Richard Michael is resourceful, experienced, courteous, and loyal.
On the evening of December 2, 2023, I arrived by bus in Arusha, Tanzania. I met Richard Michael, who directed and accompanied me to my destination: the Arusha Backpackers Hotel. I was told by the hotel staff that car rentals were not open on Sundays, the next day. After checking in, I left the hotel to find an IBM and a restaurant. Richard was outside and helped me find both. At the restaurant, I told him my situation: I had been sponsoring a boy in Kitumbeine for 4 1/2 years and I wanted to visit him the next day, but the car rental places would be closed. He called Styve Worldreech Loseria (whom I’d met just after my bus arrived) who came to the restaurant and he arranged my trip to Ketumbiene for the next day.
On the morning of December 3, Styve asked me if I would like Richard to accompany me, and I said yes. Thank goodness I did! He spoke to various Maasai people who told us how far it was to the village. And, when a rock knocked out our oil pan and gear box, he spoke with the local mechanic, who fixed our vehicle. He also found out that Ndungani (the boy I sponsored) had returned to his home village 45 kilometres away. It was getting dark, so we had to return to Arusha.
Early on the morning of December 5, Richard and I returned to Ketumbiene with Styve and our driver (I’ve forgotten his name and it’s not in my journal) and I finally met Ndungani.
If I had not met Richard, I doubt that any of this would have been possible.

Best Safari and Mount Meru experience.
Such a wonderful Safari and Mount Meru Trek with this company, under Robert's lead.
We had 10 friends who came to volunteer in our NGO in Arusha and stayed with us for 3 weeks. After the program only 6 people did safari and 3 days Meru Trek. The rest four friends had to fly back after the volunteering program.
After doing some research Robert came into our mind and we contacted him a week before and make an appointment to meet the clients at our location in Usa river. Everything was well arranged all the 7 people summited Mount Meru -the second tallest mountain in Tanzania after Mount Kilimanjaro. Followed by 4 Days camping safari to Serengeti, Ngororongoro crater and Tarangire.
Thanks to the humble and charming team and an amazing experience.

All in all the tour was great!!
Max our tourguide made our safari even better...he was extreme friendly, he explained and answered everything just perfectly.

Value for money but saw all the same animals as the big paying companies
We were a family of 5 (2 adults & 3 children aged 11, 12 & 14) who did a 10 day camping safari with Safari Multiways. We had the most amazing, life changing experience. Our personal chef cooked up the most fabulous meals with so much food that the whole family loved. Our drive went above and beyond to find the animals everyone had on their bucket list. Multiways offered great value for money. The bonus was that it is a locally run family company so all the money is going back into Tanzania.

The booking with Kalahari tours was straightforward from start to finish and excellent in every way.
Initially we booked a morning 3-hour Game Drive and an afternoon 3-hour sunset river cruise for our first day in Botswana. From the moment we booked everything was handled efficiently and professionally. Ou guide for both trips was OP. His knowledge and expertise were exemplary. We felt totally safe in his hands.
Everything went well from start to finish. Kalahari tours arrived about 10 minutes before the scheduled time to collect our group and we never felt rushed. I have taken part in many safaris in both the Kruger and in Pilanesberg close to Sun City in South Africa, but these trips in Chobe National Park were far better. We saw more wildlife and got much closer to all the animals without causing any disturbance. I cannot speak highly enough of Kalahari tours and our guide OP.
We enjoyed our first day so much we were delighted to be able to book an extended tours for the next day, which included and excellent locally made lunch, and a repeat of our two tours on our final day. Every trip was different and every trip offered close but safe encounters with the animals. Throughout our guide, OP, showed exceptional knowledge and could not have been more helpful.
We will be returning later in the year and I am certain we will be using Kalahari tours.

The tours are excellent value for money and I have travelled on safari's both in Kenya and Tanzania with this company.

Nothing is too much trouble for them,they have arranged SIM cards for me, taken me to the bank when I needed to change money and arranged all my covid test certificates during the pandemic- it's great to know that they are at the end of the phone throughout your safari for anything that you need!

Best of the best!
I traveled with Barack through Burundi, Rwanda and Uganda. The best experience of my life! Barack is a very nice and kind guy. He solved everything with smile on his face. As we traveled he helped us with everyhing and took us to the places that were amazing. Remembering all the places and people we met it was the best trip of my life. Even now I hope I will meet Barack soon and I am also looking forward to another adventure with him!

Amazing 7-Day Safari in Kenya
We had a fantastic time with Beyond the Plains in Kenya and can wholeheartedly recommend booking your tours with them! Starting with John's great communication and presentation we had a good feeling from the start about their proposed 7-day Safari tour. Everything was well organised and the tour felt adventurous and luxurious at the same time. A special thanks goes to our guide Dan who shared his 20 years of safari experience with us. He never got tired of answering our many questions and made sure we had a fantastic time. We really couldn't have asked for a better guide and driver. We reviewed many offers from different tour operators and are very happy we chose to go with Beyond the Plains and hope to do it again one day!
