumpy roads and on the safari), but the 4-wheel drive allows you to go more offroad and into the bush on safari.

Happy to recommend Tazama for safaris. Being an online agency based in Africa, the prices are far cheaper than American travel agencies, but the experience is still very very high end. An incredible deal for the price.

Fantastic experience with great service
5/5

We wanted to take the whole family on a adventure to Africa, experiencing Safari and celebrating. We left the planning completely to Tanzania Travels and wow, they did a great job. The service was great every step of the way. The safari experience in Seleous was fabulous and we really loved our guide. Then relaxing and celebrating New Years eve at Zanzibar was perfect. We highly recommend the team and this journey

Unforgetable trip
5/5

My trip to tanzania was a last minute plan. Thanks to ibad the booking of my trip went well. He was quick to reply and always available to give more information. The trip went as plan and even better. Ibad and his team are very professional, and always going to the extra miles to satisfy their customer. I was a solo traveler and i never felt lonely ibad and his collegues were very nice to show me places in arusha before the safari trip.

Our tour guide in tarangire was a real expert he gave us a lot of information on animal we saw there. I was very lucky to see almost all the big 5 on those 2 days trip (except the leopard). It was a lovely trip that i will not forget thanks to Ambolele tours and his team.

I will definately recommand the agency!

Well planned itinerary with enough time to spend on the game drives and relaxing at the wonderful lodges. Highlight of the trip was the lions in the trees in Serengeti. I can recommend to other travellers.

Honeymoon of a lifetime thanks to Claws!
5/5

My wife Ashley and I set off on the safari tour of a lifetime for our honeymoon. We were picked up at our first hotel in the morning and met our driver for the safari, James. He picked us up in a Toyota Land Cruiser, it was clean and he came packing a refrigerated cooler full of water for our use whenever we needed it. We set off for Lake Manyara and he stopped along the way to buy us some red bananas, out of his own money, for us to try. We got into the park pretty early and, just like a normal person would on day 1 of their first safari, we wanted to stop for every animal. Every animal we saw, James explained any information we had about it, we were amazed that he knew so much. He had a big packed lunch for us to eat at the special look off picnic area. We are not big bird people but he still had info about each as we sat and ate lunch. We set a goal at lunch to see some elephants, after lunch we drove to find them. He spotted tracks off the path and said “they are close”. He saw them through the bushes and we waited for a bit. They then started walking directly towards us and right beside the vehicle allowing for some amazing pictures and even better memories.

At Ngorongoro Crater, We left our lodge to see that the vehicle had been cleaned inside and out and fridge re-packed. On the way into the crater James explained about his life, family, education and his job. I honestly will remember this probably as much as I do the safari. We saw so many animals here and also saw one of our biggest highlights, a pride of lions taking turns feeding on a very recently killed buffalo. James explained how they would have taken it down and how they decide who eats first and when. We completed the big 5 in the Crater on this day to our delight.

We headed to the Serengeti for our first of 2 days. We wish we could have spent 2 weeks here but honestly, James showed us all we needed to see in 2 days. We had very good positioning for cheetahs, leopards, hippos, elephants, giraffes, hyenas, male and female lions. We also had many great views of the Great Migration. Many times James would suggest areas to visit but he kept saying “its your safari, we will stop whenever you want”. Each morning we had a clean vehicle to get into as it was very muddy and there was a lot of dust each day.

I highly recommend Claws of Africa and James for your trip in Tanzania ☺
